One in the hand is worth 2 in the bush...

[/ QUOTE ]That sounds wrong. I have one in my hand at night frequently, but would much rather have two in the bush.

Wait... what is it we're talking about having in our hands...?
  2. To be fair, you don't need a volcano to get geothermal energy. The air conditioning in my home uses geothermal energy, and I live in Texas, very very far from any volcano or lava of any kind.
  3. You're not going to get banned for enjoying an arc with a Radiation Emission ally in it. You'd get banned for going from 1-50 in 3 hours.

    Arguing is against the rules.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Where does it say that?

[/ QUOTE ] OK, you can, but be sure to "be courteous when disagreeing with others." lol

And keep in mind: "Debating the opinion is appropriate, however criticism against the originator of the opinion is not allowed."

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can argue without insulting people. I promise.

[/ QUOTE ] But arguing that somebody is not a genius could be considered an insult. lol

    [/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps I'm arguing with the metric that decided they were a genius?

[/ QUOTE ] You seem unsure about your argument.

[/ QUOTE ]Sounds like you're insulting him!

    A mad scientist did it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    He's not mad!

A little angry, maybe, but not mad.

[/ QUOTE ]He's crazy on you.
  6. Flier giving merits in the STF is a known bug. It's rewarding from the wrong drop table.

I would pay to see Patrick Stewart as Citadel.

[/ QUOTE ]Patrick Stewart would make a better Positron than a Citadel. Citadel is beefy, and while his chrome dome is actually chrome, Positron's chrome dome is pink.

the main thing is that they are actually utilizing geothermal energy.

[/ QUOTE ]Well, thermal energy at any rate. geothermal is a questionable statement.

You could argue that going in game(which is what I think they did) and recruiting is not the smartest move.

[/ QUOTE ]Actually, they recruited through PMs on the forums. These forums, owned by NCSoft, their senior competitor.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
    Why, I do not know.

[/ QUOTE ]Because they thought stacking resistance would be too beneficial to players
  11. I agree with Mateo. The critter difficulties were added because some people specifically want a more challenging game, not because of anything to do with risk:reward.

Best with endurance is Kin/Elec Defender, by far. Transference >> just about any +rec or +end power in the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are tons of characters that will never run out of endurance at a certain level, so it really doesn't matter if you can gain 3,000 endurance points if you only have 100. And for defenders transference comes at level 26, while quick recovery for regen comes at level 4.

[/ QUOTE ]I'm able to run out of endurance with both Quick Recovery and Stamina.

The poaching of CoH community leaders was just that: poaching.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't see a problem with that. Why wouldn't they want people like that to join their game? They asked, it is what any smart company would do.

[/ QUOTE ]Vote trading is "smart", but that doesn't make it ethical.
  14. Except, what's the point in this feature if it's identical to creating a new character?

I suppose if you already had 396 characters, but I doubt that's common.

You misunderstand. The reason it made people like me upset is because they provided beta access to people in another game, who in some cases weren't even following champions online or had any intention to do so. Meanwhile, beta is still closed for people to people who had been eagerly following the game and been signed up and waiting, and in many cases, still are as I type this.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't see that as a problem. It's a closed beta. People that feel insulted somehow that they don't get in one need to get over their entitlement issues.

[/ QUOTE ]There's a distinct difference between not getting in a closed beta you want to be in, and getting passed over for someone who had no interest in the first place. The former is being unlucky (or having a bad reputation...). The latter is an insult.

[/ QUOTE ] I disagree. Closed beta isn't for fanboys to have fun. It's for improving the product. If a company feels that person A would do better than Person B, that is ok. The company didn't do something wrong. If somebody feels insulted by not getting picked, they should get over themselves.

[/ QUOTE ]CO is not at a stage where they need focused testers who know how to fill out useful bug reports with detailed repo steps. The poaching of CoH community leaders was just that: poaching.

Nothing except the door you just came through. I've only left through the "wrong" door once, and after that I knew where each door led. It's like an actual RPG - you need to explore to find things. Building the world for the lowest common denominator gets extremely annoying for all the players that aren't the lowest, especially for an issue as minor as this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Such an elitist ego......

    [/ QUOTE ]Thank you

    Rularuu!

    [ QUOTE ]
Weren't there Rularuu invasions of Paragon City at one time? I can imagine they'd be much deadlier than a Rikti attack...

[/ QUOTE ]Yes, when the Shard was first introduced (I2?)

    Power Myths!

    [ QUOTE ]
When people found out that all weapon activation times had draw times baked in, they complained fairly bitterly

[/ QUOTE ]I don't recall that. I do recall people realizing how nice it was to fight without pauses in the animations when Dual Blades came out (which was always that way)

each probot bubble and each enforcer manuevers is 7.5% base defense.

    Power Myths!

    [ QUOTE ]
Weapon set redraw. Confirmed myth by BaBs and yet still the subject of so many player balance debates.

[/ QUOTE ]That used to be a myth. It isn't any more, though. It was never a myth for Dual Blades.

Use the type of character you want in a CustomVillainGroup, then you wont get the ones you don't want.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm, that's interesting. I haven't played with the MA enough to realize you could do that. So I could, for example, create a custom, level 1-X group called "Disciples of Big Burning Fire Guy" and throw some Hellions, Igneous, Bat'Zul, and Outcast Torches in it, and the MA would pick which group to populate the mission with based on what level the player was? I have a feeling that's too good to be true, but it would be so, SO sweet if it was.

[/ QUOTE ]That's correct, you can do that.

The level range of all the enemies you add need to be continuous (ie, you can't have Hellions and Battle Maiden's warriors in the same group without anything in between), but if you have a continuous range of enemies with different enemies at different ranges, the game will choose enemies appropriate to the player's level.
