Why are you still asserting that it's easier to raise one defense attribute than it is to raise three, as if it's some huge discovery?

Quote:I believe the OP is asking about the internet traffic used by the game, in which case, yes the game uploads and downloads information while ou play. That's how it communicates with the server. No, it does not download while you're playing. You will be kicked off of play if they need you to download a new version of the game.
However, this is a video game, with realtime combat, at that. In order for a game like this to run smoothly, the developers have to keep the network traffic to a minimum. The amount of information sent to and from the server should not amount to much with regard to your internet service, unless you're literally playing 24/7. -
You've got about a 10% chance to get the Snowball temp power every time you open a Mystery Gift.

The people doing it are probably going for the present-opening badge, or just trying to get Nice presents for candy canes.
Also: The preset will respawn regardless of whether there are Winter Horde standing there or not. If the present respawns and there is a player within range, the Winter Horde will simply die.
In short: If there are Winter Horde standing there, alive, there's no present anyway. -
Quote:My Mastermind got Gold on both courses using only the Zero-G Pack.People have reported getting gold on the Advanced course with just Sprint + IR.
NR is equal to SJ in this regard. This means NR, SJ, and Zero-G Pack (which is a clone of SJ, without the ability to slot it) are tied for second-best powers to use on the ski runs. The best is Inertial Reduction.
I believe speed caps do factor into ski run times, which means it may be mechanically impossible to get Gold with a level 5 character. -
Quote:And you won't be proven wrong about that statement because it's true. Similarly, buying a house is easier than buying a house, a boat, and a car.My statement was that M is easier to get then s/l/f/c/e/n, wich i'd very like to be proven wrong about. =P
Melee Defense set bonuses are paired with Smashing and Lethal Defense bonuses. Ranged and AoE Defense bonuses are similarly paired with E/N and F/C. Saying "M is easier to get then[sic] s/l/f/c/e/n" is exactly equivalent to saying "M is easier to get than M, R, and A".
Of course Melee Defense is easier to gather than the collection of S/L/F/C/N/E; you're comparing gathering one bonus to gathering three. -

Run speed DOES NOT HELP on the ski slopes. You want MovementControl and MovementFriction, which are granted by jumping powers: Combat Jumping, Zero-G Pack, Super Jump, Inertial Reduction, and Ninja Run, to name a few.
For the Gold, you also usually need a little bit of twitch reflexes, which some people simply don't have. But the RunSpeed doesn't help any. -
Care to give examples? Because aside from the "Stop Soandso from escaping!" missions, the only examples I cant think of for any of the other suggestions occur only a handful of times (like... once), and are not very much like the mission type being suggested.

Quote:CC + OG doesn't sound like that great of a combo. Chance for minion stun aura + super expensive chance for minion hold aura? The effects don't stack, and CC is really expensive.A Necro/Rad w/ choking cloud and oppressive gloom running into the center of the spawn.
Kinetics for MMs isn't really that big of a deal now that pets are unaffected by recharge. The only problem I could foresee would be a damage-capped Arsonist controlled by a player who really knows how to leverage the Arsonist's [Fire Bomb]... which still doesn't have a target cap, btw.Quote:Wait WHAT! IF YOU THINK THEY WILL GIVE KINETICS TO MASTERMINDS IT WILL BE SO INSANE NO ONE WILL EVER CHOSE ANYTHING ELSE BECAUSE SET DIFFICULTY TO +0/X8 AND YOU HAVE PETS THAT HIT OVER 100 FOR THE WEAKEST MOVE!
caps used for screaming effect
And getting the Arsonist to hit more than 3 targets with Fire Bomb (and keep the targets in the burn patches at the same time) is hard work. -
Quote:Of course, you can't use an inspiration on yourself while animating a power, eitherThe biggest issue with pet insp that I see is that you cannot drop an inspiration onto a pet unless the pet is not currently executing an attack, it can be frustrating to try to drop a green or a red onto your assault bot when he's flamethrowing all over the place.

As described, I would only say the "Escape" mission type really exists currently. But yes, "Stop Soandso from escaping!" missions are rarely enjoyed by the playerbase at large.

I wasn't even making fun of the spelling. I was laughing at the logic behind what he meant to post.

I thought the answer to all GR threads was "Soon™"

Fair enough; I didn't think about the non-travel pool powers. But that's still 3-5 (depending on if you're a City Traveler or if you would have used Ninja Run otherwise) powers you wouldn't have otherwise taken.

Quote:School of Sharks, Spirit Shark, and Spirit Shark Jaws all create landsharksthey couldn't have them chase players onto land, because that would be silly.

More seriously, if they just wanted sharks in the water, why not treat them as citizens? (if they don't aggro and can't be killed, then they'll stick to their preset paths, yes?) -
Quote:Either that, or have them all swarm on top of Ms Liberty so that nobody could train...People whose characters could fly would elude their rescuees' attempts to thank them and cruise around Atlas Park accumulating a vast horde of grateful citizens, then take them to the plaza and get their bizarre kicks out of seeing how low they could make the local frame rate.

Quote:There are already a fair number of missions like this. It's also frequently considered an unpopular type of mission (I'm looking at you, Crimson)The "OMG he's escaping!" mission
Again simple, make it so some of the bosses or av's we have to fight have escape plans. I always thought the one mission where you have to bust one of the council leaders was cool, because he would try and escape you thru some of the elevators in the mission. this is a simple concept, it could be as easy as having them run for the door, or they could run down a hallway to a secret helicopter waiting on the roof. It doesn't have to move or anything, just if the bad guy gets to it, game over. This would bring in some mission failures, and would have to be remedied by having the heroes or villains take another shot at taking down the particular boss, but shouldn't make the tf or arc they are included in terribly longer than it already is (coughkatietfcough) -
Yes, BotZ and WG both have extremely good set bonuses, especially considering the effect per slot. With the various Sprint powers barred from taking Universal Travel sets, the only way you can stack the BotZ/WG set bonuses is by using up all your power pools on travel, not to mention all those power picks. And even then, you don't hit the 5-bonus cap.
