Quote:Bah, speak to me not with your logic and facts! They are meaningless! Give me GR details nao! :^)Some years back, I made a list on here that had all the things asked for on the boards that made it into the game. There had to have been hundreds of items on that list. At best, I bet this list will make it into the teens. Way, way shorter. Credit where it's due: our devs do a good job.

DETAILS, mere details! I harumph in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries! Now, go away, or I shall taunt you a SECOND TIME! :^)
-
Here's my 'harumph!' of the day...every Tuesday and Thursday of late, I wait (with increasing impatience) for more word of GR features and/or closed beta startup. Here I am, disappointed again. HARUMPH! :^P

We had a solid run-1h17m total. Vandal went down (as usual) in all of about 30 seconds. I love that he looks so tough, yet is such a freakin' pansy. Anyway, I did have trouble (again, as usual) trying to figure out who had said they were definitely going to be there-so hopefully everyone got in that wanted in. I swear, I really have troubles with the globals/forum names/character names differences.
So, next Wednesday-Numina tf, 7 pm Central, be there or be square! :^) -
On the proposed photo of said hot chick-while I'd love to provide one, I have a feeling that asking for said photo to post on a MMORPG forum website might preclude any future activities with said hot chick. So, I must respectfully decline. :^)
Also, shameless bump-we're still on for Citadel tf, 7 pm Central time tonight. See y'all there! -
Quote:As I have seen many others post...That's not setting the bar high; that's setting the bar sideways and complaining that the devs won't give you a pole dance.
OMFG...you owe me a new monitor and keyboard, because your post caused me to spew Coke out my nose due to near-fatal laughter. Seriously! :^) -
-
Just a reminder-we'll be doing Citadel this upcoming Wednesday. Time is tentatively set for 7 pm Central, but I may push that back 1 hour to 8 Central. There may be a conflict wherein I get to do something fun first with a hot woman. :^)
-
Hahahaha...seriously man, you need to haul out the Tragic Eight Ball and give it a whirl, just to see its take on the matters at hand. Inquiring minds want to know! :^)
-
A successful run, full 8 man team, thanks to all who attended (and finally added me to their global friend lists). ;^)
Next week, Citadel-Johnny Screwball (my RL buddy from Philly, Mikey D) needs it for the accolade. So come smack around some former Ratzis with us, 7 pm Central, Wednesday, 1/20/10! -
Quote:Anyone watch 'The Big Bang Theory?' Whenever they go into the comic book shop, there's a COH emblem on one of the back walls. I noticed it and went, 'Well damn, that's the first ad I've ever seen for this game!' :^)I see web advertisements pretty often. Prior to Issue 14 and the release of the CoH Architect Edition box, I'd see them maybe once every couple months. Now I see them at least once every few days as ad banners on various webcomics.
It's been a while since I've really read any comic books, but I saw plenty of adds for City of Villains in those shortly after that was released as well.
As far as TV advertisements go, though, name one MMO other than World of Warcraft (or one owned by a TV network, like Cartoon Network's Fusion Fall or SyFy's 9 Dragons) that you've seen a commercial for. I've never seen one for Everquest (1 or 2), Star Wars Galaxies, Warhammer or Aion. I certainly haven't seen any commercials for Champions Online.
Why does everyone think that a TV commercial is suddenly going to double the number of subscribers? Seriously, who watches TV anymore and doesn't fast-forward past the commercials on their DVR? -
I know Ultrabatz has been running Rikti MS raids-but I'm hoping people will still roll out for the Sister Psyche tf tonight at 7 pm Central time. It'll be a speed run, and anyway, it appears we may all be in-line for a massive number of Vanguard merits in the near future through normal gameplay. :^)
-
Golden, you're KILLING me with the insinuations! I'm just trying to figure out if the F&F is going currently. From your vague, oblique statements regarding it, I'd think it is. If so, I'm salivating here at my desk. Next wave can't come soon enough! :^)

I'm really hoping that's a realistic winky-face on the end, and not a sarcastic one...'cuz I'm designated in one of the early rounds due to my 5+ years of vet time. And I, too, wanna see what's in the black box ASAP. Getting impatient, even though I know it does no good for anything.

Shameless bump-
Still doing Sister Psyche tf this Wednesday, 1/13/10, at 7 pm Central time. Hope to see a bunch of you out there! -
Lol-Mike, I can't hold you...you're too chubby, and you smell like cigarettes. Now fetch meh some WaWa and some Rita's so I can get chubby, too! :^)

A friend pointed this out to me-what's deal on the Mods names? Notice the sudden introduction of apostrophes, very Rikti-ish? Wtf?
-
So we had a pretty successful run-I want to thank those who attended. We got 8 on Synapse, but we lost 1 (had to be kicked for excessive AFK'ness that was hurting the speed of the run). Completion in 1h49m, with Babbage. We had fun spawning a metric crapload of temp power pets on him. I felt particularly justified spawning a Clockwork Connection trio of gears on him. :^)
We then rolled directly into a Manticore, that was also successful-1h2m.
Next Wednesday, Sister Psyche tf, 7 pm Central time! :^) -
I've pretty much fully embraced Triumph these days for my blueside needs. I was originally a Guardianite, but my sg has gradually gone away over the past 5+ years. What can I say, I'm still kicking around. I like the people on Triumph Watch, and it seems quite easy to pick up TF's...even *SHARD* TF's.
Even on Xmas, Xmas Eve, and New Year's, people were ON. How on earth can you complain about that, pantsless or not?
In fact, in general response to this, I vow to personally play pantsless only from this point forward. Pants are highly over-rated, anyway. They bunch and bind, and ride up. Lose'em! ;^)
Anyway, I agree in two things I saw in this thread:
1. Triumph is definitely quality over quantity, which ain't a bad thing.
2. If people don't like our general tomfoolery, then they ain't right for Triumph and can move on down the line.
'Nuff said. :^) -
Hey, people,
I like tf's. I like to run them fast. So here's my plan:
I plan to start running a tf every Wednesday night that I'm able to, starting at 7 pm Central time. I plan on doing this, well, until I get bored (or until I'm in the GR closed beta-yay for that vet time priority invite!).
So, first up, tomorrow (Wednesday, 1/6/10) will be Synapse. Don't worry about saying you'll be there, or me holding a spot. It'll be first come, first invited. I reserve the right to change the plans if we don't have enough people for the given task force-we can always run a respec or one of the smaller, shorter Striga ones if we're short on bodies.
And there it is. Hope to see y'all out there. -
Well, it's not so much that it's a BAD idea, it's just that (as the previous poster put it) there are much faster and more efficient ways to damage critters.
Now that being said, for messing around, I think you could do a lot better. Let's start off on damage. Assume that Defiance2.0 is at 0%, since you're sneaking in to fire off that opening salvo. Also, on that note, I would be sure to have some form of fancy invis to sneak in-think Superspeed with the Celerity +Stealth IO, for instance. Okay, let's address the damage.
I like to play tanks and scraps, and I routinely slot them for as much +damage as I can get. On a blaster, I would say you need a secondary with Build Up. Then, I'd slot any ranged damage powers with a quad of the Devastation set. Get 5 of those 3% +damage bonuses any way you can. You can also get these from Mako's Bite, and a few others that you could probably pop in here and there.
I'd be shooting for 5 3%'s, 5 2.5%'s, and 5 2%'s. That right there would get you +37.5% damage (if you can slot creatively to get that). Then, run Assault-which I think adds another +10.5% on a blaster? Be sure to also slot your powers appropriately to get to the ED damage cap, and be sure your accuracy is high. You could even try to squeeze in some dam/range HO's to get your snipe's range up.
Now then-if you've done this right, you'll have a high-level blaster that can play like a stalker (to a certain degree). Sneak in, pop off, get mobile. Restealth, sneak in, pop off, get mobile. Could be fun. Think of the character 'God' in Navy Seals.
And there's my take on it. Is it worth it, overall? Probably not. But could be fun just the same. YMMV. -
Wow-unexpected, but very nice. I need to go get to swapping!

I solo A LOT, so I feel I can comment on the story arcs. Believe it or not, if you slow down and actually read the details from the contacts on each arc, there are some that are very, very fun.
The Crimson World Wide Red arc is cool.
Of course, the Maria Jenkins Praetorian arc.
I like Janet Kallum's Take Down Countess Crey arc.
The Doctor arc from Gordon Stacy is fun-nifty overall 'bodysnatchers' theme.
The Madeline Casey Carnies arc is pretty fun, too.
And that's just blueside. Redside,
The 10-15 arc that you can unlock in PO is fun (I always mess up her name-Luna Veluti?).
The mad scientist (Vernon Von Grun?) in Grandville-he's a freakin' riot!
Johnny Sonata's arc. The last mission is great!
The unlockable contact Doc Buzzsaw. The devs totally stole some lines from the Clint Eastwood movie 'Unforgiven' for that one!
And many, many more-just take your time and read through the mission info. It's pretty good/pretty funny!
