jeje yes, RV was fun for a while. Don't know Smirk, possibly a Defiant player as I don't remember the name from the union zones.

I managed to get Charged Armour from Scirocco - these are the resistance figures for it:
Edit:
Oops, I made an error when I first posted, the res types look the same:
Slashing/Lethal/Energy base resistance = 23.4%
With an even level one slot = 28.3% -ish
I'm not sure this is exactly accurate but pretty close. This makes it better than Charged armour for Blasters which according to Hero Builder is 19.25%/14%.
End cost I'm not sure about - does Hero Stats measure this?
Thanks to Sturmovik for helping out with the final mission to get this. -

What does ST refer to?
[/ QUOTE ]
Single Target, so a base Hold that every Controller & Dominator has - fossilise, strangler etc. These are Mag3 usually, Mag4 on a critical from a controller, Mag6 with Domination. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'd gladly sit in sirens while you throw holds at me because i know i will not be held with Rin on because click mez protect is harder to beat than toggle mez.
This is not so on the test server so something has changed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just realised of course we can't because different servers. Might be interesting to do a test if you can get hold of 2 controllers. Click or toggle doesn't matter (other than click can't be dropped which obviously is a big plus) its the Mag that's important.
If you can try with a dominator with Domination running, I'd be surprised if you can take more than 2 ST holds (mag 12) and amazed if it can take 3 ST holds (mag18). -
I don't think there's any doubt - if you're Def based Aid Self is the way to go, it's a substantial heal, quick recharge, lowish end cost and the interrupt is there but small. It's one of those power pools that you take and are surprised at how good it is rather than think 'omg this is awful' - a category that the Fighting Pool neatly fits into.

I was just on test and got told by 2 stalkers that they were held with one hold application; either this is a bug or they missed the fact they had stacked holds on them or had their mezz resist knocked off in some other way. They also said that they could take 14 holds in Siren's on live (that's a Mag resist of 42) so I'm not sure about the credibility of this. I would have been interested in testing this but one of them was talking so much nonsense my teeth were beginning to hurt.
All of my holds and holds with domination have been behaving as expected so if there is an issue it's probably villains only.
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah i was lyssa and it wasn't just one hold it was atleast 4 and it went through Rin and retsu which is something you just can't do on live at the moment.
[/ QUOTE ]
4 holds is mag 12, I'd be very surprised if Ninjitsu gives you more than that. Mag 12 is enough for me to Hold a Regen Scrapper (maybe less but that is 2 holds with Domination). From the description Retsu doesn't look like it gives you any extra mezz resist in addition to Rin. Let me know if you want to test this on live. -

Just stick a Res to it on Break Frees, it is a Mez effect after all.

It does seem daft a BF doesn't work with it. -
I don't know if your reply is aimed at me but I didn't suggest any of the things you're talking about, I certainly haven't said anything about hacking or exploiting. What I did say it was dull and ultimately (I can imagine) leads to a tedious game; and please, don't talk about a quick death, I'm a Dominator, don't make me laugh.
As far as counters sure, I can see many, for one we can play [censored]-each-other-off with sonics vs bubbles, relentless hounding as well, etc. I think if you play the [censored]-off game a lot you'll generate bad feeling. -

For some people, winning is fun at any cost.

Did you get that right bob?
Would you edit the link? it's breaking the layout. -
You're complaining because you can't repeat exactly the same tactic, all the time, against every AT, solo. I7 hasn't changed this, it's introduced a new zone where Heroes have access to Epics in PvP and focused accuracy is the only new +Per power and then only available to Tanks and Scrappers; everything else is the same as before. Stalkers need to adapt your approach and tactics depending on the situation like everyone else.
Have you been into to RV yet? -

What no moaning about dimension shift/blackhole?

Give it time. -
This is almost as funny as listening to blasters, except this is a little more bizarre. For one thing - low defence? Stalkers' defences are second only to Brutes for villains! I've heard Stalkers say "we have low/no defences", it's just absurd - Stalkers have a whole powerset dedicated to passive defences! you don't even have to think about using them! Toggles on...zzZZzzzz.... oh, and self heals, and let's see an AoE confuse, an invisibility attack, no less than THREE Elude equivalents...hmm yep no defences there.
Issue 7 has introduced nothing new, all these issues were here before. As far as Grant Invis goes...hmm...who takes the Concealment Pool?...give me a moment...ahhh..is it Stalkers? Do you think maybe, possibly, Stalkers might take Grant Invis as well as Stealth?

Check out elernet's PvP videos - specifically his "Advance, Visible Stalkers" if you think Stalkers don't have a chance. -
It's a strange mechanism to have in the game since it's extremely dull to play against, it seems to be a PvE/PvP crossover problem. Decibellion had it on me more or less permanently on me on test until he was killed. I think the argument against it is simply that it leads you down a tedious path for the game and not that it isn't effective.
-
Would that scrapper be Spyka? We tried some test with me as Bilharzia vs. Spyka, not that difficult to hold with Dom up - 3 applications but that is Mag 18
, and there's an item of power mez resist bonus in there as well, without the IOP it took 2 holds. Traps for Corruptors and MMs has a -Regen with poison trap, you can easily get two of those out at once, tricky to use I know.

its a good thing they make doms a bit stronger tho..Altho I still think they need someone at their side to kill.

Something I learned in Siren's is that a Dominator / Stalker (and Brute) combination is a killer, it's more obvious to Brutes since they have a harder time getting into melee range; oh, and blasters can KO me just as easily IcyI'm sure you'll be glad to know! jeje

Its good to see that more of the ATs are becoming more pvp-able
[/ QUOTE ]
That's definitely true and about time. The blasters are making a huge fuss because they are no longer the 2 second wonders, Dominators aren't poor cousins to controllers any more and tanks can have a role as tanks now. I've seen an Ice/Stone tank (Vostok) on test taking an insane amount of punishment and actually 'tanking' in pvp. -

All excellent opponents, almost all of whom have knocked me out, most more than once; who knows, they might make good villains. -
The only ATs I've have problems with so far are Regen and Super-Reflex Scrappers (running Elude), anything else I can knock out if I can stay alive for 20 seconds. It's possible to play Dominators as controllers without buffs/de-buffs and not take or slot assault powers, this makes your damage low; proper slotted attacks will do damage running domination. Surprisingly, Dominators don't do as much damage as Blasters, the reason for this is that they aren't Blasters, for Blaster level damage see Blasters under "B".
Dominators also don't play anything like Stalkers, they need to get into fights and keep fighting. -

resists = there the same , except ninjitsu is resistant to fear and there both clickys.
TBH i would say Ninjitsu is better than SR overall... even if it does have 4-6% less def , u can make up for that with CJ/Stealth ...
[/ QUOTE ]
Ninjitsu has no knockback resistance, and there's nothing to stop you getting CJ and Stealth with SR to maximise your Def. It seems on paper Ninjitsu is probably more balanced, especially with the built in heal. -
[ QUOTE ]
Aww, I was hoping for resist numbers on armors. 1 end per second can't be right either.. I hope..
I'm disappointed at the AoE attacks. The damage doesn't look great and the recharges are long. I believe the ones in the secondary sets are better. I'm thinking I'll skip them and either the endurance recovery power or the pet, which lets me work Medicine back into my build. Perfect!
[/ QUOTE ]
The damage numbers look weak. It's looking like Mu or Soul for me since I'm noticing endurance problems. If the armours are also weak it's not looking good. -
I saw Ghost Widow in RV using her hold against a tank, it's pretty jaw-dropping, it actually looks more telekinetic than anything else, and watching a big tank being picked up and twirled around is pretty funny as well.
-
Who knows there might be villains in the zone as well, fighting with the AVs.
Just kidding (that would be griefing). -
The changes in Issue 7 so far mean a change in tactics for Doms in PvP, at least for those of us who play them already, but I think almost any combination will work depending on your style of play.
The way the new PvP domination build up works is you get a bonus boost (+8) for every successful attack against a hero player (or opposition player). I definitely was not getting the big boost when I missed or my shots were deflected. Not sure if this is a bug or not, seems a bit daft since it will mean practical zero chance against anyone running high Def, especially something like an SR scrapper. You get the standard +2 domination for any other target, to get +8 you must hit another player.
This might well mean that a quick cycling, high accuracy, long range attack tactic might be a good move for some Doms; equally anyone capable of surviving for a while in melee (like Ice/Ice) should do well. The boost has nothing to do with damage, so it might be worth taking more low power attacks to get a faster buildup.
