It really depends how much defense you have and if you're willing to burn a power pick. My Fort is running around with 60+ defense at all times so more defense would be a waste if I ever made an alt widow build. Personally, I would definitely not take it for the recovery boost.
-
I wouldn't skip Impale. It's good to have as a ranged attack + immob and it's nice to have because of Spines lack of ST damage. As for builds, you can find mine in the other various Spines/Fire threads, probably a page back or so.
Squishy? Not really, I rarely die on my Spines/Fire now. I have about 35% melee defense in my build which helps out tremendously. -
Personally I always take Hasten on pretty much any toon, more recharge is never a bad thing.
-
Like others said, focus on softcapping your defense to all 3 positions first. Afterwards I would aim for recharge and +HP. HP and regen is very helpful for a defense based set for when attacks actually get through, more HP increases your resistance and your regen rate which is always good.

If you couldn't come up with infamy you should've originally stated that instead of saying it in a rude way, I'm sure everyone would've understood then, I know I would have. Instead you go out and say villains don't deserve an event.
Although, I still lol at villains making PvE unbalanced. Try running the mission with a team of Scrappers, Blasters, Controllers, and Defenders. I'm sure you'll get similar results. Any stacked villain team you can easily make just as a stacked team made up of heroes. -
I second SS/Fire. I'm not much of a PvP'er, but my AoE SS/Fire build does pretty good in RV considering it's built for PvE/farming.
-
Yes, it really is great. I had an Elec/Dark Brute on an innactive account. Along with that proc and good end red slotted in DR, the endurance consumption isn't that bad.
-
Here's my take on this. People have the choice to pick any powers no matter what, but they shouldn't whine if they get mocked or called an idiot for their choices.
-
I agree with everyone, time is a poor excuse to exclude villains. What it takes 30 seconds to log off back to the login screen then you just need to load a hero in.
-
Quote:Fire would probably be nice with SD. I have a SD/Fire Tank and is hella fun, but then again Fire is different between Tanks and Brutes.I've got an off topic question.
I really want to make something with /SD, but I can't find a primary I like enough to fit it with. I've considered elec, but that set just felt weak when I tried the scrapper version. I haven't liked SS since I tried it on a tanker, I'd prefer to avoid something that comes with **** like rage crashes, how are Battle Axe and fire? -
If you have enough recharge to permadom, you should't be hurting for end much between Domination refilling your bar and Drain Psyche.

Here's what I'm currently working with. 30% S/L, 41% energy, 38% ranged defense. I went with ranged defense specifically because that's where I'll be most of the time except for getting FS, heals and end. As for as you ST attacks you can drop either Snap Shot or Aimed Shot, you don't need both. I have Aimed Shot and Blazing Arrow for my ST attacks and that works fine (In mids it says I have Snap Shot because it wouldn't let me take Aimed for some reason).
Some powers have 2 ACC IO's slotted. IMO you will only need one in FS and SS with Tactics running and using Aim. Siphon Power I'd only leave the base slot it doesn't really need anymore than that. Also, if you want some more defense, I'd suggest picking up Weave, and extra toggle wouldn't matter too much with transference. As a Kin, stamina doesn't need 4 slots. That's a few ways you can save some slots/power picks.

It all depends what you want to build for. I built my Arch/Kin with defense in mind and some recharge on the side. Ranged defense is pretty easy to get with Thunderstrikes and Blessing of the Zephyr.
-
I would personally drop Aid Other/Aid Self, it's kind of pointless with a fast recharging heal like Transfusion.
-
That looks like a pretty decent build, personally I would want more defense if that is what I was building towards. Sure, you'll notice a difference except it won't bet that huge, but I guess you sacrificed it for some HP. Some other things I wouldn't do is put the heal uniques in HF. Here's what I've been using and people have been impressed that I'm not really squishy. It's built for defense unlike my FA Brute which I built for HP and recharge.

Wow, the Champion community is suppose to give you inf for YOUR events? That's the most idiotic thing I've ever heard of. And thinking I was actually going to show up for this, crazy.
"AOW promotes all aspects of CoH, except villains, you don't deserve an event." Lol. -
Some people don't have a sense of humor I guess. I love reading your guides, keep it up dude.
-
Champions server population is definitely decreasing, there's no denying that, but I don't think it's at the point where a server merge is needed.
-
Quote:Fire Breath it's....decent I would say. I took it on my Fire/Sonic because I wanted another AoE/Cone power. Fire Blast I'd definitely take over Flares. And from my experience, you should be perfectly fine with just Power Sink if you have a decent amount of +rech.Silas: Yes, I would like to see you build if that's alright.
And a few more queries:
Considering Fire Breath ... worth it?
Flares or Fire Blast? (As I don't want/don't have room for both :P)
And do you think I'll need Conserve Power if I have already taken Power Sink? In the current build I'm planning, I could easily replace it for Sonic Cage.
Thanks again,
Tux. -
There's a thread on the same page if you wanna check out some different builds. Just by looking at your powers though, IMO some are not needed or a waste. First, Assault is pretty useless on a kin, you can easily hit the damage cap using FS, SP and Aim. Next, is Soul Drain. It's a pretty decent power, but I wouldn't take it for the same reason as Assault unless you REALLY want the to-hit buff which I don't think you'll need running Tactics and using Aim.
-
Here's my take on it. Why go flight for other than concept reasons when you can get SS or SJ and just grab a jetpack.
