Quote:Yeah, I'm not sure if the cast time matters, but I had a Dom with exactly 122.5% recharge and it was just enough. It was like you said, the Domination bar starts to drop, but it's renewed before it does all the way. He's at 89.9 seconds recharge for Domination. Domination has a cast time of 1.32 seconds. Don't you need to cover the animation time to get the power to be actually perma?
I know for Perma PA I needed to be able to have the power recharge in 56.7 seconds to be able to actually keep PA out perma.
I have noticed with Domination in the past that when the power expires and the Domination bar starts it drain animation that if I click before the bar zeroes out I am able to get dom back up again. So perhaps you don't have to cover all 1.32 seconds of cast time? -
Actually you have just enough recharge for permadom without hasten.
-
Cold, Kin, and Sonic would all work. Kin wouldn't be as benefitial in an ambush farm, but if you're both munching on inspirations you probably won't be able to stay at the damage cap without help.
-
Speaking of Claws, does anyone have a fire farm with kb protection?
-
Too easy? I think so, but I think the entire game is too easy overall. All 3 trials I completed successfully the first time they went live. Even though I ran them all in beta before, it was the first time for mostly everyone else.
Now we almost failed Keyes the first time only because AM got stuck in the ground, but a GM barely made it in time to fix it. -
It's the best shield IMO. being able to softcap S/L/E defense on a squishy, what's not to like? Ranged defense is nice and all, but there's less leeway to build for other stuff, mainly +recharge.
-
Because I only feel like ordering my top 3.
1. Corruptors
2. Dominators
3. Brutes -
Yeah, I never said it sucked at all. Just said it's not the best option for farming and it isn't faster than a SS/Fire, which PB even admitted.
You can say whatever you want, but then don't get mad at being called out on misinformation. If you have fun with it, good for you, play whatever you want to play. -
You need Mass Confusion and Sleet. Also, with Ice Mastery you can pick up Hoarfrost to slot another defense proc if you're willing to pay for it.
Here's my build. I haven't updated it since February so it can probably be tweaked some.

Fire/Kin would be good for you to play, the one on follow is up in the air. If you can manage to stay in melee, /sonic would be great since you don't have to do anything for the AoE debuff.
-
I'd go with recharge and S/L defense, that's what I did with my Arch/Kin. Ranged defense is nice, but it makes it hard to build for other things along with it.
-
Quote:Stop saying this, you're wrong. DM doesn't give you anything useful for farming, it's all your secondary and epic. Soul Drain is better for regular content where you'll actually get a benfit from the +damage, but it still can't compete with Rage and Footstomp. If anyone has seen my dm/fa/mu brute INSANE farm, then they can tell ya that DM can rock it with the right build..faster than most SS/FA.
Regarding the topic, Fire is probably the 2nd best with Claws close behind due to redraw. I'll have to test my Claws/Fire that I'm leveling up once it's 50 just to see how much redraw effects the damage output. -
Quote:Except it's not very well rounded. You have recharge and that's pretty much it. Fire defense isn't needed at all, you have no S/L defense bonuses, the regen tissue proc is garbage, and you only 3 slotted Healing Flames.the build was decent but the whole point of mine was to have it all well rounded all though yours was as you said "far from prefection" i think ill just stick with mine until i find one better well i compared mine vs yours yours had a huge spike in some stats i found to be vital for the build yours did have some huge spike in defense stats i will admit but i think ill stay with mine
-
No it won't. Even perma stacked Rage on the Tank won't out DPS a perma Rage Brute and that's for ST damage where they'll have the full effect of Bruising.
-
Generally I try to slot my Doms for permadom without Hasten. Even that's overkill in some cases, so yes I'd say 145% is overkill, but there's never too much recharge.
Although, I would slot up some defense along with it, you should be able to softcap S/L defense in addition to permadom without Hasten. It does help and you won't even notice the loss of recharge. -
3 slotting Healing Flames is....interesting.
-
I didn't know veng could damage cap a Brute, nice to know.
-
Quote:Except you can easily cap your HP on the cheap side, with accolades of course.I have to agree with the comment of needing to spend 1.5-2 bill. I am a returning player and anyone who knows anything will go after the chump with low hp. While teams are great, 2 psi/ems will chomp a 1100 hp player in 2 before they even have a chance to hit phase or hibernoob. I also doubt anyone that knows how to easily farm up 15 bill is unskilled at pvp.
-
Ice Blast is pretty bad for PvP, it has low damage and the speed debuffs don't do anything. Although, if you're set on it you should get to the HP cap and slot up at least 41 pts of kb protection. Also, I'd highly advise to pickup the concealment pool for phase.

Quote:Defenders have notably higher damage numbers? That's news to me. Why would a Defender and Corruptor of the same build take different powers? They're not very different at all, you should be buffing, debuffing, and blasting with both.Except defenders have notably higher buff/debuff numbers, and notably higher damage numbers. I also expect that defenders are going to take most their primary powers, and they may skip a number of their secondary powers, while I expect the opposite from corruptor.
Expecting the same thing from a corruptor as a defender is like expecting the same thing from a tank and a scrapper, they are very different archtypes. -
They resist it, but it doesn't hurt to run it if you have enough end. In addition to Soul being the best for single target damage.
-
Cold is probably one of the best support secondaries, if not the best.
However, which would be better for a team all depends what the current team already has. Colds will stack better regardless of what's on the team, but if the team already has some debuffers, the kin will be more useful. More than one kin on a team isn't that useful since you can keep everyone damage capped with one. -
If you're dualboxing like you said, a kin will be tougher to pull off, but still doable. Fire/Kin Corrs are awesome, as for melee I'd go with either a Claws/Fire (better earlier) or a SS/Fire (better later) Brute. You'll have loads of damage, even if you decide to go empathy.
-
It's a fun combo, when on teams you'll most likely have to run ahead to use Rain of Arrows. Although, redraw is killer since kin is such a clicky set.
