Pretty usre magikwand meant that anyone with the Invulnerability powerset that doesn't take the [Invincibility] power is an idiot. Considering it's their taunt aura, one of their primary sources of mitigation, and gives some +tohit on the side, I'd tend to agree.

I won't be switching much. Mostly, I'll be going Rogue/Vigilante in order to get more badges

Well, my previous post specifically addressed "Willpower" and ignored your complaints about Brutes and Dual Blades. But if you want to get down to it...
- Brutes gain fury from attacking as well as being attacked. If things aren't hitting you, hit them to keep your Fury going
- You don't need 100% Fury to be awesome. I totally understand the chase after the Fury bar (I've been there), but you don't need it. Fury boils away fast, but it comes back just as quickly.
- It is far more likely that your combo will break due to hitting the wrong power than because an enemy was KBed out of range. Hell, I've kept a combo going between spawns on numerous occasions.
- Attack Vitals only really provides "big DPS" against single hard targets: in orther words, Elite Bosses, Archvillains, Monsters, and Giant Monsters. Targets that aren't going to be KBed anyway. -
Of course, if the enemies are on their backs, you don't need mitigation. If they've been in melee with you, you've been taunting them and they're in Melee mode, so they'll come running back into melee once they stand up.

That second bind will not work, and the first one will probably be unreliable. Instead of powexec_name, you should use powexec_toggleon and powexec_toggleoff.

On the other hand, I was just recently on a PuG alongside a Stone Armor Tanker who had every primary power except Granite (not 32 yet, so couldn't get it), yet he only ever turned on Rooted and Mud Pots. It took me a little bit to notice, but it quickly explained why the two Regen Scrappers and the Willpower Scrapper were surviving so much better than the Tanker, who would faceplant every other spawn.

Quote:Well there's your problem! Crap is supposed to go in the heap, no the stackI still remember what a British programming teacher once told me: "Because it fills the stack with crap." His were wise words, and in this case, there really is no good way to go about it.

No, there is no way to distinguish between PC and NPC. If you have specific critters you're looking for, you can target them by name, but if a player has a similar/identical name (depending on your targeting bind), you'll still get them.

If there's a list merge, people with both NA and EU accounts would be just like people with two NA accounts (or two EU accounts).

I tend to start using Common IOs at level 22 (using lv25 IOs); they're about the same as an SO (the best enhancements available before the invention system and before you were level 47), and I don't have to replace them *ever*.
However, IOs are more expensive than SOs are. I recently got a character up to 22 on a new server, and at 22, I couldn't afford to get IOs in all of my slots. I put what IOs in that I could, and continued playing, adding more IOs as I could afford them. By 25 (and a couple lucky sales at Wentworth's), I had every slot filled with a level 25 common IO.
At this point, you shouldn't worry about set IOs or the Field Crafter badge. Worry about becoming effective first

Quote:There has to be a middle ground. On the one side, you've got a game with so many way to teleport you from one spot to another, you may as well just have a menu selecting what mission you want to go to, and not even have scenery. On the other side, you've got a game where travel take so long, nobody wants to do it at all. Now, I know that there are probably several players who would speak up and say that further efforts to reduce actual travel time would help the game... but... looking around at other MMO's and the empirical sales evidence that is available, I think it's more likely that further modifying the travel system would do more harm to the player base. It'll just make it easier for players to avoid actually exploring the game, and that, that's a bad thing.
I think for the most part, we've got that middle ground now. Player complain about places like Independence Port and Nerva Archipelago - evidence that these zones lean too far towards "travel takes too long". But overall, I think we're pretty good as it stands. -

Quote:I know you're not talking about Koago specifically, but killing the Igneous (or not) is part of reaching him.Er? I'm not talking about the final room with Koago, I'm talking about the main chamber with the respawning Igneous. Nowhere else in the game does a mission respawn enemies, and a 10-15 Trial shouldn't be the place for it.
The fact that Recall Friend + some form of Invis or Invincibility is fairly critical to beating it in most cases is poor design.
The only reason I ever recommend stealthing to the door is because in order to reach the door, you have to run through the Tunnels of the Trolls, full of tight spaces and higher-level-than-you hard-hitting Troll enemies. And those respawn because it's a hazard zone, not a mission.
I've never had respawning Igneous be an issue on this Trial; the Troll are always the hard part, in my experience. -

I was under the impression that the EU and NA clients were the same, it was the login you use that makes the difference.

Quote:Neither CoD nor *cough* an information source that we're not allowed to discuss on the forums *cough* list Acid Mortar as having a fear effect (or avoid/afraid, for that matter). CoD may be a little out of date at the moment, but my *ahem* other source is most decidedly not. Both sources are extremely accurate with regard to what powers in this game do.Castle confirmed through PMs that it does have a fear effect, it's just not listed for some reason
So you'll forgive me for doubting, "Castle told me in a PM". While it's possible you're telling the truth, it's also unverifiable. With two sources contradicting your claim, I'm afraid I don't believe you.
