Many just call them healers because it's easier and more accurate than calling them support. (Swear to gawd that is the actual argument i've seen used.)

Personally i prefer the term "support", even if it is somehow harder than typing "healer". i've also convinced myself that support is in general a more accurately descriptive term than healer. But what do i know?


Other myths: There are still people who think that the only thing Speed Boost does is make you run faster. Not nearly as many as there used to be, but they're still out there.

Have everyone get purple inspirations, and ignore everyone but Numina until she's dead.

If you don't get Numina down, you're not going to get the others down either.

Drop the proc if you want to save slots, replace the Rech IO with an Acc if you're playing Defender or Corruptor. If you're playing Mastermind, have issues with Fluffy's acc, and want to keep the recharge, replace the proc with an Acc.

In my experience, all that's needed for a successful LRSF is to take down Numina.Once Numina's down, the rest fall like dominoes without anyone to heal them, and Sister Psyche, the only other buffer, can't buff herself.

If you don't have a team capable of separating the Phalanx somehow, or don't have things like Vengeance, Shivan Shards, and Warburg nukes, Numina can be taken down fairly simply by eating purple inspirations, focusing your fire, and going in for the suicidal fight. That strategy will net you a faceplant or two, but it can be perfectly successful for an otherwise weak team. If you can take out Numina before faceplanting, you're good to go.

[/ QUOTE ]Uh... TFs do scale to group size, and always have. The current setup is that members of the TF who are offline but not quit from the TF still count towards team size, but people who actually quit the TF don't count any more.

Why would you want to farm 56's? The max bonus to XP/Inf/Prestige is for fighting +5s. Meaning that you would get the same rewards from level 55s, level 56s or level 200s.

[/ QUOTE ]You sure about that? I know after the Winter Lord debacle, they added a limit on the amount of bars of XP you can gain from a single kill, but I'm pretty sure the rewards still scale at all level differentials.

Also, it's pretty easy to hit the hard cap on all of the travel modes, even Flight now that it has been buffed a bit. If you're at the hard cap, a booster does nothing for you.

I arrived to help just as the Flier landed at its second stop, and it was nearly dead before it lifted off again, because Smurphy was just about matching the Flier's regen on his Brute, and adding a second damage source knocked it down fast.

If the Flier didn't have such a small window to fight it, and if it stayed in one place, I'd guess Smurphy would've been able to solo it on that character, since he would've been able to take his time and he would've been allowed to keep his Fury.

Does it make you unable, no. This will lower your threat rating by 1 for each application on you from different sources. Thus your Threat modifier when calculating your Aggro is lessened.

To confirm this, open your combat attributes.
On a Tank with Super Speed that is active, their Threat rating will be 3 and not 4.

Now on a Tank who has Stealth, Invisi or has Grant Invis cast on them, check out their Threat rating, is it still a 4? If not then they will make it harder for you maintain aggro as you will have to do more to equal a Tank who does not have those powers active or cast on them.

[/ QUOTE ]Only some stealth powers modify Threat Level. Grant Invisibility and Stealth, for example, don't affect Threat Level at all. Group Invisibility and Super Speed do.

Also, Taunt (including the Taunt from punchvoking things) generates so much Threat, that your Threat Level is only really relevant if there's someone else Taunting the enemies. If you're the only one doing it, the Taunts will still hold aggro regardless.

I own both a Mac and a PC and also use both types of computers at work. I'm willing to bet the majority of computers used to render graphics for this game are Mac. The majority of CGI movies are made on Macs. Pixar uses Macs exclusively.)

So, just saying that "no one uses them" is quite an overstatement.

Because of that, there are many more computer illiterate (ie: easy targets) using Windows, especially people who will just buy a prefab computer from a store, which aside from notebooks will invariably have Windows installed. With a huge pool of soft targets, the devastation of any individual virus is much larger than if someone tried to write a Mac virus.

I'm no security professional, so I'm not going to debate the inherent security measures of Windows vs. Mac. With so much of the work of hacking being social engineering, computer literate vs. illiterate has more of an effect on computer security than any AV software you can possibly install.

And, while Macs are sometimes sen as the "graphics-generating machines", the truth is that the professional level software used to create those graphics (Adobe graphics suite, Maya, 3DS MAX) are available for all major operating systems, and the only limiting factor is the hardware, not your operating system. And modern Macs have nearly identical hardware to PCs, so the difference is negligible.

And for large-scale 3D productions, it isn't even a single computer which is used to create the animations. The studio will have a render farm to run the long process of rendering the video. For example, Pixar's Render Farm doesn't exactly look like a bunch of Macs, eh?
(I've also seen studios with a program to steal idle processes from computers on the network much like Folding @ Home)
