I'm sure that build is great for farming, actually just by looking at it, I know it is. Although, you can make minimal changes to the build to make it more effective for all around play rather than having 2 builds, like slotting KOB for damage, but to each their own. Now, the only thing I'm confused about is why no Fiery Embrace? Especially on a farming build.
  2. I'm waiting for Spines for Brutes. I wanna reroll my Spines/Fire as a Brute, it would be really awesome with a taunt aura.

    Terrible Lag?

I don't know about 3 weeks, but I've been getting an unusual amount of lag these past couple of days. Been using /sync like never before! I'm over on Champion.
  4. I six slot a set when I need the set bonus the sixth IO provides. For example, my Fire/Shield Scrapper currently has seven fully slotted IO sets.

    This.

Also, some people recruit for a speed ITF without saying so, so beware. Whenever I form one of those I specifically say I'm going for speed, I don't want anyone to be surprised if they join.
  6. Softcapped S/L defense and Permadom without Hasten is where it's at.
  7. I would if it didn't reduce the amount of free content we regularly get via Issues, but I don't think that's possible.
  8. I don't think anyone is saying that everyone has to take SB or that if they don't, they won't contribute to the team. The fact is you'll be contributing more to a team by taking and using SB, it's that simple.

Yea, a Claws/Shield/Soul would be insanely good.
  10. /Fire isn't that bad with endurance because you get Consume and run few toggles. The only reason I run into end problems ever once in a while on my Spines/Fire is because a lot of my attacks don't have great end reduction values. I slotted Obliterations and such in a lot of my attacks for the defense.
  11. Damage auras of course will be helpful, but won't be as good as with primaries you just spam PBAoE's since you'll be moving in and out of melee range for Throw Spines. Spines/Fire will get you the best mileage, but you'll have to invest a little more into it.
  12. Sorry to hear that it didn't work out. I didn't get back from the airport till after 11 so I missed it. With that said, I should be able to make the next raid.
  13. If Scrappers ever got SS how it is now I would laugh and roll a SS/SD/Mu and annihilate mobs faster than anything else.

Now, Claws is a great AoE set also, mostly due to Spin. Shockwave knocks back which is counter productive to getting enemies in the small radius of Spin. Eviscerate? Don't make me laugh. Iirc, the target cap for Eviscerate is only 5 and you'll be lucky to even hit that many, not to mention the 2.508 cast time it has. You don't hear a lot of people praising Spines AoE because of Ripper.

On a certain farm, my SS/Fire Brute gained over 150k inf/min more than my Claws/Dark Brute did even while being able to leverage Spin to its fullest. I've played around with both sets and I would have to say SS > Claws.
  14. So I've been thinking of making a Fire/Traps and I think you just convinced me to do so.
  15. I'd be happy if they just increased the duration of SB.
  16. If you drop anything I'd pick up Poisonous Ray, it's great against tougher targets like AV's. A -18.8% res debuff lets you put out some insane ST DPS.

Actually, the Grav Anchor proc is pretty good against minions and LT's. I used to have it slotted on my Fire/Psi, but I also had posi set slotted including the damage proc. I found having some extra control in a power I used a lot was very helpful.
  18. I'll be on vacation till the 26th so it all depends what time I get home from my flight and settled in.
  19. Thanks for hosting the event Acious, was a lot of fun. Congratz to Elf for taking the win.

No, I'm serious, I'm really wondering this. I've never played in a group with a Tanker when playing any of my Brutes...
It all depends what Brute I suppose. Personally, I can generate full fury off of one target with both of my Brutes (Claws and SS).
  21. My old Fire/Psi Dom used to be Permadom at lvl 22 using purple sets and lvl 25 LotG 7.5's. Like others said for leveling, you should be able to get it by 30 if inf is no issue.

I'm not concerned with top kill speed as much as I am survivability, ease of use and of course, fun factor.
You could also give a Spines/WP/Fire Scrapper a try.
  23. Well both that I suggested will be good at level 50, but won't be the "best" AoE toons. SS/Fire is great, but not that good leveling up since you get your main AoE attack at 32 compared to Claws in which you get Spin at level 6 I think.
  24. I refuse to use Foot Stomp on my Brute unless my team thanks me afterwards.
