Amplifiers are like long-term Inspirations. Use one, get an hour of +Def, or whatever.
More cruise-control to awesome.

TP Foe can aggro the enemy Through Walls! It's not dependent on LoS.
That said, it's Not effective at Keeping aggro.

Quote:I agree! King's Row is a great place for Noir. The whole reason I suggested a revamp of KR was that it seemed a logical 'next place on the map'. Also, I was frustrated by the way that the whole Habashy and Save AP arc (unless played on +0x0) simply catapulted you past KR. Also, there's all of those Contacts there, but now nobody introduces you to them.A perma-rain effect could be a possible compromise - it's make the place very dark in the daytime, and then extra dark at night.
I think the use of a lot of neon signs would also look good, as well as highlighting the darkness - like the glow tech used in Neutropolis, only on normal signs.
That, and I've been utterly curb-stomped by Paladin a few times too many. THREE Paladins is simply overkill. So, give people a reason to Hunt Paladin!
Also, as has been pointed out, there is this Huge story about Blue Steel and the Clockwork King... and we have to work pretty hard, to find out about it.
A TF or mission arc concerning that, would be super!
I mentioned that this was the first zone (in the old progression) where we encountered the Lost. Some hints about them would be very interesting.
Ditto for the Circle of Thorns. I admit, I used to Hate Azuria for sending me after them, but now they have Fancy Suits! And nobody is looking at them, because the 'story' seems to jump straight to the level 10 content.
The story of Kings Row needs to be Clarified!

I was also there, and I do believe Energy Resist was part of the first Toggle and enhanced by the Auto-power. Benchpresser may have just messed that part, in his notes. Phil did move things around a few times, in the process of on-the-fly tweaking.
Also, it was clear that, despite Rad Armor getting the win in the design competition, Phil was Also thinking about Rad Melee...
Oh, and we discovered that, despite his incredible speed and precision, Synapse still typos regularly. You just don't see it, because he corrects himself quickly.

I got a late start, after my last class. Arrived at Motel 6 in Sunnyvale, had dinner at Denny's and now I'm trying to decide if I shouldn't just go to bed and skip the anticipation. My poor Laptop is choking on CoH and this wireless connection is not really worth the $3 I paid for it.
I sure hope this is not all in vain and they'll have a ticket for me tomorrow.

Hmm, okay, I see that the build data in the original post says he's level 49, which is quite untrue, he's only up to L30. I'm looking for a basic build with SOs, because that is what I have and what I can afford, and IOs (unless Frankenslotted) don't quite compete at this level. At level 32, yes, then I'll switch over to an IO build.
I thought the limitations were implied by the build, but I can see that was unclear. I apologize for the confusion.
What the SOs do, is tell you what is important. For instance, in Storm - Freezing Rain, Recharge is paramount, since buffing accuracy or damage is a waste. It took me a while to understand that, and it was another forumite that pointed it out and explained the details.
My particular concern is this:
Level 24: [Empty] -- Empty(A)
Level 26: Assault Bot -- Acc(A), Acc(27), Dmg(27), Dmg(29), Dmg(29)
Level 28: [Empty] -- Empty(A)
Level 30: [Empty] -- Empty(A)
What powers do I fit into those empty spots?
Because that's kinda important at this level. Later, when I'm in my 40s and 50s, then slotting and enhancing become important. That's when the precise balance of bonuses and such becomes significant. Right now, I'm trying to get the important powers in place, so I can gain experience in using them.
---
Psylenz : Okay, so don't expect the Protectors to be heal-bots, but give them more damage, got it. Build for recharge for the Traps (eventually). Leadership would be good. Got it.
Nyghtmaire : I'm VIP, have been around for years, and expect to continue as VIP, unless the Devs finally succeed in breaking the game.My playstyle with this character is to lead my bots into battle and try to be a good teammate to them.
So far, my main powers are fire-and-forget, so I'm using my blaster-rifle to initiate battles and clean up the mess left by bots that shoot things at random. Standing still, doing nothing but wait for powers to recharge drives me nuts, but I recognize that I'll need to do that more, when I get higher level. By then, I'll have more significant powers to worry about, so I'll phase the rifle out.
As for content, I'm playing the game, PvE, level 30 missions at +1x3, mostly. I solo a bit, but join teams when I can. Doing Tips to go Rogue.
So it's all 'normal'.

Err, I need four, please.
1. Toggle Suppression while form-shifted.
Actually, I bet EVERYONE would like this, for the new movement powers and shape-changed powers. My Tanker hates having to re-toggle when accidentally de-volved into a monkey. It's scary enough already, without the panic of 'Oh gods, toggle, toggle, toggle, toggle, toggle, toggle, toggle!!!'
2. One more ST attack in each non-human form.
3. Two initial slots in each form power, instead of one.
4. Some intelligent improvement to Photon Seekers, please.

Um, great! How about translating that into SOs and level 30? The tweaks that a maxed-out build can do, do not really help me. That's one reason why I posted my existing build.
I've had good talks with Dechs about Dark Armor and stuff. I've read his guides. I've read the other guides too, as well as surveying the forum for build advice. I don't want to be a jerk about it, but instead of telling me what works at 50+, why not give me some advice I can use?

So, roaming through the vast jungle of old and new characters on my account, I bumped into this old friend and wondered, "Why aren't I playing him more?" Turns out, the answer is he needs an update and I'm not sure what to do. He has Legacy Fitness, so that's an easy fix, but what now?

You know, this is More of the reason why I'm refusing to play WWD. Killing off Statesman is of absolutely no value at all. The added insult of killing Psyche is just Wrong.
Really, I have Yet to hear a convincing argument for this.
Now, retconning the history of the game is even stupider. What is the meaning of being Incarnate, if we don't have Statesman as an example? What is the value of the whole cautionary tale, if we don't see the results of being too close to the Well?
What purpose does Lord Recluse have, without his opposite?
Are we supposed to buy Positron as a shining beacon of goodness now? He's just not equipped for it. Put Hero 1 in there, instead, he's at least qualified.
Look, the game has history. It has existed for most of a decade. Part of what the new kids are buying into, here, is that History. It does not overshadow them, it is a foundation that lifts them up. If, for whatever reason, Statesman and Psyche must be removed from the game's future, then their lives, history, and Taskforces must still remain in the game's past, and accessible through Ourboros.
As it is, there is a Statesman-shaped hole in the game, which completely overshadows the Sister Psyche-shaped hole.

I was cycling through my many-many toons tonight and found this old friend, with a VERY outdated build - I know this, because I stopped using TP-Foe years ago.
So, I stayed up too late and crammed another level+ onto him. Now he's L17, which is a good time to respec. So, Master Scrappers, will you help me make a path to SOs?
