Quote:Umm, issue 21 is not 'The Coming Storm'. In fact, in a Non-Ouroboros mission, I don't believe we can or will experience the so-called 'Coming Storm'. It's possible that our one previous (and scheduled future) Shivan meteor assault event are precursors, but there's nothing I know of that indicates that the Shivans are the 'Coming Storm'.With the "Coming Storm" slated for Issue 21 (and probably beyond) and Kheldians being heavily tied into the story behind it, I hope the Devs see this as a great opportunity to do something about the Kheldian issues.
Sorry, the Apocalypse is not on the calendar.

Quote:Nope, but the big trouble is in limiting yourself. If you think of the perfect one-word name, it's likely to be taken, but if you Really want that name, then try all 15 (+2) servers, because one of them may have it open. So, you want the Odder names, the ones that have two or more words are more likely to be available.I do try to research when making new characters. I researched time travel and quantum mechanics for half an hour trying to think of a cool name to reserve for time manipulation. My problem is that when I actually try to make it in game, none of my costume pieces work or the name I poured time into to think of was already taken, and a thesaurus never really works.
One new concept I had in mind: Plant guy, like Swamp Thing or the Floranic Man.
When you find a good name, on a server you want to use, drop a placeholder on it immediately - create a generic toon and claim the name. Then you can work on the costume at leisure - Save the file and you can zip through creating a new toon, or modifying an existing one, quickly and easily.
So,
Okay, a plant-guy... Or girl?
What AT are you thinking? Is he a sturdy tanker-type, or a raging, brutish beast, or a scrapper, or a Plant controller, or a blaster or defender with mysterious green power?
Next, consider Origins and 'nature'... is the thing from the swamps created or summoned? Were they ever Human? Are they some sort of alien spore? Symbiont? Strange science project? Or perhaps a spirit of nature that has taken form for... whatever reason?
If they were once human, how 'human' do they remain? You can research myths for plant-based forces, or invent your own, like Poison Ivy. Sometimes http://www.godchecker.com/ is a fun place to start.
I know of at least one player that uses Cordyceps zombie-fungus as the basis for their character.
After that... well, then you get to try to figure out how all of this expresses itself and create a costume. Granted, there are really only a few ways you can go, given the limitations of the Costume Creator. However, with a solid character concept, it's not hard to go to the (Re)Design Forum and request help. I recently posted a response for your Crab costume request, there, once you clarified the look you were seeking.

I think you missed the point of my suggestion. Combat Jumping needs no actual 'enhancement' - the endurance cost is so little that EndRed enhancements barely affect it. The same is true (relatively) for the Defense bonus in Combat Jumping - if you were able to enhance it 100%, you would still only gain 1% to your Defense total.
So, in the build as you have it, Combat Jumping should have 2 slots, one for the +ToHit and one for the +Recharge. Maneuvers and Weave should get the extra slots, so they each have 4 and add an HO: Enzyme. That will not only improve your Defense More, but reduce your Endurance Use significantly without disturbing your existing IO Set bonuses.
Effective and efficient.

I have a tendency to use historical/mythical elements and or hybrids of various things. Yet, some of my very best concepts have come from starting with such and such, as a Seed, and then the rest grows out of research.
One of my better characters began simply from the Magic Bolero coat. It seemed Arabic influenced, or Turkish, but I settled on Armenia - crossroads of the ancient silk trade. So I was just thrashing around with Armenian myth (a subject I know almost nothing about) drawing parallels and ran across a Goddess, who might have been a real person. 'Tsovinar'.
So, I'm toying with persons who, somehow, achieve godhood, and how a lot of the Old gods really are just like people, only written 'extra large' and with titanic powers - Not unlike our heroes, here. Anyway, spinning between this and tales of the ancient priests, priestesses, sibyls and seers, who were 'mere vessels' for whatever holy spirits worked through them... And suddenly I'm seeing a version of the million-year-old-woman... Well, not quite a million, more like 100-thousand, or 20-thousand... or, well, the precise number doesn't matter.
And the bio develops in epic-poetic form, which I've been finding very useful for cramming a lot of ideas into the small space we're allowed for a Bio.
I can barely remember when I was just a woman, just a girl, but I was one - once.
I can just remember the first time the Goddess came to me, came into me, came over me, filled me, possessed me, spoke through me, and worked miracles through my hands.
And not just one goddess, but all goddesses, who are one goddess, over and over, through time.
I journeyed from place to place and people to people, as time passed.
Goddess-touched, I grew no older, I did not die - I went on.
Filled with power and miracles, I remained powerful.
I was Inanna. I was Ishtar. I was Isis.
I was Ashera, Astarte, Anahit, Artemis.
Many goddesses and one.
But she came less often.
And less often.
And not at all.
I was alone.
For a long time.
Now it is a new time, a new place, with new gods and goddesses.
And I am here.

Hamidon Enzyme Exposures are a waste, in Combat Jumping. Put those slots/enhancements in any other Defense power, for more effect, Maneuvers and Weave, for instance.

The so-called 'butt-cape' is a Female Arachnos Soldier exclusive item.
The nearest analogue for males is the trench-coat.
You might construct something similar to the picture Bill posted, with a long martial-arts robe and a kilt. Or use the belt item from the Martial Arts Super Booster.

Between Impale and Throw Spines, my Spines/Inv has few problems with runners. Plus, Spines does DoT, so a lot of would-be runners die anyway. Endurance will be a bear, but Consume makes for happiness!
I suggest you play it, enjoy it, and don't worry if some other guy could possibly out-perform you by a tiny margin. Let the pointy, pokey, flaming marshmallow-nightmare run wild!

Quote:Thanks for the input. Most of what you chose to do with the build follows my own plans, but I'd like to comment on your questions and the bigger changes.I have a lvl 50 Fire//inv that can out tank a few tanks Which is great some times but with the build you have made im not to sure why you did a few things like on "Resist Physical Dmg" Not to sure why only have two slots You can make it....4 and add in the reactive armor for the 3 and 4 bonus def it gives you.
For the two auto powers the inv gives you"Resist Energies" and "Resist Elements" can slot both of them with 2 slots and use "Imperivum armor" to get the End recovery bonus which is all ways nice.
"Dull Pain" is you only heal so you all ways want that up so not to sure why you picked what you did...I would have done 5 slots for it and put in "Doctors Wounds" to make it pretty much a perma with a few other things.
"Combat Jumping" Not to sure why you put the res slow thing there....Yes i know why u put it there but you could put something better in there.
"Invincibility" Not to sure why you are using the To-Hit buff stuff in there and little bit over slotted only need maybe....4 there
And Well ii took the build you made Didnt pick the new power was unsure of what u wanted and used the last 3 slots u had and put them some places and took the stuff u had and moved around it for you and heres somewhat ii got......if u want ii can send uu a respec build which is cheap and does everything for you.
RPD is 'underslotted' in my build, because the total bonus, even with 4 slots, is rather small. 5 and 6-slotting my attacks means I don't have lots of spare slots for my defenses. I hope to slot Steadfast Protection here, but Not the KB protection - it's wasted on Invulnerability. More than 2 slots here and you're better off with a plain Resist IO in the extra slot(s).
I Could 4-slot RPD and fill with Reactive armor, for the extra defense... In fact, I could burn my last, remaining Respec and pull out all of the Impervium Armors, save for a few pairs to put in Unyielding, Resist Energies, and Resist Elements - for the +Recovery. That might gain me a smidge more Resistance and +4% Defense.
Dull Pain is, indeed, my only heal and my planned 2 Miracle 2 Numina's slotting gives me 87% in both Heal and Recharge. This was the near-maximum that I could squeeze out of 4 slots, without ignoring Set-bonuses completely and just frankenslotting. Your 4-slotting Doctored Wounds doesn't meet this performance - DW needs 5 slots to match this performance. Moreover, the only truly Useful set-bonus in DW is at the 5-slot point, but I've extracted 2 very useful bonuses from my 4-slotting.
I put the +Slow Resistance in Combat Jumping because that was one of the few places it would go. I Could put it in Super Jump and only lose a little jumping speed...
By using HOs, one could easily maximize Invincibility with only 3 slots. However, I don't have HOs. Your 4 slots plus the Kismet certainly redlines the Defense in Invincibility... and you gain 0.05% more Defense, as a result. My preferred slotting, with LotG Def/End, Def, and Def/+Recharge results in a full SO worth of EndRed, ED yellow-limited Defense, a Damage bonus, and 2.8% ToHit. Granted, the Kismet would give me still more +ToHit - if I could get one.
It is looking like the best choice for the final slot is Resist Elements.
If I burn my last respec, I could build this:

Fireheart -
I am running a Spines/Inv, so my defenses are different, however, most of the recipes for this build can be had relatively inexpensively. The Tough parts are going the be the uniques and procs - the Steadfast, the Karma, the Performance Shifters. Also, the Reactive Armors will set you back a bit, simply because they are very popular.
Overall, Except for the special IOs, you should be able to craft this build for around 300 million, I guess. Possibly quite a lot less, I'm not a market specialist, so I'm just guessing from the cost of my own build. If you go by 'Buy-me-Now' pricing on pre-crafted IOs... well, I'm not responsible for that.
It IS possible to get good prices on decent higher-level Set IOs, but those are subject to strong market forces, so YMMV.
I did make a point of not loading Luck of the Gambler, or other extremely popular/expensive sets. I guess my point is that, while this is a very practical and effective build, it could be improved on.
Be Well!
Fireheart -
Thanks for your guidance, Sailboat.
Yeah, the build is a bit of a mess, since it is unfinished. This is how it currently looks, Live. These are the enhancements that I have. Not one of these was bought, they were all crafted from recipes and salvage. Most of them, particularly the Crushing Impact sets and Impervium Armors, are left over from leveling up to 50.
Some of those blanks are just awaiting the right recipes. A lot of those blanks used to have SOs in them. Weave, Conserve Power, Physical Perfection, Quills - these were slotted on the fly, as I leveled-up and then I got the last two levels without taking time to train them. I was on a great team and Pacted with the Tanker. We did real content, not Farms in AE or PI. As a result, my build is unfinished and my Sets are not 'uber', but simply what I had and what I could afford and the stopgaps I threw in place.
For instance, the empty slot in DP should get a Numina Heal/Recharge - which will gain me ED limited Recharge and Heal, as well as a nice bit of EndRed, plus +Recovery and +Regen bonuses. Tough Hide gets a LotG Def and hopefully the +Recharge (which also has a bit of Def) netting me ED limited Defense and More +Recovery and +Regen.
As for Boxing, yeah, I'm actually using it in my attack-chain. Barb Swipe is Terrible and, for the Fighting Pool, I have to take Boxing anyway, so I promoted Boxing in the place of Barb Swipe and it's now my auto-attack fast-acting break-filler. That's been part of the build since about L37.
I'm hoping to find a Steadfast +Def for RPD, or possibly UnY.
From the way this is built, you might guess that I found Endurance Use and Recovery to be an issue worth addressing. It was. It's possible that I've gone overboard on the Impervium Armors and such, and/or that a few simple adjustments will make that less of a problem - such that I'd go looking for Reactive Armors and more +Defense.
Part of the 'problem' is that I REFUSE to pay 30 million for a Recipe. I'm not going to pay a tenth of my total build budget for a simple recipe. In fact, I wouldn't do that for a Completed Enhancement. So that locks me out from simply making an optimum build in Mids and buying the stuff to fill it. I have to work with the influence and enhancements that I Have.
Frankly, my biggest question right now is what to take for my final Power and where to spend those last 3 Slots.
Sailboat, I can see dropping Conserve Power to 1 slot, but not doing so with Assault - I Use that, so it needs to be more efficient. I plan 2x EndRed IOs there.
As for the Obliterations, I'm not 6-slotting them for the Defense. My powers are slotted primarily for effectiveness, rather than set bonuses, though I Have made several choices based on those bonuses. So, I have the Oblits for +Recharge and then I used other enhancements to shore-up the flaws in Obliteration.
If you look at my existing build in terms of 'Complete the Set' and 'What's the best thing I can do with these empties' you'll probably hit on the exact same things I'm planning for. However, please don't try to make a perfect, polished level 50+++ build for me, I can't afford it.
What I need is a dirty, Utility-focused build that makes the most of what I already have, so I can get back in the game and begin earning the Merits and other resources that will allow me to consider an optimized build.
