I don't think they're so bad, if you have a jetpack or other flight power, and I don't mean that in the sense of "not so bad because they are skippable." They're much faster than a jetpack, so it's a shame not to use them on my characters that don't have Fly and Afterburner, but as you say, control isn't great... in fact it's downright frustrating. What I do is buy a jetpack and use it only to correct missed jumps. Secondary advantage to that? Since it's only toggled on for a few seconds at a time, it doesn't run out of fuel like ever, even on long TFs.

Well, it's a nice-looking costume design that I would compliment if I saw ingame, but... it doesn't look like Powergirl now. :<

Stopped by the tailor and saw this:
See that thingy under my first three costumes? Does anyone have a clue what it is? I've never seen it before... it had no apparent effect, and disappeared when I closed and re-opened the tailor window. -
If you want it to look like Ghost Widow's powers, yeah, I would go with bright.

I have yet to hear a valid reason for why we don't have the Legacy Chain chest detail and shoulders - so far I have only heard "because the game doesn't support chest details with attached shoulders," but that doesn't explain why the necklace (a chest detail) and the pauldrons (a shoulder detail) have to be one solid piece. Female Carnies already demonstrate the shoulders used without the necklace part, so why not just allow them to be selected separately? It's not as if chest details that wrap around to the back are anything new - we already have the Roman, Samurai, and Resistance armor, and the various corsets that female characters get.
Hopefully, the real reason these weren't in the Carnival of Light pack is that there is a real Legacy Chain pack coming, either currently being worked on (to fix the vertex weights of the existing geometry for use on player characters, and to cut up the helmets into however many detail parts they'd need), or in the pipes...
*crosses fingers* -
Then you have only yourself to blame, as you could have gone and looked to see what you were buying before spending money on it at any time, and chose not to. Besides, even after it went live you could have looked at the parts in the tailor before deciding to purchase anyway.

I'm VIP, so I'm not sure if I am eligible for this... but if so, here's The Illumineer. Not perfectly accurate anymore, because I've changed her power customization to blue-white instead of pale yellow (it bugged me how her rocket jets and Power Mastery APP didn't match everything else), but the costume's the same. She's Ill/Rad, with a light-manipulating theme.

Quote:Wait, what? That's ridiculous. Looking at the ParagonWiki page for AE badges underscores how tragic and unfair a loss this is - think of all the steampunk characters who have lost Adventurer, the sonic-users who have lost Bard, the Cabalists who have lost Maven, the robots who have lost Galvanized, the gamblers who have lost Jackpot, the super-speeders who have lost Hotshot, the golden-agers who have lost To The Rescue, the Bane Spiders who have lost Executioner, to name a few... if we can't get them back as AE badges, we should at least make some noise to get them attached to other things. The ones for hostage rescues could be tied to police missions with hostage rescues, for instance, and the Heroic/Villainous badge chains could be tied to tips. All of the AE badges were very, very cool sounding. Here is a list AE Badges
At least "Poor Impulse Control" remained after the great AE badge yank of 2009.
Too bad they deemed them 'encouraging farming', as if farmers cared about badges. I really want to petition to get them back, but alas, I'm pretty sure it won't happen and it's not worth the fight. -
You know what could be done with this that makes origins actually do something while not screwing with people's game mechanics? Differing dialogue options, like in that one Praetorian mission that has you defusing the bombs, or the Origin Of Power arcs. The end result is the same, nobody's concept gets gimped by having the "wrong" origin for their powersets, and what origin someone has is still not shoved into the corner. If it's nothing but a question of writing, it shouldn't step on anyone's conceptual toes.

My fortunata's badge title is "Misbegotten." She is a half-human-half-Rularuu escaped product of mad science, and while not quite an eldritch abomination, definitely a Thing That Should Not Be.
My ill/rad controller's title is "Forward Thinker." She's a time-displaced suffragette and mad scientist.
My time/sonic defender and grav/kin controller are two versions of the same character. He's a Midnight Squad sorcerer, born in 1919 and still essentially living in the 1940s, who maintains immortality by tricking enemies out of their own lifespans. One version of him has the title "Old Timer," the other "Old Fashioned." Come I22, "Old Timer" will be replaced with "Time Saver." He has also been "Midnighter Archivist" in the past (he's a librarian).
My stone/energy tank was once a stone/SS tank, but a Terra Volta trial gone horribly wrong changed his powers rather more significantly than it should have (this is just his backstory; I never rerolled anyone) and now he glows in the dark. He's "Irradiated."
My Zombies/Poison MM is Ebolavirus-themed. He's "Plague Carrier."
My Pistols/Time corruptor wears a red trench coat and broad-brimmed hat, and is named Double-Dealing Diva (google that if you're not sure what song it's from). She's "Unethical Tourist."
Lastly, I have three Mender characters who, like Tesseract and Lazarus, are blatant expies of time-travelers from other sources. From one of these two sources, we have Mender Zeal the dark/dark corruptor with the title "Dark Omen," and Mender Epoch (pictured in my avatar) the bots/fire MM with the title "Time Machinist." From the other source we have Mender Lathrop the kin/elec defender who I could only wish I could title "Doc" and still have him remain blue, as he should be.
Lastly, I always think of Mender Lazarus as having the badge title "Glimpsed The Abyss." -
The hero-to-stay-hero tips are different from the rogue-to-become-hero tips. The two you did were of the latter variety.

Quote:I am reminded of this comic. The Cracked article in the OP is discussing comic book art in the context of the male gaze. Which is to say, that the art is created with an eye toward men reading the comics. Which is to say that the description of how Namor's depiction works is accurate in that context. Obviously, real life is messier than theory.
I can see what Arcanaville is arguing, but I have only seen "but men are objectified too" brought up to counter discussions about how women are objectified and sexualized. I wouldn't mind seeing a discussion of the topic that wasn't used as an attempt to derail, but I have not yet been witness to such. -
I want some trenchcoats and fedoras for my robots. Nothing to see here, citizen!

Yeah, every time I'm on a Lambda and Marauder shouts "There isn't enough time to stop me!"
My main is a time manipulator. He begs to differ. -
You know, as much of an ego trip as it would be, I don't think a single one of my characters would be a fitting member of the Freedom Phalanx. The only one that even comes close is part of a secret-society RPSG anyway and I enjoy playing Illumineer too much to consider having to remove her from the group, which I would surely have to do if she became such a public figure.
Well, there is another who comes close, but Atomsmash is already just Positron Lite, so he'd be kind of meh. -
I've thought this would be cool for a while. I want my own NPCs!
Forbin has a very important point though; even if they were in the game I probably couldn't have them anyway cause my laptop sucks. -
I seem to remember Positron saying something about PVP and how it wouldn't be fair, and completely missing the point that we only want to turn it off in PVE.

Yes please. I want to be able to use my nuke as a nuke, not as a suicide button. Dreadful Wail has such a lovely hourglass-shaped animation that it pains me not to take it on my Time/Sonic defender.

Vial of Bees
(In all seriousness though it would be long-range teleport; I currently live several states away from everyone I ever cared about.) -
Fair enough. I apologize if I sounded sharp, I do tend to read into things in ways that weren't intended and then respond in kind.

Captain Blackout is a damn good name.
