Hey, people,
A while back, I was running weekly tf/sf events every Wednesday night at 7 pm CST. I'm thinking of reviving that-it seems like people had fun, and it was a good way to get lower-level characters some merits and levels quickly. We were generally running the non-50 stuff (although I'm open to whatever people want to run).
So, looking at my schedule, I'm thinking we go with a 7:30 pm CST start time. I'm open to suggestions as to the best day of the week, but I want to pick one and stick with it. My Tuesdays are out completely, as are Saturdays. How does Monday (yes, I know this conflicts with the MS Raids, I'm just tossing out ideas), Wednesday, or Sunday strike people? Discuss. Let's plan on nothing this week, but start up next week. Sound good? -
Ditto, people! :^)
I've been out of game a little bit more lately...picked up a PS3 and Gran Turismo 5, so it's distracting me from CoX. But I'm sure I'll be back soon! -
Congratulations, you two! And she came along in time to get yourself a nice tax break, as well! :^)
But seriously, a couple of very fast pieces of advice:
You'll feel very lost and inadequate in months 0-6, but it's normal. You'll all be fine.
You'll start to feel like you're much more on top of things in months 7-17. Whatever you do, DO NOT get used to having the kiddo fall asleep in your bed with you. Also, get her on a bedtime routine. If you don't do these things, you will regret the havoc it'll play upon your sleep patterns and your relationship.
Once you hit month 18, all bets are off. Welcome to the Terrible Twos (which actually last from 18 months until the kid is 5 years old or so)! Get used to not owning anything nice or clean and having almost no ability to do anything social. Congrats!
But, past that point, it really is worth it. Enjoy her, enjoy each other, and have a great first holiday together. Being a family is a really wonderful thing, despite how much work it is. Congratulations! :^) -
I just spent 30 minutes or so reading through some of these...very, very funny in a sick and twisted way. I dig it.
-
I can bring a 50 brute. DM/Elec. Obsidian Soul. I'll spend the next couple of hours getting some nukes and shivans.
-
I really, really hate these new Super Stunner Freaks. They suck hardcore, and not in the good way.
-
I had been doing something similar on Wednesday nights, but I suspended it during the lead-in to GR. We had a good 4-5 month run of it, and I think the regulars were getting a bit burnt out. But I'm happy to see someone is getting a regular night going again!
I'll try to be there as much as possible-but, all sarcasm aside, Cancer is correct...it wouldn't be a bad idea to join the Triumph Watch 2.0 and 2.1 channels to facilitate getting these together. -
Agreed-totally irritating bug. Bug the living eff outta it. :^)

If she's born WITH the steel baby booties, you owe Sidhe something major. I'm just sayin'.

Quote:I was going to ask how it went-I wanted to be there, but time spent with my kiddo trumps time in game. :^) I'll have to catch the next one.LOL! If Triumph is dead, then where did all the folks come from that did the Triumph Hami O raid tonight? :P
But I don't think Tri is dead at all. I think all the servers are lower pop than pre-i4 days, but that's a pretty far-back metric to rate them by. And I agree with some of what Justaris said-you almost HAD to farm back then to slog through the extreme grind from 35+ to 50. It was just mind-numbingly dull and monotonous. I like the way it is now MUCH better (even if I still wish Erectile Dysfunction-ED-didn't ever have to appear).
Things seem dead right now because:
1. Many people are in closed beta.
2. We've been waiting so long for GR, that many people are doing something else now while they wait for mid-August.
Don't worry-we'll see a resurgence then, and I predict good things with the issue after that (as we finally start to see the Coming Storm storyline unfold).
tl;dr version? Don't get your panties in a bunch, and eff off, Doom Criers! ;^) -
I have other plans, can't make it-sorry!
Wish I could...however, it's the first time in about 6 months that my daughter has expressed an interest in coming up to my new place (post-divorce) and spending the night. So, I'm definitely going to go out of my way to try to make it fun for her.
Hope you guys have a great time! :^) -
Can I make a gentle and completely non-CoX related comment on post-pregnancy stuff? Take it as you will-it's free advice, which is often worth what you paid for it.
Remember this, pregnant women: Your husband/significant other has valid thoughts and opinions on how to do things with the kid, which should not be discounted just because he has a *****.
Hear me out on this. I've recently come out of a very difficult 8 year marriage. We got married too young (25), had a kid immediately (which I don't regret), and things went sour. Part of the reason why was because I couldn't shake my wife of the notion that anything I did in relation to our child was wrong because it wasn't HER way. In her mind, I held her wrong, didn't hold her enough, didn't jump to attention at the least little whimper or cry. Over time, she ended up resenting me just for dealing with our daughter differently than she did, and for refusing to give her a blank check on how to raise her or for refusing to simply comply with everything she wanted, like a mindless puppy dog.
Women-don't forget that once you have that kid, you, the kid, and your husband become a FAMILY. That includes everyone. You are not infallible. You are not always right. Your husband's opinion should be just as valid as yours, and you should be able to compromise together to find a happy middle ground. I saw my marriage dissolve over this. I'm in the process of watching at least two more go through the same thing with friends of mine. If you're not willing to work together towards that happy middle ground, you will constantly make your lives miserable in the process. Remember that the husband/dad is a PART of the family, not just a sperm donor and check writer.
I now step off my soap box, and I apologize for the Monday morning rant. -
I had a great time on this-I was on Obsidian Soul, leader of Team Tres. :^)
Even though the first one was fairly lagarific, it seemed to go on FOREVER. I think I banked a good 500-600 vmerits on the first, and 300-400 on the second. Very nice.
Thanks so much for organizing and running it, guys-whoever was on Dragonhand did a great job of leading the way. -
Thursday 7/1/10 at 2100 Eastern? I can do that, if that's correct (and so long as it isn't a Master of attempt-I die). I've got either a 38ish earth/storm 'troller or a 44 kat/regen scrap that I can bring. Your pick.

Quote:All true-I seem to recall that the Ammo Swap sort of thing for DP was significantly different at first (and worse than it is now). It was tweaked. So even if someone knew everything about kin melee, and divulged it all on the forums, it may be inaccurate by the time things go live (let alone all the other associated fallout for that person). It's a fair enough response, hardly 'policing.' There are certainly other self-proclaimed forum cops, but the individual wasn't brow beating anybody, just stating we can't say, and why.
As to the powersets, they get tweaked a lot in betas, sometimes simply, sometimes significantly. They don't tend to post details until they get a bunch of people using it, and are happy with the result. After that, we can hope they add details to the Going Rogue site like they did for demons and such. Since there's a bit over a month left for testing, we should have details in a matter of weeks.
Patient, you must be. Virtue, it is. Sorry for my Yoda-speak, I am. ;^) -
Am I just a total noob who can't find these anywhere? What did they change?

Think Ocho became my favorite mod when he popped on to help me start up a TF when we were lacking one person. I think he just happened to be on, and saw a spot that he could help out in. He even ported someone across multiple zones to get it going more quickly. Seriously.
Earned a big smile and some happy bday wishes from me for going above and beyond the call of duty. Have a Guinness, and a great day, Ocho! :^) -
Seems like people are getting a little burnt out on Wednesday night club for right now, so I think I'll put it on hold until early Fall. Besides, I believe Catwhoorg is planning on running back to back MS raids on 6/30, starting at 2030 EST. I'm going to attend that this week instead. C'mon out and smack some alien scum down! :^)
-
I usually run Wednesday night TF/SF nights at 1900 CST...however, it's been getting slower and slower the past 2-3 weeks. I think people are due for a bit of a break from it-so I'm in, bringing my 50 dm/elec broot, Obsidian Soul. :^)

When my ex-wife was pregnant with our daughter, she was sick as a dog for the first 3 months. Then, like someone flipping a switch, it was done-and she was ravenous. She could put away more steak and donuts than I've ever seen in that 2nd trimester. So don't worry, this too shall pass-like a kidney stone. :^)

Sorry, Aria, but I think it's a general 'no' on both counts-
As for a steady group to level with, I usually solo (except for tf/sf's). However, getting on Triumph Watch 2.0 and 2.1 channels can really help you get onto groups/tf's to level up quickly.
As to taking underlevel characters, the tf mechanics of the game don't allow that. You'd HAVE to be 35+ to participate.
But, keep an eye on this thread-we've been running weekly ones on Wednesday nights for months, and we swap around a lot. I'm sure we'll hit stuff in your level range in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! :^) -
So we hauled in 6 people total, and completed in 1h3m. We plowed through everything but the last mission, where we popped some of the crystals in the last room, started a chain reaction, then mopped up the AV.
All in all, a good time. That one's fun, I'm surprised people don't do it more often!
Next Wednesday, 6/23/10, 7 pm Central-back to blueside for a Numina tf! C'mon out and have some fun! :^) -
There's a commercial I saw at the gym the other day for Docker's pants. It shows a bunch of guys running through a field, all wearing no pants. I immediately thought of our server. Copycats! :^P
-
So I ran back-to-back SF's with Mikey last night, and his widow is now at 35 and ready to rock Ice Mistral tomorrow night-
Red Six, we are GO for assault.
Hope to see you guys out there-7 pm Central time Wednesday, 6/16/10. :^)
