I switch from Symantec long ago to this -- it is very nice

    Rogue Blues

I thought it would be interesting to have a mastermind on the blue side as this is the only type AT like no other there. But when I get to the blue side I see the disadvantages right off. In order to get an arc contact I did 5 radio missions and got offered to protect a bank. It was late and I went to sleep. The next day I see that my bank mission is GONE! So I have top repeat all 5 radio missions again?

Plus when I look for a team all I see is the red side zones in the search. I know that if I do 10 more tips I can become a hero, but my villain base access will go away right?

Are there any disadvantages being a rogue of the red side?

What is the advantage of being a rogue and then doing 10 more tip missions towards rogue?

What is the advantage being a villain and doing 10 tip missions on villain?
  3. Yea, but what gets me is that if my level 30 demon/therm mm out damages groups, why do players use a controller to farm?

  5. I haven't played my 43 Fire/Kin in years (after ED and slotted with standard IO's) and thought I would use him to farm some. I remember being able to blow through big groups very fast. Now it's hard to stay awake waiting. What happened?
  6. I have a 34 thugs/therm. They do a lot of damage, but the not when the arson is unable to stay alive 90% of the time. If the arson is dead you only have 5 pets, not 6 and so the high DPS drops. Thugs have no innate resistance like demons, bots, etc. Even with the thermal shields and heals I cannot keep that arson alive.

Also have a 42 bots/thermal and a 50 bots/dark. The thermal was soloing AV's at 35. Might have done it before that, but found this out accidentally when I was soloing a x5 mission and an AV shows up. At first I started checking to see if I could put together a team to help, but then I looked back up at the bots and they were fighting the AV with their hit points still up. So I went in to help them and we killed it.

You say that bots do more damage then demons? I tried going after reds, oranges and yellows with both the 42 bots/therm and and also my 30 demons/therm. Even without the 32 upgrade, the demons take down the npcs much faster. I stopped playing the demons at 30 because the demons were dieing a lot even with the thermal shield on top of their high lethal/smash resistance. The Dev's must have fixed this because I was soloing +1/x4 missions last night and they never died. Their health rarely went down at all.

Tier 1 ninjas do a little damage, tier 2 ninjas do amazing damage for a henchman, but when the tier 3 pet did no damage even at 32. They just do holds and very minor damage. At least the tier 3 demon does massive damage on top of their hold. I abandoned this set because of the tier 2 pets doing 80% of the work. I expected the tier 3 ninja to be a master damage doer like bots, demons and thugs. Was really let down when it didn't. Putting Forge on that tier 3 ninja was a complete waste.

You ever try putting Hell on Earth, Forge and Assault on the Tier 3 demon? It is a 103% damage boost. I trained hasten to keep it on him as much as possible (also to keep the two debuffs up). The top three pets are normally at 62% with just Forge and Assault. Plus Hell on Earth is like Gangwar on thugs.

    I have a 33 DS/Dark, but Dark can't buff the pet's damage.

I had asked the above question, but when no one responded for hours I went and started doing tests on my own. At this point the demons have a high survival rate (all 6 pets doing DPS) and the ability to take reds down fast (not like the bots that make you fall asleep waiting) -- you ever make a bots/FF? Talk about being dead boring. I have yet to see what the demons will do when I get the 32 upgrade in 1.5 levels, combined with the damage buffs. So I am optimistic.
  7. Bots do great AoE's, but it seems you might fall asleep waiting for them to kill something. Demons seem to kill stuff pretty fast. Is this true or am I just dreaming?
  8. You said bane was 3rd highest. When I looked at the comparison on MIDS, it said the highest DPS (damage per second) was a fire blaster, then a claws scrapper -- so bane third? My signature says claws is the highest. Yes the fire blaster is a little higher, but when you do that much DPS you are going to have to run away while the claws scrapper continues to fight. So in that sense the scrapper is highest.
  9. Thanks for the help all -- oh and by the way, that 50 scrapper, plus a 50 defender and mm were all made prior to ED. After they reached 50 I never played them again.

The reason I made a bane was this: I crafted the temp power Gabriel's Hammer for a SS/SD Brute that needed more attacks. I was simply amazed with the damage it did. I searched every other character to find that type of amazing damage. Thought it would be a Mace brute, but that damage weakened as time went on. Then I respec'ed my Huntsman to a Bane and tried that. This was the AT I was looking for. It does this amazing damage. Like one shotting a red npc. His defense was no where near the frail epic heroes PB's and WS's.

Question? Do you sell SO's on the market? I have just been dumping them on vendors.
  10. Ever since enhancement diversification came out it has become increasingly harder to slot my characters. When you get above 30 you start to jump for joy when all the slots come in, but after a few times, you start to wonder where you are going to put them all.

    Weapons usually get 6 slots

Defenses only get 2 Defense enhancements and a endurance reduction. You can add a 3rd DEF, but your defense will only up 1% or less

Adding any more than 2 recharge enhancement on a power is a waste unless it is Hasten or another very long timer.

Stam is two as well as the third is only a tiny improvement.

Then there are all those singles -- swift/hurdle, combat jumping, acrobatics, health and more.

And lets not forget the prerequisite powers like boxing, aid other, hover, etc.

Some players need all those slots because they use sets. But when I looked at that and things like reactive armor cost 30 million each, I forgot about that in a hurry.

Either they give us more worth in the slots, increase the drop rate of rare items so the prices drop way down or I'm gonna have to look for another mmorpg that makes sense.

My bane just hit 40 and couldn't train as there was no other place to put the 3 slots he would get. If i can't train, there is no reason to keep playing him.

I don't have the billions it would cost to get to 50.
  11. This was a great idea until it was posted and then a thousand people did it. Now it no longer works. Prices for the above recipes and others have soared. Guess we're back to farming again.
  12. After playing Masterminds for the last few years I have looked for the very best set. The Demons had a high resistance to damage and Thermal increased it even more, but it didn't seem to matter as they drop in health anyway due to no Defense. I thought of using traps or FF to alter this, but then no heals for the damage they do take. Aid other is too clumsy and sluggish. In all the secondary sets available to demons I have yet to see one that worked well.

The best MM set I have played to date was Bots/Thermal for the Defense, Resistance, heals, debuffs and buffs. You lose the 103.25% damage buff from Hell on Earth (HoE), Forge and Leadership's Assault, but still get 66% without the HoE. This set has successfully soloed both AV's and Heroes since level 35 (as early as I tried). Later on using Melt Armor and Heat Exhaustion, you trash any AV.

The Demons seem to do more damage than the bots. This is why I was looking for an answer for them.
  13. An 11 year veteran of mmogs is looking for an active SG on Virtue (blue side) -- EST.

Tired of the SG's that just have lots of new players signing up everyday, only to go inactive the next day and a few old timers that have been offline for years. Also tired of the bases that have rooms and rooms of worthless deco with no function what-so-ever. And finally tired of the SG's that set promotions extremely high with no access except to real life friends.

(I run a VG on the red side of this server called the Red Dragons. First promotion (Dragon) has access to 6 salvage bins for only 15,000 prestige. There are additional rooms with more racks and enhancement storage off the main workshop area for the higher ranks. The Dragon Veteran room is full of rares. The workshop area is right off the entrance. On the other three sides of the entrance is the telepads room, medical with a bot, and the conference room. This base provides easy access to its members for things they need a base for, without searching through miles of lagged, deco filled rooms).

So the red side is covered. Looking for blue side SG.

Mostly play my lead tank called "Alpha Defense". He just turned 36 and his role is running ahead and jumping into a large mob, taking the "alpha" and holding them there for others to attack without worry. Alpha has an AoE that goes off every 8 seconds and does some other damage (just trained Energy Transfer). He doesn't have the lower tier'ed damage powers to build up his tanking abilities.

Interested in TF's as well as missions with a regular group of game vets. Yes, PUG's are okay, but when someone quits the team after every mission if get very slow. In other mmogs I have played with regular teams where we meet a few nights a week. The team is well balanced and flies through missions with ease, but is also cautious and knowledgeable with the difficult ones.
  14. I played thermal with thugs to 33, bots to 42, necro to 22 and ninja to 32. Recently I tried Demons and that build is holding at about 22. The reason it is holding is due to a problem with the resistance defense. Even capped at 90% resistance I still take massive damage (hard to keep healed).

Anyway I have also played Pain with Ninjas to 32. Pain was a lot of healing and the Suppress Pain power is worthless on a mm due to the low hit points of your pets. Painbringer comes too late at 38 and has a long recharge time (2 minutes with two recharge reductions in it). With the 90 second duration you can have your one pet buffed only 75% of the time.

On thermal Forge is available at level 28. With 2 recharge reductions in it, the recharge is only 30 seconds. Since it has a two minute duration you can buff all three of your top pets on a constant basis. With Assault from the Leadership pool and Forge your top pets stay at 66.25% damage bonus!

The heals on pain are higher than thermal, but then you need it that high as you won't have the shields to reduce the damage amount.

You may not like the shields, but they can turn a team being wiped to a winning team.

At level 35 on my bots/thermal I started soloing AV's and heroes. You can't solo them with pain.
  15. I lost 18 mil this morning. Put in a ticket to support. No reply yet. Apparently they must think I am one of those farmers and 18 mil means nothing. It was all I had on that character and I want it back.
  16. Thanks for the info. I will proceed to level 32 and slot him as you said. Now I'm in suspense
  17. Oh, did not know he was there for holds. I guess putting damage io's on him is a waste?
  18. My bots/therm is 42. When I was 35 I was soloing a +1 x4 arc and saw an AV at the end. I started to look for others to help, but then I looked up and saw that the bots were attacking her and all of them at full health.... huh?

So I go up there and help out. It took about 5-6 minutes of chasing that AV coward, but we got her. After that I have been soloing AV's and Heroes. When you put Heat Exhaustion and Melt Armor on the AV's or Heroes, it just trashes them.

Forge lasts for 2 minutes and with just 2 recharge IO's it is up in about 30 seconds. So you can have it on your top three pets at all times. I also have 2 to-hit IO's in it. With assault running from the leadership pool the top bots have a constant damage bonus of over 65%.

I have tried soloing missions at -1 x8 to see the AoE action of the bots, but when you do this you don't get a bunch of blues and whites. It ramps it up and you end up with yellows and oranges. It is still doable with this build, but slow. I found that it is best at x4. Don't even think of soloing x1 missions. You have AoE kings here with +65% damage bonus. Use them with that advantage.

Since bots have an innate resistance to damage, stacking the thermal shields on them increases resistances up to 44%. That coupled with the defensive shields of the Protector bots, the bots rarely die. Your heals are there as a backup. Its not like Pain where you have low resistance and have to heal all the time. I have a 50 bots/dark mm. When my bots/therm was level 40 he was out killing the 50! Plus the therm is a lot more fun.

I tried playing a bots/FF but it's just dead boring. No buffs, no debuffs and no HEALS! Killing a large mob takes forever. You might as well go afk.

You will love the bots/therm. Once you get to 50 you will probably start another bots/therm just to experience that fun again.
  19. I understand that the first three minions are just there to get you started. The two Jounin do exceptional damage. But then I reach 26 and get the Oni, the damage is horrible. Now maybe it gets better at 32?

I am hoping that I don't have a mm with two real pets.
  20. I was wondering the same thing and decided to make a mm using the squishy, but high damaging Ninjas. My thinking was that Suppress Pain (SP) would turn the ninjas into Regen scrappers. I even trained it before training Stam as endurance was not an issue yet.

I slotted SP with 1 end reduction and 2 healing IO's. Sure, their regeneration bonus went up, but their base health is still low (the higher your hit points, the better Regen works).

So what was the result? SP made so little difference it was hardly worth training. At level 26 my new Oni ninja has a Regen of 9.72 hp's per second. His health is 555. So if he gets walloped for 440 points of damage, am I going to stand there for 45 seconds for his health to go back up? I think not. My health is even less than the Oni, so it does no good for me either.

SP will be spec'ed out later on. Give us back Soothing Aura!
  21. We are the Red Dragon Clan, a small group of very active players. We have a new VG team of 3 Corruptors:

    Fire/Kin (25)
    Dark/Kin (24)
    Archery/TA (34)
(the kins were started after the TA, but quickly catching up)

We need a Fire/Dark -- w/tar patch and other debuffs) to fill the SF team.

This person must join the Red Dragon Clan for communication reasons. Our base is fully equipped and has a large stockpile of salvage to make IO's. Some IO's already available.

The base is not trashed with a lot of decor lag. The telepads, infirmary w/auto-doc and IO crafting rooms are right next to the portal for your convenience (no need to run around the entire base looking for it).

If you start as a level 1 you can level right along with us. We are very active (almost every day). We start playing around 6pm EST and on weekends (varied times).

We sometimes pick up other players to make a full team. We have found that they stay as a team for quite a long time (not someone dropping every mission) due to the power of the twin kinetics. We have already heard people say that their VG had asked them to join another team, but that this one is just too good to leave.

Send me a tell -- Fulcrum Blu (the fire/kin), or leave a message on here if you are interested.

We are also interested in other active players joining the Red Dragon Clan. In-actives are removed from the clan after 30 days (unless valid excuse). So you will not find 10,000 in-active players here.

    We await your arrival!
  22. I take it that right after you switch your builds you have to wait another 15 minutes before the game sees that you switched? So you can respec?

Well after yesterday's loss of a respec and with customer support never getting back to me, I used my second veteran respec and made a combination build with both stamina and SB. Level 25 now. The 33rd month respec should be here soon if i should desire to fix the bad one.

    Thanks for your help!
  23. I had switched to the build that I wanted to respec. but it won't respec the one i am on. it respec's the other one that I am not on
  24. I have tried changing to the other build and tried the respec again. It keeps trying to respec the same build.

Don't know if this matters, but the respec came from veteran rewards
  25. I am a Fire/Kin Corruptor. I have two builds. One is for when I am with a VG friend on his Dark/Kin. Stamina isn't trained as we use SB on each other for recovery. The other build is when I am solo or in a team without another kinetic. It has stamina trained.

When I turned 22 I switched to my solo build and changed all the enhancements to IO's. Then I switch to my other build with SB to re-enhance that one, but I decide to do a respec on it to fix an error I made with slotting (put 2 slots into Combat Jumping instead of Super Jump). I do the respec and for some reason all my new IO's from the solo build are down in storage. I figure that it is going to respec both builds so I use most of the new IO's for SB build. Then when I go to the trained to switch back to the solo build to enhance that one again, it shows me the old SB build!

In other words, how do you respec your second build?
