Benumb does not affect magnitude protection. It affects percentage resistance. Applying Benumb would effectively make the holds last longer, not make you require fewer holds.

While I agree with you on the odds of a CoH movie actually being made, I think a movie covering the First Rikti War might be pretty interesting, especially if they cover the Alpha and Omega Gambit, and especially if some of the heroes on the Omega Team had their characters built up throughout the movie

- Hero 1 (unless the movie also covers the second invasion: fate unknown)
- Glacia (unless the movie also covers the second invasion: fate unknown)
- Infernia (unless the movie also covers the second invasion: fate unknown)
- Ajax (caught by a stasis ray before entering the portal to the Rikti Homeworld, survived the blast from the portal's destruction)

In that case, I think I have mixed feelings about whether the movie should reveal the Truth behind the war (which according to the game storyline, isn't discovered until after the Second Rikti War).

Another interesting option might be to follow some minor heroes, like Horus from the Blue King comics, with a backdrop of the Big Dogs like Statesman, but not focusing on the big names too much. For bonus points, since any CoH movie would probably be developed by a CoH player, a movie in that vein could legitimately squeeze in a cameo from the director's/writer's character(s)

In general, you're simply not going to hold an AV through PToD while solo. (When PToD are down, the AV is no worse than a Boss to hold)

Yes, Benumb will reduce an AV's Hold resistance, but you've still got to stack enough magnitude before the duration of the first Hold wears off, no easy task.

If you're looking to Hold an Av through PToD, I recommend a Fire/* Dominator with obscene amounts of +rech. Fire Control has the fastest animating ST Hold, and Domination will double your Hold magnitude (and if you've got obscene amounts of +rech, you can get perma Domination, with the possibility of double stacked Domination for a triple-mag Hold)

There were never plans for it. Someone bought the rights to make it, but that happens all the time. It's kind of like insurance: If Joe buys the rights to make a movie and Sally actually has an idea for that movie, Sally has to ask Joe's permission, and probably pay Joe a bunch of money to do it.

Pretty sure that's not what Moodswing was talking about, but more likely the literal definition of "martial arts". By its literal definition, Martial Arts refers to any form of fighting. Specifically, "martial arts" means "the art of warfare" (see: Mars, the god of War). This technically even includes someone learning to fly a stealth bomber.

Of course, that isn't what people generally mean when they say Martial Arts. They usually mean hand-to-hand combat, and more often than not are referring specifically to the umbrella of Asian hand-to-hand styles. Which is why both the Martial Arts powerset and this Martial Arts booster pack have a distinctly Asian flair.

It can't be slotted, but you can slot Sprint, Swift, and Hurdle, which all stack with Ninja Running.

Knowing something like that requires out-of-game knowledge. In the RP world, we call that metagamaing, and you get hit with the Stick of Pain for it. In the comics world, we call that Deadpool, and you get hit with a lawsuit for it.
