Energy Melee. 3% damage is nothing? And what do you know about my regen? Maybe I want to pair it with Invulnerability? Maybe I have a great global recharge and I am spamming a great attacks chain, hitting myself for 3% time after time after time?
Are you building a Stalker then? No, the only AT that has all of these powers is Tanker. With a Tanker, 'Crit' and 'Scrapper damage' are entirely irrelevant, since you can't do it anyway.

3% of a Tanker's pool of hit-points is only relevant if you're mostly dead already. The argument is that you are converting your own health into an over-charged strike that does 'colossal' damage... hitting harder than you know is safe... gathering more energy into your punch than you can control and getting hurt by the flashback.
Whatever the case, I've never managed to actually kill myself with Energy Transfer, though I have heard of it happening, and this was 'back in the day' when you could actually 'spam' the power about once every 5-7 seconds. Paired with Invulnerability, as it happens.

Blue, I've noticed that you do have smart things to say, sometimes, but most of the posts you start are... troll-ish, just to stir up trouble. This one did have an honest question to it, but you let the bad habit loose in your first line and other troll-ish people jumped on it.

So, 'weaponless' Tanker power-sets include Energy Melee, Dark Melee, Street Justice, Kinetic Melee, Super Strength, Electric Melee, and Martial Arts... Just what more could you ask for, in a 'weaponless' category?

<Edit> I see, now, that you are talking Scrapper sets - of which Energy Melee is not one. Nor is Super Strength. So you want 'weaponless' Scrapper sets? But, I see you skipped Martial Arts in your list, which is very like Super Strength... So I don't understand what your problem is. There are three styles of 'martial arts' in the game already!

In any case, I really do hope that they take a serious look at Energy Melee, particularly at the Slowness of the animations. I miss my fast-punching boxer-based Main character.

    Bindloadfiles

Binds can be compounded or concatenated.

I have 3 bindfiles for my WS'
    ws-human.txt:
    Code:
    SHIFT+LBUTTON "powexec_name Shadow Step"
    SHIFT+NUMPAD1 "nop"
    SHIFT+NUMPAD2 "powexec_toggleon Dark Nova$$goto_tray 8$$bindloadfilesilent c:\binds\ws-nova.txt"
    SHIFT+NUMPAD3 "powexec_toggleon Black Dwarf$$goto_tray 9$$bindloadfilesilent c:\binds\ws-dwarf.txt"
    ws-nova.txt:
    Code:
    SHIFT+NUMPAD1 "powexec_toggleoff Dark Nova$$goto_tray 1$$bindloadfilesilent c:\binds\ws-human.txt"
    SHIFT+NUMPAD2 "nop"
    SHIFT+NUMPAD3 "powexec_toggleoff Dark Nova$$goto_tray 9$$powexec_toggleon Black Dwarf$$bindloadfilesilent c:\binds\ws-dwarf.txt"
    and ws-dwarf.txt:
    Code:
    SHIFT+LBUTTON "powexec_name Black Dwarf Step"
    SHIFT+NUMPAD1 "powexec_toggleoff Black Dwarf$$goto_tray 1$$bindloadfilesilent c:\binds\ws-human.txt"
    SHIFT+NUMPAD2 "powexec_toggleoff Black Dwarf$$powexec_toggleon Dark Nova$$goto_tray 8$$bindloadfilesilent c:\binds\ws-nova.txt"
    SHIFT+NUMPAD3 "nop"
That's 3 buttons, each corresponding to a specific form. Each one dynamically reprograms the relevant buttons to suit the form that you've shifted into.

And, I'm not certain that my coding is exactly right, since I've had problems with it, recently. There is a thread on the Kheldian Forum that discusses Binds and other tricks - you might want to check it out, if you can. http://boards.cityofheroes.com//showthread.php?t=190418

  13. I'd say, ignore the people who say 'this is the only way to succeed' and play what you want and build however you like. Don't let people who say 'You must only play optimized characters on optimized teams, vs optimized enemies' make your choices for you, they're just dreaming, since 90% of the game is not optimized. There's more to City of Life than AE missions and Taskforces.

Damage-boosted Dark should make a very potent soloing character. Any enemy you engage will be doomed to defeat and likely to never lay a glove on you. On a small team, single-target domination is every bit as fast as AoE survival. If you feel like it, you can use your second build to put in more AoE.

  15. Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't consider 40-50% Accuracy to be sufficient. Perhaps at level 30, but I want 60%+ Accuracy at level 40+.

That's why I hate Positron's Blast and MOST of the other IO Sets, as well.

  17. Hmm. That's more 'reaction' than synonym, or homonym... For your meaning, you'd be better off with Hoax or Charlatan. You seem to be going from personal experience.

  20. BTW, while I applaud the maximized franken-slotting you're using for Healing Flames, may I suggest this, instead?

    Heaing Flames -- Mrcl-Heal/Rchg, Mrcl-Heal/EndRdx/Rchg, Numna-Heal/Rchg, Numna-Heal/EndRdx/Rchg

That will give you Almost as much Recharge and Healing, plus a bit of Endurance Reduction AND give Regeneration and Recovery bonuses.

  21. In any case, the best way to get a Tanker to level 50 is to play the game. Having good teams helps, as well. I especially suggest trying missions and content that you haven't played before.

With Fire/DM you will be more of a single-target specialist than some other powersets - sure, Fire has Burn and the Aura, to help with AoE. My suggestion for that is to slot for Acc and EndRed and raise the +level, while keeping the xnumber lower, so you get fewer, harder targets when you solo & small team. Otherwise, set the mission difficulty numbers to match the team you're on.

  22. You took the dangerous, invasive surgery and had this device grafted onto your nervous system - Sorry, there are no doctors willing to remove it.

Yes, unfortunately, you are stuck with the backpack. That particular 'feature' has been discussed, with varying levels of outrage, since the inception of Crabs. It's too bad that you didn't copy the character to Test and do the experiment There, first. It's faintly possible that Customer Service can 'retcon' you back to before the pack, but I've never heard of that happening.
