Quote:From the Paragonwiki page, in case people are too lazy to follow the provided links (not a direct copy-paste, though):Statesman and the rest of the signature heroes have Praetorian counterparts...what about Lord Recluse and the signature villains? Do they have Praetorian counterparts? If so, is there any info out there about them?

- Praetorian Lord Recluse: Dead
- Praetorian Ghost Widow: Alive (not a ghost), part of the Resistance
- Praetorian Calvin Scott (Aurora Borealis' husband): Head of the Resistance
- Praetorian Aurora Borealis: Posessed by Mother Mayhem (Praetorian Sister Psyche)
- Praetorian Nemesis: Died of old age in Prussia, decades ago, a happy old man
- Praetorian Hamidon: Unknown status. Released the Devouring Earth much earlier in Praetoria than in Primal Earth, and as such the DE have a much larger foothold in that dimension (this is also the reason why Cole is emperor)
- Praetorian Invisible Falcon (aka Ghost Falcon): Living in our version of Peregrine Island
- Praetorian Carnival of Shadows: Heroes known as the Carnival of Light

Quote:Multiple accounts does not make subscription numbers misleading in the slightest. The numbers about how many subscribers COX has is highly misleading, because many of those are from people hacing MULTIPLE accounts.
While it is a reason, I seriously doubt that it is the chief reason for someone to have multiple accounts.Quote:The chief reason for multiple accounts is that it facilitates PL'ng.
There have been a number of improvements to the leveling speed, such that getting to 50 doesn't take all that long, even without PLing. I recall on a Double XP weekend I took a new character from 1 to 50 in just 3 days by simply playing on teams. No PLing required. Then there's people with a newfangled thing called "patience" who don't care how long it takes to reach 50. They may only play a couple hours a week, but they don't mind how many months it takes them to reach 50 on a new character.Quote:For someone to have THAT much time on their hands would be pretty sad actually because his/ her life is missing something...a job...girlfirend...attending to their family...etc.
Considering the number of arguments over PLing I've witnessed, I would say your conclusion is inaccurate. The fault lies on both sides of the fence. On one side is people against PLing, who try to convince the PLers to stop. On the other side is people in favor of PLing, who try to convince the developers to make changes that make PLing easier and more attractive. While you don't generally see the PLer crowd saying "you should play the game my way!", what you generally do see is, in my opinion, worse: "the game should change so that my way is even better!"Quote:You never (or atleast I never have) see people who PL/farm telling those who don't how to play the game because the feeling largely is that, if they don't want to handle it that way, that's their choice. It's the Anti-PL'ers / Anti-farmers who are the ones consistently trying to shove their viewpoint down someone else's throat.
So if trying to convince you to change playstyle is disrespectful and "really freakin' pathetic", what is complaining about it on an internet forum, if not "even more pathetic"?Quote:when someone stops and takes the time to give me *&%# for a playstyle that's different than thiers, THAT is disrespectful...and really freakin' pathetic.
Remember, kids, it's all pretendy fun time games -

Quote:http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/PermaOOh quick question while I have peoples attention, how much global recharge is needed to Perma hasten, I currently have 120% with hasten up and 50% without, how much more would I need?

Quote:When I wrote that there is no efficient solution, that was in reference to the TSP (which I compared to your suggestion, so I can easily understand the confusion). Also, there's a big difference between "easy" and "efficient".My only intention was to defend the proposition that there may exist such an algorithm, largely to avoid the implication of "no easy solution is possible here--it is a waste of time" from dissuading further discussion on the matter.
Bubble Sort is easy to write, but inefficient. Quick Sort is much harder to write than Bubble Sort, but also much more efficient

Quote:Or it could mean they're adding global enhancement slots, which would just increase demandWhat this could mean is that Going Rogue will feature an event that will drop a guaranteed purple recipe... which would only be for level 50 players.

Besides, the majority of RMT comes from Chinese IP addresses. -
Quote:I agree that anything Christmas-related should be banned until Black Friday (with possible exception to "Christmas In July" celebrations). However, once it gets this close to Christmas, I don't mind one bitSorry to be a scrooge, but NO! I've been sick of Christmas before it began.
Over here we had people selling Christmas trees and decorations a week before HALLOWE'EN!

Quote:What's wrong with this one? The nature of difficulty setting has changed, but you still change them with the Hero Corps or Fateweaver.A Hero Corps representative or Fateweaver can make your missions tougher for you, for a price.
This is still true, though with the new difficulty settings it's not the only way to increase spawn size. -
Quote:The reason it's the same is because the Hero Gear Kit IS CoH CE. Specifically, the leftover ones. And NCSoft has been out of Hero Gear Kits for some time now. This is a once-a-year opportunity, but if you go to Hero Con, or have a friend who goes, you can pick up a Hero Gear Kit (for as long as they keep offering them, at least) for $20. This gets you the badge, the sprint, the cape, the physical goodies, and a month of game time. As far as the changes to your account are concerned, it's identical to getting a Collector's Edition.

Quote:I don't have anything resembling a formal proof. My post was based entirely on intuition coming from my experience in programming and in optimizing various builds while still being playable. If this statement included some form of formal proof or a pointer to some convincing information, that'd be awesome. Otherwise, I have no idea whether this statement is correct or not. I could just as easily claim otherwise. It's an interesting hypothesis. I'd love to know if it were true in general. Either way, I am fairly confident that perhaps all solutions to the problem of softcapping defense for particular power selections can be found within a few seconds on modern day desktops. This is because the number of variables and constraints is relatively small (and not particularly difficult).
In order to give you a proof, I'd have to actually spend time working on the problem. At the moment, I'm more concerned with getting the garbage collector for my Programming Languages class working properly, completing my exams for this semester, working on my Advanced Game Programming project, working on Cross-Platform Mids', getting together (and spending time) with my family for the holidays, and dealing with the aftermath of my opa's funeral. Proving the complexity classification for a CoH build optimizer algorithm is rather low on my list of priorities, so I wrote about my gut reaction in the hope that it might help you find the answer you're looking for. -

Also, integer programming is generally NP-hard. What is being suggested sounds a lot like a CoH build version of the Traveling Salesman problem (or, a little bit different, since the TSP forbids visiting the same city twice, while the proposed problem allows multiple sets in the same power, and multiple copies of the same set). There is a solution. There is no efficient algorithm for finding that solution. The runtime required to find the solution should also increase exponentially with the number of slots available for the level you're shooting at. -
I definitely agree here; PBAoE knockback is the most problematic.
Targeted AoE and Cone KB powers exhibit the exact same behavior, FYI. The only difference is which critters get hit. -
Just because a game is listed as "Used" on Amazon, doesn't mean the code has actually been used. A product gets thrown on Amazon's "Used" list as son as it's bought and gets put up to be resold, even if the box hasn't been opened once.
Now, I'm sure some of the copies listed as Used actually are, and I wouldn't advise anyone purchase from the Used list, but just because it's listed doesn't mean the lister is a scumbag. -

True, but the minions also ask their leaders things like, "Does this mean I have to get rid of my PSP?"

The Tree of Life DE emanator is targetable (so that you can destroy it), but I'm pretty sure Spirit Tree (from Plant Control) is just a clone of Traps > Triage Beacon, with different graphics.

AoE KB has an obvious and glaring problem: the powers have only a chance to KB, which means some targets will go flying and others will not. The obvious solution is to make the KB always occurr, and the KB users will always have exact and direct control over where they place the baddies
-
While I also disagree with the suggestion, I have long been an advocate of a "clear slot" enhancement. It would be a special IO that, when slotted, clears the slot of any existing enhancement, and puts the enhancement that was there in your tray. Essentially, an alternative to respec recipes for people who just want to change/move enhancements around.

They're closet technophiles.
Anyone else remember the Banished Pantheon Masks exploding into robot parts? I encountered them again recently and they exploded into wood bits, so that seems to be fixed, but I always thought the masks exploding like robots was hilarious. -

Quote:If the Blaster killed the target, it doesn't matter whether the attack had KB or not, the effect would be the same (unless you're a Warshade and the KB knocked the corpse out of range for one of your corpse-targeting abilities, which is a pretty far edge case). If the Blaster prevented you from using your queued Headsplitter because he killed the target, then you should be thanking him, because now you're not wasting your Headsplitter and waiting for it to recharge, but instead you have the chance to use it on another unsuspecting vict-- target.Let's say I'm in my groove, beating down a Lt. or a generic boss class mob. Things are going fine and I queue up Headsplitter. It doesn't go off because some blaster knocked the mobs away from me. Let's even say the Blaster killed the mob.
That annoys me. I didn't need, want or enjoy the KB. I don't want that chaos.

Yeah, for psi melee, I recommend any bladed weapon set, using pink Vanguard weapons once you get to 35.
