I've noticed that for Khelds, switching forms activates the Fortune sound effect, just like the Hasten sound is heard every time I switch forms.

Ugh, going 20 minutes hearing a smooch every time I switch is a bit annoying...

    [/ QUOTE ]
The Wheel of Fortune FX plays every minute or so, so you're stuck with the sounds for the full 20 minutes whether you're changing or not.

[/ QUOTE ]When you use a power with a pseudopet, the pet inherits the Fortune and plays the animation again. It's amusing for patch-like powers to have the Fortune FX in the middle of the circle.
  2. I believe he means "buffs you for 120s", in the same way that Miracle and Numina do, not that the buff is the same thing.

    Add an Ally
Once you have everything balanced out just the way you want it, add a custom combat defensive Lt Ally to further help those soft and squishies. I like an Elect Hd/FF Hd Lt, they help everyone and have minor self healing so they don't fall over dead too easily.

[/ QUOTE ]I'll disagree with this. Only add an ally if your story demands one. Don't add an ally for the sole purpose of making your mission easier.
  4. Go to the Tailor, edit whichever costume you want, and press the "Save" button in the upper right corner.

If you're going to put an AV or EB in your missions, make sure that you mention this in your description so that people who are actually interested in your content can be sure to turn down the challenge level.

[/ QUOTE ]I recommend taking the same approach to EBs/AVs that the canon missions do; the contact says something along the lines of "You should bring a team for this mission" before you accept it, and the text is in a different color to make it stand out. Exact phrasing can vary based on the contact's character and the mission in question.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would disagree with this. The AV/EB message should be in the Description as well as possibly in the contact's message. You don't see the contact's message until you start the TF or are part way through it. Even at level 1 AVs will be a problem and many will want to just avoid the mission.

Moreover if it is in the description hopefully we can come up with some "approved" descriptions like noAV/EB, AV/EB so that you can search on missions.

[/ QUOTE ]That's fine if you want to do that with your description. I'm not talking about the description, and frankly could care less if you put "AV" in your arc's description.

You don't get that in the canon game, not even when running something like A Hero's Hero where there's an AV in nearly every mission, sometimes more than one. The contact tells you to bring friends, and you can do that, even in an AE mission. Unlike other versions of TF mode, you can invite more people mid-arc.
  6. You can save the character's costume, you know.
  7. You do realize that the majorityof the playerbase would murder you if you tried touching their lovingly crafted costume, right?
  8. when you change costumes, the game has to send out your new costume data to everyone within draw distance. If you can change costume too frequently, it creates serious lag.

There's absolutely no reason to write defeat alls

[/ QUOTE ]Frankly I disagree. However I will say that throwing in a defeat-all for no reason will simply frustrate the player. The bigger the map, the better reason you need to have to setting it to defeat-all. But I can see a legitimate reason for a defeat-all on any given map.

If you're going to include defeat-all, though, don't use enemies that stealth.

Finally, if your arc contains overpowered or excessively tricky or truly obnoxious mobs (AVs, EBs, Electric Brutes that drain ALL your Endurance, Cold Corruptors that slow your movement and recharge rate down to zero), be sure to mention or at least hint at this in your description.

[/ QUOTE ]Because we don't have any way of limiting the frequency of a spawn (eg, there will only ever be a single Malta Sapper in a spawn), the best course of action is to limit your somewhat annoying powers to lieutenants, and truly annoying powers to bosses. Giving minions things like Radiation Infection or Hide is just cruel to the player.

    I'll also add:
Take time to write up a good souvenir. I've been quite disappointed with the majority of the souvenirs I've gotten in MA, but it's really not that difficult to write a good one. Take the following souvenir example:

    A Foo's Widget
Contact Hologram gave you this Foo's Widget after your final battle with Bar. You like to keep it around to remind you of the time you like to call...

    The Example of the Foo
    It began with {summary of mission 1}

    Bar's plan was incomplete, however, and {summary of mission 2}
    ...
    etc.

There is a lame hidden suprise, can't use the power on pets. :/

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That surprised you? Really?

Personally, I would have been surprised if it did affect pets, especially considering how powerful some of them are.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which pet? Don't believe this would overpower MM or Troll/Dom pets. Just make it not affect temps like heavies and shivans.

[/ QUOTE ]The only really impressive effect the Fortunes have for pets would have been +rech, but that doesn't work on pets any more. Some pets could make use of +mez, a few could make use of +buff; they could all make use of +res, +def, or +dam, but the values aren't so high as to be overpowering. +spd doesn't do much for them except to let them catch up to you when you speed away from them.

I just fought a Zombie using Rooted, but he could jump! AND his power set was mace stone armor, yet I was being immobilised! Stone does NOT have an immobilise! Mudpots is a slow and DoT.

    [/ QUOTE ]Mission Maker Secondary.Stone Armor.Mud Pots has a mag 2 immobilize.

Hmmm, will have to use a Mk III analyzer to see what the Perception of custom critters is.

I put a custom critter in with a group of snipers and it saw me at the same time the snipers did, so, I'm willing to bet custom critters have a sniper's perception... or agro range.

[/ QUOTE ]This happens to any critter in a spawn with a sniper. The sniper sees you, and send his aggro shout to the critters in his spawn, which aggros the others onto you, despite the fact that they wouldn't normally see you.

It has been my experience that, barring +perception powers given to the custom critter, they have normal perception values.

Remember, your costume slots are all labeled slots 0, 1, 2, 3, 4. There is no number 5.

[/ QUOTE ]Unless you're a VEAT who has turned in Halloween salvage and done all of the costume missions. Of course, costume slot #5 can't be edited at the tailor

That, and a pet can't click "accept" or "decline" in a dialog box.

[/ QUOTE ]They'll press whichever button I command them to!

  15. I don't know. I know I've had a mission fail because the boss ran away and escaped from me before, though it wasn't my mission so I don't know exactly how it was done. Maybe try an indoor map, rather than an outdoor one?

I still wanna see guys running around in 'Tights With Skin' options and a bulge-slider. =-P

One thing I would like them to add also is a bind command that activates the costume change emotes with a costume change. Maybe /cc costume# emoteon(1)/off(0) or /ce costume#?

[/ QUOTE ]Such a good idea, it's already implemented!

Though it would be nice if they let all 4 Foe 'intangibility' powers use them.

[/ QUOTE ]Force Field and Sonic Resonance Defenders and Controllers would get exactly zero use out of intangibility enhancement in Detention Field/Sonic Cage. The Defender and Controller versions of those powers are already strong enough to cage any target. Only Force Field Masterminds and Sonic Resonance Corruptors would get any use from slotting for intangibility, and even then, it would only let them cage EBs where they couldn't before (they can already cage AVs)

    [/ QUOTE ]

They would still get the added benefit of Set bonuses, and heck, If you're going to take the power anyhow, Why shouldn't you be able to get set bonuses out of it? (Like almost every other power you can take.)

[/ QUOTE ]Rest does not allow Heal or Endmod sets, because it would be useless to the player. Wet Ice does not allow Defense enhancements or sets, because it would be foolish to slot the power for defense (the base value is 1%)

I count 7 intangability powers. 4 affect the foe and 3 affect the caster.

    Detention Shield
    Sonic Cage
    Black Hole (takes intangible)
    Dimension Shift (takes intangible)
    Phase Shift
    Quantum Flight
    Nebulous Form

[/ QUOTE ]Fair enough, I should have said "foe intangibility". The fact remains that only 2 accept intang enhancements, anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What exactly do the intang enhancers do to the power? I forget since i never pick up the powers.

[/ QUOTE ]Despite the fact that the enhancements claim to increase the duration, they actually increase the magnitude. Which is why Detention Field and Sonic Cage don't accept them, because only Mastermind and Corruptor versions of the powers are weak enough to fail against a target, and even then they only fail against EBs.

I'd love it if they somehow went backwards and made costume-change emotes for the Cyborg pack, as well!

That's great, but I thought there'd be more, considering there are 22 cards in the Tarot's Major Arcana, which this is based on.

[/ QUOTE ]There are 9 Fortunes listed on the store webpage. There are 9 images in the game files ending in "Fortune". There are 9 powers in City of Data which set Fortune Read Mode. And none of the other 13 Major Arcana link to anything when you try to hyperlink them in-game.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's only 9 available.
