I rationalized the "(null)" as someone I've opened the Player Notes on previously, which I do occasionally to check their global name to try to match who's who from the global chat channel during/while the team recruitment, but didn't insert any comments. I assumed the Player Notes window does an auto-save upon closing and thus the "(null)" to serve as a null value note.
[/ QUOTE ]I believe this is correct. That's why I give a star rating to anyone who I put a note on, rather than relying on Edit vs. Add. -

so far we have... indifference, sarcasm, and "stupid" ... i was hopeing for something a bit more constructive from the Def forum
[/ QUOTE ]There is an archetype called the Dominator. The archetype has an inherent power named Domination. It has two powersets that relate to cold and ice. Neither are 'cold domination.'
[/ QUOTE ]And which Dominator powerset is called Domination?
.

.
None of them? My, how peculiar. -

Tank, yes, mage, I'm not so sure. Defenders in general are a bit lacking on the mage front, and they'll bump into several other ATs if we give them any more magery.
[/ QUOTE ]I think if this suggestion were to be put through, I'd be unable to play anything but my Green Machine Empaths.
GM teams already get rolling nukes, limitless endurance, and absurd regen and defense. This suggestion would just make 'em even more powerful

Ah, that's right. Silly Cryptic. I now remember that I prefer to unbind things by binding them to "" (nothing)
IE: /bind mousechord ""
I believe this skips the "can only bind to four keys" limitation that nop may or may not have.
[/ QUOTE ]nop has no such restriction. /nop is simply a command like any other. It just happens to do nothing. -
[ QUOTE ]
So I have to buy the game - AGAIN, just for one little thing? Lame.
[/ QUOTE ]Only if you want it. It's not like it's a requirement to play. GvE gives you two costume sets, the Pocket D VIP Pass teleporter (w/access to the Tiki room in Pocket D), and the Jump Pack. None are necessary. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, they wouldn't move to all adjacent zones, just one at a time. For instance, they would go to Steel, but not the Hollows and Perez and so on (or to one of them, but not the others).
[/ QUOTE ]Yes, but if the players failed to succeed at the first raid, it's entirely likely that the reason is because there weren't enough people online and interested; if that's the case, then it's unlikely the second attack would be stopped, which would lead to a third, which also wouldn't be stopped, which would lead to a fourth, and so on.
The real issue with the suggestion is that should the heroes/villains fail, then the game world will most likely stay that way until the next server reset, which is no fun. -

What are "Game Sages", and what game has them? How well has that worked for them?
[/ QUOTE ]I know Shaiya has an volunteer position called Game Sage. The GSes in Shaiya don't actually have GM powers, but they're expected to mediate disputes, have what amounts to a red phone to the GMs, and are able to send server-wide chat messages. The Shaiya GSes are also supposed to organize in-game events and provide forum support. -

Well, so are Mathematica notebooks, which is why I suggested it
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't realize that (I knew that you could export Mathematica formulas to LaTeX, though). Is it reasonably useful outside of Mathematica or an obscure markup language?
[/ QUOTE ]Mathematica notebooks are made up of actual Mathematica functions (and a few comments). For example, here's the FullForm of a cell in a recent notebook I wrote:
<font class="small">Code:[/color]<hr /><pre>Cell[TextData[{
"Apply the method of Lagrange Multiples to find the critical points for ",
Cell[BoxData[
FormBox[
RowBox[{
RowBox[{"f", "(",
RowBox[{"x", ",", "y"}], ")"}], "=",
RowBox[{
RowBox[{
SuperscriptBox["x", "2"], "y"}], "+",
SuperscriptBox["y", "2"]}]}], TraditionalForm]],
FormatType->"TraditionalForm"],
" subject to ",
Cell[BoxData[
FormBox[
RowBox[{
RowBox[{
SuperscriptBox["x", "2"], "-", "y"}], "=", "1"}], TraditionalForm]],
FormatType->"TraditionalForm"],
". Give ",
Cell[BoxData[
FormBox[
RowBox[{"(",
RowBox[{"x", ",", "y"}], ")"}], TraditionalForm]],
FormatType->"TraditionalForm"],
" values."
}], "Exercise",
CellChangeTimes->{{3.4571121244125*^9, 3.4571122006305*^9}}],</pre><hr />
The output, sans formatting, is:[ QUOTE ]
Apply the method of Lagrange Multiples to find the critical points for f(x,y)=x^2 y+y^2 subject to x^2-y=1. Give (x,y) values.
[/ QUOTE ]It's also given the cell type "Exercise" (which, according to the stylesheet I'm using, is purple text preceded by a purple downward pointing triangle, which starts a cell group), and includes timestamps of when it was modified.
So, to answer your question: The file content is a bit bloated, but no, it's not an obscure markup. That is, unless you consider Mathematica code itself to be obscure. -
[ QUOTE ]
Only 50 or so of them could be animated at once.
[/ QUOTE ]Specifically, the game would draw 100 of them, minus the number of players (and players' pets) within your draw distance. -

Some MMOs have volunteer GM staff. This is not one of those MMOs. -
I don't like the fact that a single failed raid means high probability for every city zone on the server to be swamped by Rikti, preventing people from doing anything but fighting Rikti until server reset.
This version might be acceptable on raid weekends, but even then I think the warzones should be either on a timer, or have some way to cleanse the warzone which is essentially inevitable (for example: the warzone is cleared when X rikti are defeated by anyone; it may take a while, but eventually it'll happen) -
[ QUOTE ]
Version control is definitely, by definition, what you have on google docs.
[/ QUOTE ]No it's not. Google Docs doesn't even pretend to call it version control: right in their menu, it's called "Revision history".
Version control would imply some control over the versions, like merging versions or getting locks on segments of the repository. -

I am not sure I understand what the TeX features you talking about are, never dealt with that (at least not by that name so am lost)
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, these aren't related to TeX at all, just to the fact that TeX documents are straight text files.
[/ QUOTE ]Well, so are Mathematica notebooks, which is why I suggested it
I also like the ability to have folding sections. -
[ QUOTE ]
Obviously, the lack of WYSIWYG with TeX-style typesetting software is a downside for most users
[/ QUOTE ]Have you ever tried Wolfram's Mathematica? It's not quite TeX, but it does do typesetting and equations. I know the CS chair at my university has used it to write a textbook, for example. -

Oh and for the rest of you out there, this also means you wont have to pirate Office ever again, you can now use it free online, well not now, once it comes out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Never had to pirate Office. OpenOffice is free.
[/ QUOTE ]I never had to pirate Office, because my dad had a blanket license to the whole Office suite -

Weapon sets are probably on the lowest priority for power customization, since they have weapons customization already.

Have you seen some of the catgirls we got workin' in this city? There's no way the guards can stand up to that volume of seduction.

We've known Reveal was coming since March. -

REALLY hope that it is an oversight, I really dislike the animation/colors of hasten and super speed... so much.
[/ QUOTE ]The list on the overview page is the stuff they've got ready. There's still time between now and i16 to get more sets in, and I think BAB said they're working on Traps already. -
Yes, I do see a difference: I can afford the benefit of 6 Leadership toggles.

Is the standard rate of 1.67 the only part that can be enhanced because the rest actually comes from [Conditioning]?
[/ QUOTE ]If this was the case, that'd be a bug, as VEATs are supposed to actually have an increased base.
[/ QUOTE ]
Every inherent is a power, including Conditioning. So it is separate from the base, and not enhanceable.
[/ QUOTE ]The power [Conditioning] quite literally does nothing. You're also wrong about every inherent being a separate power; Gauntlet, Containment, Critical Hit, Scourge, and Assassination is contained wholly within the AT's powers, not the inherent power itself. Fury and Domination are split between the inherent power and the AT's powers, and Defiance is split between the powers and special game mechanics.
