I don't think Dark Melee is too good for PvP because of the lack of build up, but Regen Scrappers are pretty solid. And Spines/Dark will be good for farming.

Even after everyone telling you to go with Nin instead of SR? I think you'll be disappointed if you're just relying on defense to stay alive, but hey it's up to you. I'm not sure how TS effects those powers, but I would pick Nin over SR for the self heal itself. Ninjitsu has perception built into Danger Sense too btw.

Using normal maps I don't think you'll be more effective using Burn. Most of the times, on a map like Liberate, the mobs are too spread out so herding will slow you down. That's why I dropped Burn because I didn't even use it while farming.
Like I said before, the only map I can think of where you would benefit more from using Burn and herding is the nemesis platform. -
I'd go with /nin, slot for ranged defense, kb protection, and cap your HP.
Quote:I only use Retsu as an emergency power, and I can tell you I'm pretty survivable without it. Using it when you're always out of Hide is a bad idea, I try to avoid using it because I don't want to deal with the endurance crash. Besides, as a Stalker, you shouldn't be out of Hide for too long. If you start getting attacked by more than one enemy, you should retreat and try to rehide. That's where the ranged defense comes in and with Invisibility, escaping is even easier.so.....you don't need elude because heroes will hit through it anyway...so your normal defenses (which are obviously much lower without retsu/eldue) are fine? is that why nin is your #1 choice? a nin out of hide should be living in retsu since the only thing that will be able to hit it(atleast hard enough to take it down before it gets away to rehide) will be aim + BU. -
Yea I haven't really farmed it at all since the difficulty options. Although, while you're on the map it should yield you better rewards due to the mobs being so close together, but the resets would kill it. I ran it all the time with my Fire/Psi before the difficulty options because it was so convenient, used to get me around 60 kills per minute.

I used Burn when I farmed the Nemesis platform and found it effective because of herding, but I no longer have Burn. Now, I haven't used that mission since before i16, it consists of 12 spawns with 20 enemies in each. Was my go to mission for purple farming.

Quote:Personally, I think it's fine the way it is, but I'm all for for whatever you decide. People just need to stop thinking that there's some big PVPEC conspiracy, it's pretty ridiculous when you think about it.I really don't care which way its done. Regardless of what anyone thinks the end result will still be the same, random teams. There are pluses and minuses to doing it each way. Doing it where the system makes the teams means I could participate and not have to worry about teams screaming favoritism rather than me just sitting for hours hosting. The bad part of letting the system pick is on the occasion that it stacks a team totally unfairly I don't have the option to re roll it to even it out better. I could add the rule that I have the option to re roll it in that case but then what the definition of a stacked team is happens to be subjective and it would just end out being a big argument with the team that is stacked.

Quote:Looks like your comparison will be a little more fair than mine. I ran herostats with my SS/Fire and Claws/Dark Brutes on the same ambush farm and the SS/Fire made about 100k inf/minute more than the Claws. I'm using Soul Mastery on each Brute so I didn't even maximize the defeats on that particular farm.I'm actually working on leveling a Claws/Fire right now. When it's done it'll be throwing together a relatively inexpensive IO build similar to what my two SS/Fires use (basically, some +hp, +recovery, and +recharge) and will run HeroStats just to check inf earnings between the two. I know my SS/Fire/Mu builds can clock upwards of 500k inf/minute just from defeats, and I'm reasonably sure the Claws/Fire/Mu could do the same under equal conditions.

Claws is decent for farming, but SS is better like mac said. Even on those maps where the mobs are packed together, I find SS to be better.

Quote:You guys need to get over yourselves, it's getting pretty old.Assigned team members makes it a lot easier for the host to control who the winners are...after all, it only take one team-mate to throw the entire match. Glad to see the creative rigging of events continues, great job.
If you haven't read the thread, it's already been said it's being run this way to balance out teams. Sometimes you'll get lucky and get a good player and other times you won't, that's the nature of being random. This event is for new and experienced PvP'ers and to get more people interested in PvP. It would be pretty discouraging for new players if the same teams win every week. -
I stopped reading after you said Psi/EM Blasters suck. Elec/ is awesome for Stalkers although I prefer ninjitsu or regen for secondary.
-
Nice run all. The lack of pains got me on the first attempt, but after we regrouped, a few more showed up.
-
I ended up filling for someone on a team, thanks for the fun everyone.
-
Soul Tentacles is garbage, the cone is pretty small. Mu is better for pure minion/LT killing, you'll be able to throw out more AoE than Soul and make better use of Burn. Although, I prefer Soul for going up against bosses, Gloom is super good.

Had to do something after the hami raid so missed registrations by 5 minutes or so.

Quote:I don't see a problem in telling us straight up that it won't have any connection to PvP anymore. Disappointing? Well, yeah. If they would've just released CoP without telling us base raids aren't coming back with it, there would be people complaining after discovering it first hand. As for being in the PvP section, I don't see a problem with that either. Like I said before, they're just telling us that something that was once relevant to PvP'ers is no longer, and what better way to let the PvP community know other than posting it in the PvP section.Woe, woe, woe!
Calm down, there. Don't just start tossing profanity around. That's highly offensive.
As a reserved, cordial, and relatively timid individual, I can say, pretty safely, that while appreciated in a sense, this is basically a huge slap in the face. You can view it as courtesy, and that's fine, but others will take it as more or less insulting.
I'm sad that you can't understand that, but ignorance is bliss, or so they say.
BRING BACK INFERNO!!!!!!!!
On another note, Ghost Falcons neg rep made me laugh. -
Why is everyone complaining about this being in the PvP section? GF just announced that something that used to be related to PvP will not be when it's reimplemented, it's not that big of a deal. It just seems like a lot of people just need to ***** about anything.
-
Thanks for hosting, had lots of fun. Hopefully we can get more people in RV like that again.
-
Well, I currently have RotP on my current build and get some use out of it, but I plan on dropping it in favor of Burn in the future. For farming I find it pretty useless because I rarely ever die on +2/x8, not to mention when I lower the difficulty for purple farming.
-
Close your eyes when you pick your primary and secondary powersets, it will result in a good Corruptor.
-
I have a graduation party I have to attend to, so it all depends what time I get back if I can make it or not.

Now, I have a feeling that once Going Rogue releases that SS/Fire/Blaze will be an absolute AoE killing machine, even more so than Mu Mastery. This is the build I'll most likely be using for it unless it turns out to be different than I think. I'm using Mu Mastery in mids to represent Fireball etc. so you can use that also.

I have never completed this TF, but I've done the other Shard TF's which I thought were mostly boring and repetive besides a few unique missions. So if this is suppose to be the worst out of them all, I think I'll skip it. I'm fully in favor of revamping the Shadow Shard and all of its TF's, I always thought the zones were cool and the TF's had good ideas, but were poorly implemented.

I can't look at the build at the moment, but I would focus on ranged and AoE defense since you can use Parry to easily softcap melee. Of course you can softcap all 3 positions, would just be a little more expensive. If you went that route you could skip Parry as it's not really needed for PvP.
