There may be a few others, but they are few and far between.

[/ QUOTE ]Off the top of my head, Fearsome Stare is only typed as Negative_Attack

every now and then new character slots are given as part of new updates and the like.

[/ QUOTE ]2 were given at the launch of the new feature, and you get 1 for every year of vet rewards you have.

costume parts based on anime series (e.g. series from shonen jump)

[/ QUOTE ]Good luck with that

but then wouldn't you have to have a reply channel?

[/ QUOTE ]No, it would still use the tell channel; it would just prevent you from talking to anyone unless they talked to you first.

    [ QUOTE ]
Otherwise RMTers would still have access to the /tell channel by using /reply. Assuming /reply added the person's name to the line of chat it would still leave it open to exploitation.

[/ QUOTE ]If /reply is changed to what it ought to be, the only way an RMT spammer could talk to you is if you initiated conversation, which is unlikely, considering the ratio of RMT spammers to actual players, and even if you do accidentally send a /tell to an RMT spammer, you can jut ignore them as you do now.

Not sure that would work. It's not like "reply" is a separate slash command; it's just a key shortcut that begins a chatline with /tell <nameofpersonwhojustsentyouatell>. It's still using the /tell command.

[/ QUOTE ]Currently, the effect of /reply is to pre-fill the text line for you. But unless their chat system is 15 times more convoluted than their power animations system, it ought to be a simple thing to send the /tell immediately upon using /reply <text>, than to just put the text in the chat box.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The reply command still brings up the /t command for the chatline though.

[/ QUOTE ]Um... try reading what I wrote. I'm saying change the functionality of /reply, so that it isn't just filling the text box with the appropriate /tell syntax.

    Running the ITF

Ways to speed things (in all cases, if you're going to use these tips, you should make sure the team knows what you're up to):
1: Skip spawns not containing hostages (this can sometimes be difficult, and it may be better to just steamroll them all, depending on your team); skip the mountain path and jump/fly/teleport up the side of the mountain; avoid killing the enemies at the top of the stairs to avoid the Nictus ambush, try to keep everyone behind the altar to ensure that Sister Psyc-- Solaris actually goes to the altar, instead of bubbling people and fighting.

2: Split the team up to fight the Shadow Cysts. This can range anywhere from everyone going to find their own cyst (very hard), to splitting the team in half for each of the east-west branches in the map (hard). Ignore ambushes unless they block your path/attack you (they'll often get bugged and lose aggro, ignoring you until you fight them)

3: Skip to the bridge. This lets you dodge an ambush, skip several spawns, and might help you lose an aggro monkey ally (Past-a-tron). Pull Generals down the mountain to the bridge, to avoid Lag Mountain. Skip the mountain to the computer (Assemble the Team helps here). Gang up on the computer until it's ded (+def and area denial/knockdown patches may all prove useful). Pull Romulus/Requiem down from the top platform and squash them.

4: Deal with the ambushes near the entrance, fly straight to Romulus and dispatch him. Fly up to the tops of the towers to finish you kill counter

    -OR-

Buff up Imperious and travel the long way (either side), with Imperious' Foot Stomp and Zeus' Lightning Bolt mopping up enemies. (Imperious with a fully-saturated Fulcrum Shift is scary)

Last time I did Doc Q (read: 2 years ago) we got it done in 3 and a half hours, even with me and the other SR scrapper having a contest to see who could get killed by the eyeballs the most.

We both tied at 22. Thankfully, our team seemed to be amused enough by our antics to keep rezzing us.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow, and here I thought "I can die more than you!" contests were only found amongst Blasters.

Every time I leave town, some big announcement lands that I have to catch up on: by my calculations the I16 post was posted practically just as my plane's wheels left the ground

I can understand some restrictions on trial accounts but the chat restrictions just seem extremely unneeded and like they're just gonna drive people away from the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Sadly, the chat restrictions are absolutely VITAL

[/ QUOTE ]I'd like them to expand the trial privileges, and let them reply to tells, if not initiate them.

You're looking for a glowing object in the mission. It could be a filing cabinet, a trash can, a box, I don't know. It's also making a sound when you get close, but that's sometimes hard to hear.

If you seriously can't find it (and it's possible that the evidence got put outside a wall, so you can't reach it), you can type /petition Stuck. Fill out the form that pops up, and a customer service representative should show up to help you

Didn't they JUST do this by making imps ignore recharge?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Recharge became irrelevant in this situation. When you summon new imps, it kills the old ones.

[/ QUOTE ]CEM means the recent change to make ALL pets immune to recharge buffs, meaning slotting */Rech IOs into your Summon Imps can't make them attack faster.

According to pohsyb, there's supposed to be code to detect if the arc is invalidated, and not show it in the list... but that's apparently not working.

This wasn't "ha-ha" funny, but rather "odd" funny, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this...

Last night I was standing outside the Steel Canyon WW with some teammates, one of whom is named "Hand of Kismet." A random NPC walked by and said, "Hand of Kismet? Isn't that the name of a villain?"

Just wondering if that is a normal, random line the NPCs spout, if it was triggered by something special like some of the "Did you hear so-and-so defeated Frostfire?", or if it was recently added in anticipation of Going Rogue?

For a while, there was a bug in the calculations which allowed a Scrapper to generate Taunt so high that a Tanker with Taunt and attacking couldn't get the agro off the Scrapper. That was carefully tested and repeated. And then it got fixed.

So, when people say they were able to peel agro off a Tanker who was Taunting and doing damage, they better have the demorecord file to prove it.

[/ QUOTE ]I believe that ws also around the time of the release of Willpower, which does have a weaker taunt aura than other sets; WP Tankers were losing aggro to non-WP Scrappers (Dark Armor, Invulnerability, or using Confront) and Tankers, and people were confused.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
The "nuke" is a AoE hold. That's more of the kind of power you'd get in the middle of a set.

The closest proxy to normal people would be a combination of "dry humping" and "rampant fondling".

[/ QUOTE ]... yiffing generally goes a little farther than dry humping...

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's generally assumed (if not, at least hoped) that there isn't any actual sexual contact. At furry conventions, in which there are actual "Yiff-rooms" in which it's specifically forbidden (though I don't know how often it's actually enforced) that there is no sex that is actually supposed to take place. Yiffing isn't supposed to involve actual sexual acts, but it often leads to them.

[/ QUOTE ]Maye at a real-world convention, which would probably violate several laws to have actual intercourse at, but in private or in cyberspace, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find an instance of yiffing that doesn't go all the way.

typically two lines like this would mean that there are two aspects of the power being enhanced
    ...
My friend believes that it was just a typo, with the same power split across two lines. But from what I've seen of different powers, this does not seem likely to me. Anybody have any clue why it is showing up like this?

[/ QUOTE ]Endurance Modification enhancements are enhancing two aspects of the power: +/- Endurance (eg: Electric Blast endurance drain), and +/- Recovery (eg: Stamina). Stamina is only affected by the +/- Recovery, but the enhancement still has +/- Endurance. The enhancement screen just doesn't always (ever?) filter out things that don't actually have any effect.

I've had people that were bad players turn Task Forces and missions into a mess before and I never felt so angry that I referred to them as trash. That's just me though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You're confusing disdain for anger.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Okay, well, personally I have never felt such disdain for a player, no matter what they've done, that I felt the need to call them "trash."

That's just me though, just throwing my opinion out there. Maybe I've been lucky and haven't met players that were that bad yet. Nothing against anyone that does want to call other people trash, if that's your thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, you just go for passive-aggressive holier-than-thou attitude.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Alright, it's clear that this has degenerated into silliness once the outright insults start to fly. I apologize for whatever I may have done to upset you so much. I try not to fall prey to internet arguments, and for that I apologize also. I wish you the best of luck in everything you do! Take care!

[/ QUOTE ]To be fair to Darktyger, your posts are pretty passive-agressive.
  22. 1. We're not certain that's the entire equation; Castle posted it in a thread some time ago, but as I recall the wording of his post suggested it wasn't the complete formula.
    2. We're not certain what floors/caps are involved in the equation

Edit: We do know there's at least a separate equation for AI Mod, and that depends on the AI in question, and that it can include a "kill the healer" value, though no current enemies in the game use it.

    6) Anthro-Verse - Pick an animal, any animal. You are now half human and half-something else, probably furry. Despite being covered with fur you still wear clothing. Despite the fact that your jaw and tongue are physiologically unsuited you are still able to talk. Despite having claws and teeth for hunting you still use weapons. Despite being a major furry fan-boy the teen rating still prevents in-game yiffing.
