  1. Oh, I agree with you. I guess I should have added, "Unfortunately, enforcing such rules is difficult, particularly on a large forum such as this one."

    MA Ticket Usage

I generally go with Bronze rolls, since you can get upwards of 50 times as many recipes with the same number of tickets, and you have to be really unlucky to average under 1/50th of your gold rolls.

Also, with Bronze rolls, you can get lots at once, rather than only get one or two at a time.

That is, of course, unless you're trying to get a specific recipe, then I recommend going for whatever will be most likely to get you the recipe you want

Mid's doesn't help us Mac users who don't have access to Windows...

[/ QUOTE ]I believe one of the things they're looking into doing is getting Mids' working under Mono, which would then let you use it on a Mac or Linux box.

    Visibly, my question wasn't understood....like I wouldn't know it's different in effect...

I meant the mechanic behind. kB is magniture 1+, KD is less than 1 but PW said KU uses a different mechanic. I guess if a power says KU, Mag 1+ = KU instead of KB, is it correct?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Knockback and Knockdown turn into each other if the magnitude goes below/above a certain threshold (which may or may not be 1.0).

[/ QUOTE ]The threshold is between 0.8174 and 0.7437, most likely 0.75.

    Proof:
    - KD power magnitude 0.67 is KD against a +0 minion with no KB resistance/protection
    - KD power magnitude 0.67 is KD against a -1 minion with no KB resistance/protection. Mag 0.67 becomes 0.7437 against -1 due to the purple patch.
    - KD power magnitude 0.67 is KB against a -2 minion with no KB resistance/protection. Mag 0.67 becomes 0.8174 against a -2 due to the purple patch.

Edit: A more accurate test would be a 0.67 mag power with a -2 KB TO (becomes mag 0.7504) against a +0, which would narrow down the threshold, but I've never attempted such a test.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
There is no power in the game that does less than 1.0 magnitude knock up, so the question behind that part of the mechanic is null.

[/ QUOTE ]Um... Air Superiority does mag 0.75 KU...

Edit: and KU is affected by the purple patch, so low-mag KU would go below 1 against higher-level opponents.

I'm just curious, i play quite a few dominators, but none of them are level 50, and none have pema dom, but whats the general idea about the new Dom changes in i15...

is it....1. Great Buffage with a few nerfs or 2. OMG loadsa powers have been nerfed with this new Buff.

Just a question, as I never have the time..or inclination, to play on test.

    [/ QUOTE ]

From what I understand, the buffs have been paid for heavily by drastically increased recharge times and endurance-costs. Psy Shockwave has been completely gutted; thank you God I don't have a /psi Dom. I'd be furious.

[/ QUOTE ]Gutted? It's pretty much a psionic Foot Stomp now, and it's still a better power than the Blaster version.

The only people that the change really hurts are those who think PSW is the only power in Psionic Assault, and people who are stacking Domination. And the people stacking Domination can drop some of their +rech set bonuses for +damage, and they'll be back where they were before.

The big benefit of the change is that since Dominators' damage scale was increased, they can benefit more from damage buffs than they could before - not only is Domination no longer taking up part of their possible damage buff, but any damage buff is also more effective than it was before.
  7. It depends on whether someone decides to /petition you, and what judgment call the GM that picks up the ticket makes.

For example, there's a Repeat Offenders group of Nemesis automatons of various signature characters (Mynx?, Statesman?, Luminary?, etc. similar to the Manticore? and Positron? in Dark Watcher's arc). But the person playing Warwitch? got genericed.
  8. I know the burning forest has a glowy spawn point floating in midair. If you didn't have a way to fly, it was literally impossible to click
  9. How much Carnie story have you done?

Perhaps it's enough to say that the post-death special attack that drains your endurance is called "Psychic Visage"

    In game note pad

Note: the /playernote command was designed to leave note on other players, and the name of the "note" (notepad, in Snow's example) is the global name of the player.

If you create a note named "notepad" and run into someone with global @notepad, right click -> edit note on one of their characters will display your note from before.

One precaution you can take is to use an underscore (_) in the name of the note. Players can't have underscores in their name, so you will never find someone named @note_pad or @notepad_page1, for example.

Compare it to any other pool attack; it's better than them all by a wide margin.

[/ QUOTE ]Actually, as far as damage is concerned, it's worse than Jump Kick. They do the same damage with the same activation time, but JK has a faster recharge.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Well, in all honesty, other forums that allow them have had problems with too much clutter from them. And people posting inappropriate images. Think of it as a preemptive strike against that sort of thing.

[/ QUOTE ]Images can be fine, so long as there are rules limiting their size/frequency that get enforced.

when I use the emote menu and select <Giggle> I get a cute laugh animation and sound.

I would like to ask that "Converse" emotes be made macroable so we can "Giggle" in our macros.

[/ QUOTE ]Everything in the QuickChat Menu is macroable. The QuickChat Menu is built using the exact same command syntax as macros.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
I have to give credit to Fleeting_Whisper and his awesome Guide to Customizing the Quickchat Menu and whereever he got his info from.

[/ QUOTE ]Let's just say... the same way that, for example, the Vidiotmaps people learned how to add map overlays, or how Vanden learned how to replace power icons, or how Leandro learned how to make his CoH Splasher program

Alternatively, "I'd tell you, but then I'd have to banhammer you! "

    Great writeup on /popmenu!

Lifetime subscriptions are use by game companies to quickly make back the money they lost during development; starting a lifetime subscription plan for a period after the game launches (as LotRO did) can help you quickly recoup losses. Starting a lifetime subscription plan after you've already been running for 5 years is a bad idea, unless you secretly plan to shut the game down in the near future.

Other than the Dominator changes on Test - have there been any large scale changes to Endurance usage?

    [/ QUOTE ]

... well, in issue 6 they dropped base endurance for everything by 15% or so, because you could no longer 6-slot Stamina. That improved life for lowbies by 15% or so.

Yeah, that was about 4 years ago.

[/ QUOTE ]I believe they reduced the endurance costs of Defender and Tanker powers a long time ago as well, to compensate for their low damage.

Other than the Dominator changes on Test and a few individual powers, I don't think they've ever increased endurance usage; and in those cases where endurance costs go up, it's because the damage went up.

While I'm at it where can I see the % chance of applying the status effects? Mid doesn't seem to have them.

It will boost the recharge rate by 70%.

Since the recharge rate is 0.0s and since hasten reduces recharge time by 70%, the total recharge time will be down to 0.0s.

i don't know how that works in our linear time game, but it's gotta be some benefit

Mids will eventually become out of date

[/ QUOTE ]Not until there's nobody left to pick up the reins of the program. I've actually talked to Steiner about it (the guy who has picked up Mids' development), and I think we'll be just fine.
  22. By "way out of date", you mean "doesn't have the EIGHT PvP invention sets"?

Because that's the only thing NOT in the current version of Mids'.

Wonder who named the little "PvP" icon next to the individual recipes "Day Job: Griefer."

[/ QUOTE ]I'm the one who selected that icon for the PvP sets, but I didn't name the icon. That's the ACTUAL name for the image used by the Predator Day Job badge.

In short: it was named that by one of the developers
