To be honest I'm not much of a fan of Defenders who don't take anything from their secondaries, it means that they are less useful to a team imo. You could at least get Psionic Lance at level 4 and maybe try to slip Will Domination and Telekinetic Blast sometime - it will make a big difference and will mean you can solo because there will be times where you can't get a team.
-
You might want to slot some damage into Sing, it really helps when soloing. Mine is slotted 1xAcc, 3xDam, 2xHold.
Are you sure you really want both Lift and Crush? You're lacking slightly on the damage front so it might be worth dropping one (probably Crush) and getting Power Bolt from your epic, it's a pretty decent attack especially with Containment.
I'm not a great fan of the intangibles but it's your build. -
In I7 I will be taking Strike, Slash and Focus as my main attacks on my claws/regen, with Eviscerate in there when Hasten is down and Shockwave when it's up. Looking at your build, I'm not sure how you will get a decent attack chain without any recharges in your attacks.
There's not much point putting defence buffs into Stealth as it's got such a poor base defence buff. Put the slots into MoG: 1xDamres, 2/3xDefBuff, 3/2xRecharge.
Whatever you choose, test it out on the Test server first to make sure it all works right. -

respec into quick recovary and revive and get rid of stanima and fitness you wont need them

If he wants to get Tough and Focussed Accuracy (as he says in the the original post) then Stamina will be needed. -

Actually, the accuracy of Claws attacks is 75%, the same as most powers in the game but lower than other Scrapper primaries as they have a bonus to accuracy for their weapon draw time.
[/ QUOTE ]
By that logic, shouldn't Martial Arts have the lowest accuracy?
[/ QUOTE ]
MA used to have an accuracy bonus of 1.1 as it was a pretty poor set, when it was redesigned that boost was decreased to 1.05 - the set is of the kind of 'style' which leads to a accuracy bonus. -
[ QUOTE ]
yes but tough is [censored], as its takes up more than one power + whats the point; no thanks
[/ QUOTE ]
Tough isn't [censored], a 17.55% resistance boost is pretty decent. -

I'm as bemused as Alan_P...no accuracies in anything? Focussed Accuracy won't help much, especially as you won't pick it up until level 41. I know the acc of Claws is pretty high, but it's not recommended to go through 40-odd levels without any accuracy SOs slotted; also as Alan_P says, the ToHit buff on Invince is pretty unnoticeable. Not to mention, Focussed Accuracy drains endurance no end...even with three endreds in it, you'll find yourself dropping toggles left, right and centre if you keep it running constantly.

What about every single good empathy player who doesn't have AP?

I for some reason haven't managed to quit yet, so I'm still here.

It's really not as simple as "let's let them respec it!"
Since Patron sets are tied to Contacts you receive, you get the set of the Contact you choose. We'd need to add a bunch of technology to take away access to Contacts (something we don't do currently), to make sure you couldn't end up with multiple Patron Pools.
We have talked about it though, and are not through talking about it either.

Yep, it does knockback and is very useful for keeping squishies on their backs. In PvE I find it pretty useful as well, you can keep most of a group constantly on their backs with it.
-
My claws/regen needs stamina, especially when running Tough and Focussed Accuracy.

dont need stanima
[/ QUOTE ]
You do if you want to be able to just slot your attacks for damage, accuracy and recharge and get the best DPS possible. -
Looking at the regen side of things on that build, take out the 4th slot from Quick Recovery and put another recharge in Dull Pain. Also, Integration doesn't really need one endrdx, let alone 2.
You'll want to put 3xEndRdx in Focussed Accuracy, it uses a ton of end. There's little point getting Tactics as you'll have Focussed Accuracy anyway which provides a better ToHit buff (not sure about +perception). There's little point getting Maneuvers, it's such a tiny boost for Scrappers. Might be worth trying to slip MoG in there (slotted 3xDefBuff, 3xRecharge until I7). -

PvE or PvP?
PvE - DA
PvP - Regen or SR
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you sure? My regen is far tougher than my DA in PvE. -
By 'hard data' I mean damage, recharge etc of each power. Something we don't have.

To be honest, I'm not sure about that. One of the definitions of 'whining' is "To complain or protest in a childish fashion." To me, complaining about a set which hasn't yet been played, has no hard data and will be used in a part of the game that has not been seen yet is a bit childish don't you think?
[/ QUOTE ]
By that line of reasoning, it's incredibly hypocritical to defend something that hasn't been played, has no hard data and will be used in an area of the game that has yet to be seen.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, as I have said elsewhere I'm reserving judgement on the PPPs until I can actually see them in action. I'm just defending them from being pre-judged -
Sorry, I meant Gravity Distortion - the single target hold. You're right about the slotting of GDF, of course.

I'm sure though this post will also be interpreted as an attack and you'll accuse me of baseless whining some more and infer that I'm somehow too dumb to plan ahead, again. If you liked the PPPs that much, you could've just said so, cause that's what the thread is for.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well not really, as in this post you weren't whining at all. However, you were in the original post. I'm reserving my judgement on the PPPs until I get a chance to actually see them in action.

Expressing concerns is not whining, and calling it such achieves nothing but causing more touble and bad feeling. Again, please don't do it.

Anyway, I think I've let my feelings on the subject known. -

I wouldnt take AS on a grav roller. Your hold , imob and lift powers are all -fly anyway. Crush does more damage than AS and i would 3 slot with damage. Your hold does more damage than crush so i would also 3 slot it with damage. With hasten and S.speed you have great recharge. This then lets you have a good attack chain with crush ,lift, your hold and propel.
[/ QUOTE ]
For PvP maybe, but I think the OP was talking about PvE where 3xHold in Gravity Distortion Field is essential. -

AoE immob for something like Burn and your laughing!
[/ QUOTE ]
dont forget the added text in the description of burn ; "removes imobilization effects on your target"
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, it removes immobilization effects from you. -
Almost! Brute secondaries are less powerful than Tank primares, base Tank Granite gives 50% resistance and 20% defence compared to 37.5% resistance and 15% defence for Brutes.

[ QUOTE ]
FireKitty, I'd just like to say that your inability to realize that a lot people plan their characters ahead of time, and often do it very well "without having used the powers", is at least mildly irritating.
[/ QUOTE ]
Inability? No where did I even mention planning characters ahead of time! I'll add here that I also plan characters in advance, but there is a difference - in CoV, no one has any idea what the content is like for the 40-50 level range, what types of enemies you'll face and the exact details of the powers (yes, we've had a description of each power but no hard data).
In CoH and CoV currently you can plan a character ahead of time as you know what to expect from the game and the planner programs have lots of information about powers which we currently haven't got. You also have the advantage of playing with other characters that might have the powers and sets you are planning to get, so you can see how they look, work and when they are best suited to be used.
[ QUOTE ]
What I find worse is that instead of you attacking my negative points about the PPPs you've decided to attack me personally. That's very bad form, in case you weren't aware. In a thread where I wanted to poll how everyone else feels about this and maybe see if I was wrong, no less.
[/ QUOTE ]
Next time I post I shall check it with you to check if it is 'bad form' or not - seeing as you're the expert.
If you read my post all but the last paragraph was doing exactly what you asked - countering your argument about why the PPPs are 'useless'. The last paragraph was just showing my fustration at people who judge powers and changes before they even get onto Test.

Remember you can build Fury by attacking too...

The system is different to what happens ingame at the moment but I wouldn't go as far as saying it's 'barmy'...
It will take far less than months for people to report back on the PPPs. First of all it will be on Test for at least 2 weeks so people will be able to experiment with the different pools (especially in the US). I also expect there will be level bumps on Test so that all of the content can be tested to make sure it works right.
