Green Machine is only on Freedom. But anyone could get a few friends together, roll some Empaths, and get a GM-style team going. It takes 3 Empaths to really get the numbers working, more is gravy.

I don't really get a chance to play with Hobo. And I'm talking about Smurphy in general

What have they removed/mucked up? I haven't noticed any loss of features.

I'm not interested in server ticks, for example, or the effect of network latency, so I don't go any deeper than the base mechanics, scales and systems.

I want to play whatever I think will be fun, without feeling like I'm working with something which is suboptimal. Understanding mechanics and numbers allows me to take something which may not be "the best" and make it work as well as it can, and that allows me to have fun with it.

Back when ED was on the test server, many people were proclaiming the "death of defenders". I wanted to know if that was really what was going to happen, so I started a new defender with the intention of restricting myself to only attacking with melee attacks. In doing so, I found myself learning more and more about the game mechanics and numbers, as a matter of survival, and found that I could make the concept work very well once I understood what was going on under the hood.

That changed my perception of the game permanently. I realized then that any character could be viable and fun, even the most outlandishly designed characters, as long as one understood how the game worked. That opened up a lot more options for me, allowing me to explore more interesting concepts, but also led to a renewed interest in the game itself and expanded my understanding of what a "superhero/villain" could be.

Imagination empowered and supported by numbers.
Basically everything Lumi said. Except the stuff about ED on the Test Server, since I wasn't around, or the Scrapfender, since I don't have one.

You still know them? Were you expecting to forget their existence?

As someone with a couple Green Machine characters, I'll say the only Empathy powers I even consider skipping are Heal Other and Absorb Pain (AP moreso than HO, depends on my build; I favor HA over HO because it lets me heal myself). Clear Mind through Adrenalin Boost are too good to not have, and Resurrect is useful enough to pick up, because someone's going to die eventually, especially with Smurphy on the team (though I'll rarely take it at 6, when it becomes available). CM-AB are also an essential part of what makes the Green Machines tankmages.

While GM requires a very offensive playstyle, the build requirements actually are balanced. 6 of the 9 Empathy powers are required in a GM build, as well as a functioning attack chain, and your nuke. We're not healers, but neither are we Blasters with healing powers.

The OP is allowed to add 5 tags when creating the thread; anyone esle can add 2 more of their own.

Haven't played AR in a long time, but I'm pretty sure Thugs MMs still get to pistol-whip opponents

But it's understandable to ignore a post from "000zero000" or "-Jesus". People tend to pay more attention to rednames.

I have the original QuickChat.mnu file linked to in the guide. You don't have to do any work at all if you just want your old menu back.

Only the display. It's still going to the correct location.

You misunderstand me. That is how Firefox displays a broken image. Try highlighting the "View Post" text - note that you can only either highlight the whole link, or none of it. That's because it's actually an image.

Just because Firefox doesn't show a border around the broken image and a red box in the corner, doesn't mean it's not displaying a broken image.
  22. No, there is no way to dump your build order. The game doesn't even keep track of when yu place enhancement slots, so even if there was a way to dump the build, there'd be no way to know when you placed slots.

By "quick links", I assume you mean being able to type a letter appropriate to the menu or menu item to select it, rather than clicking it with your mouse? I refer you to the end of the syntax section in the guide:
    Quote:
In addition to the basic syntax, you can include an ampersand (&) in front of one of the letters of either MenuName or OptionName to make that letter a mnemonic for the Menu or Option. Rather than clicking the Menu or Option with your mouse, you can instead type the specified letter on your keyboard. (Example: If you have a Menu "Com&bat" in your QuickChat, you can type "'b" to open the Combat menu. If the Combat menu has an option "&Attack", typing "'ba" will execute the Attack option)
