Does booster cost more at the physical store instead of the cyber one?

    Getting keys...

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can't buy the Booster pack at the store. You can buy the Architect boxed edition that COMES with a free Booster pack
  2. *sigh* There's only so long I can sit here drooling on the keyboard moaning "Magic paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack...."

    What's the hold up?! It's 12:47pm EST!

Yeah well lotta good it'll do ya. You get a code that's redeemable for one of the Booster packs.. if the pack ain't available.... *cries* I want it!!!!!!!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Based on what the person who's picked up Architect Edition said, it sounds as though you get the Magic costume pieces as soon as you install it/redeem the code. I think the whole 'you can use the code for either one of the booster packs' thing may have been speculation, or there's some method of redeeming the code that bypasses the store and just lets you pick the Magic Booster straightaway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It was never speculation. We were told it would be that way.
  4. Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaains......

    Er...

    Magic paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.............

  5. I think you meant this post to be in another thread Father LOL

add to this the fact that the OS in general is a memory [censored] that wants 2gb of ram to run ITSELF, it means that only higher end machines can run it decently. others would have to upgrade their machines.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Although I agree with much of what you said, it's actually false. Vista did not require 2GB of RAM to run itself, the amount of RAM it uses is based on YOUR usage. You should probably look up some info on pre-fetching. A quick explanation is Vista loads a lot of the things you normally run into memory as cache. What this does is allows the software you use every day to load a lot faster (Does this actually work? Not as well as was boasted).

That is why it loads up on memory usage. The problem is, Microsoft did such a horrible job implementing it.

Hope that clears it up for you

I have not tried to test W7 but from all i read it seems to be leaps and bounds ahead of Vista. Does anyone know when it is going to be released?

[/ QUOTE ]All signs are pointing to august of this year for RTM. Which is good in a way but I already feel we will be in for the same ride we had with vista with people loading it on under par machines and [censored] drivers and swearing up and down that its the OS.

    [/ QUOTE ]

ER, the laptop I installed win7 on at first had a celeron proc and 512MB of RAM. It performs all normal work functions without issue. Exactly opposite of what I experienced with vista.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is actually what I consider to be one of the cool features of Windows 7. The fact that it's able to run rather smoothly on older hardware, unlike Vista. Taking the time to read as much info on Windows 7 as one can find, you'll notice a lot of the reviews and such show really good feedback in regards to running on older hardware. Coupled with how well it runs with newer hardware, it appears to be very versatile.

Unless Microsoft drops the ball between now and and it's release, it looks like Windows 7 is shaping up to be a fantastic OS

sunblaster, speaking from a pvp perspective, the ability to have one or 2 extra powers/slots because of this is a HUUUUUUUUUGE change. think about it. while most of you cry when pvprs speak, its still a part of the game. this award could potentially become very game altering for that portion of the game. i can think of a hundred or more situaions, where in pvp, having one extra power would make you an unbeatable god against your opponent. something they tried to cure w i12 if you recall. bad move.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I call BS. One power will not make you an 'unbeatable god'. That's totally ridiculous. The extra power that can/will be taken due to this will almost always end up being something with very little value. 5 year vets have been playing this game a long time and by this point will be well aware of which powers to take, and which to avoid. Add to that a PvP vet and you will find that not only are they well versed in their powers, they've also worked out builds for the most part and have ALREADY taken everything they're going to need as per their build.

Anything extra is going to be extra period. So they can take Vengeance with Phase now. Who cares? That does not an unbalanced game this make. Just to clarify this again, most PvP'ers/vets already have their builds setup with everything they need. Adding one power does not overpower them. Nor does it unbalance the game. The powers left over once you've factored in the necessities for your build are HARDLY that valuable. This concern/whine is misplaced.
  9. Quick Reply:

For those who think this is huge and absolutely ruins the game for them, build a bridge. This is a reward for paying/playing this game for 60 months. 5 years worth of subscription fees, nerfs, DOOM claims, listening to people whine about this and that, listening to people whine about vet rewards etc etc. The 60 month vet reward does not break the game, nor does it change the game so drastically.

It opens up 1 to 2 powers/slots at best. That's hardly even remotely enough to destroy the balance of the game. Let's look at the fact that most reasonable people skip ridiculous powers in their primary/secondary sets anyway. After playing for 5 years, you most assuredly know which powers to skip in your powersets. That being said, your build might already be planned out and the only change is when you get the travel power. How many of the powers left (in the end) are you even spastically waiting to take? Not many. Oh noez! I can take another pool power, which automatically makes me better than everyone else!

The real issue I see with this, that nobody seems to have caught....

Mixing and matching powers between the travel sets is very nice. It's almost...dare I say, incarnate like? Why on earth would such a neat ability like this be wasted in such a way? Is this to say there won't be an Incarnate EAT? I know they were never confirmed, but they have been hinted towards. This ability should have been saved for something like that I would think.
  10. Should be installing it by booting from a DVD. As this is in it's first beta, I wouldn't expect features like the upgrade to function fully and or properly. I've also never attempted to install an OS to another hard drive through another OS. A fresh install on its own partition or hard drive is recommended.
  11. Just as a side note...

Some will find that nVidia's 185.20 drivers work better than the WDDM 1.1 drivers offered through Windows Update and vice versa. Use whichever works best for you.

Personally, the WDDM 1.1 drivers cause severe artifacts and cause my GPU temps to rise very rapidly. The 185.20 64-bit drivers on the other hand are near perfect on my machine. I'm using an nVidia 8600GT card.

Your mileage will vary of course. Aside from all of that, I'm running Windows 7 Build 7000 64-bit with little to no issues and I'm absolutely loving it.

Downloaded the 32bit ISO today but haven't burnt or installed it yet.

As I haven't heard of any radical improvements over vista, I don't have high hopes, but just as with vista, I'll run the beta for a while to see what's what.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You need to pay more attention to the news There are benchmarks popping up that show it's a vast improvement over Vista and comes up above XP as well. That's pretty radical

    [/ QUOTE ]

Searching around right now shows 7 beating Vista and XP on boot times. And that's about it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm interesting. Wonder why this shows differently.

  14. I'm running Windows 7 (build.7000) with an nVidia 8600GT with the unreleased 185.x drivers from nVidia. You can find them on Google. Windows 7 blows Vista (and even XP) out of the water in terms of speed.

If the benchmarks thus far are any indication of where Windows 7 is headed, it will definitely be the next XP. I think Microsoft glued the ball to their hand this time.
  15. I'm not sure what's happened. I don't think anyone is at this point. That being said, regardless of how some may treat you and or vocally express their disdain for NCSoft and their employees (Devs, community reps, support etc), you will absolutely be missed.

Thank you for all your hard work and countless hours trying to keep us as happy as possible, however impossible that job actually is.

    Good luck in your future.

Awesome. Now when do we get the top portion of the Cyborg outfit? I can't think of a single valid reason why a costume would be released incomplete, while charging to obtain said incomplete set.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The top pieces were in at launch. Try selecting the Cyborg full costume option. The cyborg pieces are under robotic arms.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sadly, you are mistaken. There is no Cyborg top piece. The costume set uses ExProto as it's top piece. So no, it is not a complete costume set. At least this is true for the female side, male side may have it *shrug*

I find it rather hilarious that the rig shown has AMD and ATI in it, when the game, and these message boards have Intel and NVidia stamped all over it.

Oh, and maybe it should come with a printout of BillZBubba's ATI guide to get it to work with CoH/V.........

    [/ QUOTE ]

I find this hilarious as well. But it's not just the boards that are plastered with it, aren't the loading screens also plastered with Intel/nVidia logos? Hmmm....I think someone made an oopsie somewhere while putting together this prize
  19. Quick Reply:

Not to sound logical or the like, but....if you're partnered in this in any way NCSoft, you should be able to either officially answer these questions that have arisen about a contest you are A PART OF, or at the very least get the answers to these questions.

It seems rather odd to me that you slap your product as the main tool to be used in this contest, but can't seem to answer any of the questions being asked about the official rules?

Am I the only one who finds that ridiculous?

Let me also take this time to point out that - whereas I am happy that you are addressing the lag, it would also be very nice for the invasion admin spam messages be limited to one channel. Some will say that I am whinning, however, to them I say: I pay for the game which I play - I also took voiced my concerns about the Admin spam before it went live. That being said - who in their right mind is going to pay for a product or service and let the one being paid (the provider) dictate what they will let them do with it? The way this works is: My dime - your time - I pay to play - you should pave the way.

Actually all I am saying is - 'Is it really necessary for the Admin Spam to be on EVERY Channel? No?! I think not either - please limit it to one channel and let me decide when and if I wish to be spammed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Clearly you haven't bothered to read the other FULL threads on this issue You'd probably have been informed about how there are NO CHANNELS LEFT. The devs have already stated this is the case and apologized for it, but there's nothing they can do at the moment. After the event is finished, those messages will nearly disappear, only coming up when someone completes the Lady Grey TF. Too bad your dime can't be converted to education. Carry on spending your dime
  21. I'm not really sure what you consider the "biggest MMORPG in America" but statistics would indicate WoW. There is at least one WoW person listed there. So I'm not sure what you're getting at?
  22. I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you'll be reimbursing the same items? I'd like my rare costume piece back above everything else, and don't really want anything in place of that. I had a lot of things up for sale, but the costume piece was most important as it is rare. You've been perfectly clear about how inspiration and enhancement items will be returned, but haven't really been clear on recipes/salvage and or if they'll be returned the same way

Thanks for the heads up though. If we could just squeeze a tiny bit more info out of you, I'd be happy

You did a fine job on the costume. Did you photoshop it after the render, or paint on the texture map to link in Poser?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thank you! I Photoshopped after the render. I created a nude pose, exported it as a PNG and then opened up in Photoshop and went to town. I'm not a newbie Photoshopper so that part wasn't uber hard for me. There was probably 30 different layers on this one

The hair is shadowed perfectly. You had me fooled, dynamic Poser hair couldn't have been placed any better.
You're off to a great start.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's actually not Poser hair I literally found a photo online of the hair I wanted, cut it out and pasted it. I changed the color and shadowed it as best I could. (To be honest I'm the worst at shadowing. I have no sense of a lights point of origin LOL).

Thanks to all the other comments as well I may work on another character I have as well. Problem is I really have very limited knowledge of Poser hehe.
  24. It took maybe 5 minutes in Poser to create the pose, and about 2 hours in Photoshop for the rest!

The costume is all painted on using Photoshop. The body is from Poser 7 and the hair is a cut and paste of a hairdo I found online.

This my very first time creating anything using Poser/Photoshop. I hope you enjoy it Let me know what you think!
