I don't understand why some people want all content to be where you stand in one place and hit 1,2,3,4 over and over until the target is dead.
-
I guess it's impossible to run all melee teams through the new content.
Oh wait... -
Doesn't Reichsman phase if you don't have the temp power from a MM or Blaster I think it is? I bet a MM would be able to take him down.
-
What are you talking about?
Quote:The point of the PvP changes in the first place was to even the field between the IOed characters and the non-IOed characters, so you wouldn't feel like you needed to spend a bunch of money on your character to do well.
Quote:I'm sorry, but you can't tell me that 2 players of equal skill will be completely even when one is IOed out the wazoo and the other is running SOs. It just doesn't happen, given comparable skill levels the IOed character is going to win every time.
I'm sorry, but you can't tell me that 2 players of equal skill will be completely even when one is slotted with SO's and the other isn't slotted with anything at all. Now, that may be extreme, but are you going to blame the player for using SO's? Probably not.
You said before that the original purpose of the changes was to lower the gap between these builds. Now that the devs failed at that, you blame the players? -
Quote:You can't fault the players for using things in PvP that are available to them. Especially, stuff that is specific to PvP like PvP IO's.The players chose to use them, therefore, if the use of them is a problem, the people that chose to use them are the cause.
And no, you don't need billions in enhancements to be competitive. -
I'm pretty sure the last open beta was on the beta server, not the test server. So, I'm assuming there's still a low player cap on test.
-
Quote:I haven't tested it with my Cold Corr, but I know when I soloed pylons with my Mind/Fire, the debuff wore off after the patch disappeared. Are you positive? I just tested this, using the Power Analyzer, and saw that the enemy had 2-3 sleet debuffs stacked on him if I kept using sleet as soon as it was up. He never left the patch (I kept him too slowed to get out). Half the time there were 2 sleets, the other half 3 sleets.

70% global recharge with 3 slotted Hasten is the bare minimum for permadom. While for permahasten, you need about 106% global recharge with 3 slotted Hasten. Finally, for permadom without Hasten, you need about 123% global recharge and at that point, only 2 slots are required for permahasten.

Quote:This is the Brute forums. Yes, my SS/Fire can kill faster than a lot of Blasters. You can't kill faster than a blaster on a tank. You can kill SAFER.
Quote:It is a serviceable set given experience and plenty of Influence for the IO sets to plug the gaping holes in Fire armor
Knockback - Acrobatics or 1 -kb IO
Slows stopping healing - Temp Protection
Immobilize - Combat Jumping/Burn
You really shouldn't use Weave since you don't have any defense to stack it with. Combat Jumping costs nothing. Fire Shield and Plasma Shield costs .15 end/sec with 2 end red. SO's and Tough .17 end/sec. The only toggle that costs a lot is Blazing Aura and it isn't that bad since /FA only has 3 toggles.
And don't forget Consume. -
Alright, just let me know. I'll be trying a MoLRSF once those damn rare and very rare alpha boosts get released.
As far as other Masters besides the ITF, not sure if they're possible with a Mind/Fire. LGTF has the Honoree and he has a higher base mez protection and resistance so can't perma mez him. Kahn/Barracuda, well they have Reichsman and you know the deal with the STF. -
I'd have to mess around with what levels you can reliably permahold an AV at, but you can do it, especially lvl 50's. However, it's riskier and sometimes the RNG will screw you and the hold will wear off.
Confuse is a lot easier to stack since the duration is longer, so it gives you some leeway when you miss. The higher level AV's you won't be able to permahold so Confuse is the only option.
Also, if you have a high recharge build, Dominate will recharge in about 2 seconds, which is shorter than the above chain. Since the hold duration is shorter you pretty much wanna use Dominate as soon as it's up to minimize the chance of the AV breaking the mez. -
FA isn't suppose to be as survivable as other sets, it's suppose to do damage and it does that very well. Just like shields, it's not as survivable as people make it out to be without IO investment for softcapped defense. FA is far from terrible, it just takes more skill to play than other sets.

If you want to go with a Corr, I'd go with Fire/Dark, Fire/Cold, or Fire/Kin.
-
If there were such threads to revive, this would be one of them.
Seriously though, most of Mind/ is skippable, could complete this with just Confuse alone. However, my build has everything but Levitate, TK, and Total Dom. On the /Fire side, I didn't take any of the AoE's or the snipe, you want Blaze, Incinerate, and Fire Blast for your main attack chain. Confuse > Blaze > Incinerate should be the chain you use for AV's. And of course Ice Mastery is a must for the epic powerset, I completed this before it was released for Doms. -
I like /FA on Brutes the most because of the whole taunt aura thing. Also, you can pick up Gloom for a devastating attack chain.
-
The recharge of the power was adjusted shortly after it was released, before it was a copy of the Defender version. Now it's more in line, but it's still awesome. It allowed me to break 300 DPS on my Mind/Fire.
I know it says the duration of the power is 30 seconds, but that is only partially true. It's pretty weird, the full duration of the power will only last if the enemy does not stay in the patch. Otherwise, if they stay in the patch, it only lasts for the duration the patch is visible, which I think is only 15 seconds or so. -
It's hard to beat Ice Mastery because of Sleet. If you don't want that, I'd go Mace Mastery for Poisonous Ray. I don't think you'll get much out of the Mu healing pet since you should perma mez all of the AV's you fight.

Quote:With the build above it's permadom because of that. The minimum amount of global recharge you need is 70% along with 3 slotted Hasten. For your build, is it Permadom because while Hasten isn't perma, it's close enough to make sure Domination always recharges? My build looks like I could do that if I fire off Hasten when I use Domination, but it wouldn't keep it up indefinitely, there would be a gap after that point. Would that be much of an issue?

Add in Ball Lightning or Fireball and the AoE is pretty good while having great ST damage.
-
The first character I created was in i6, shortly after the release of CoV, which was OblivionX, a Necro/Dark MM. After over a year of casual play, it turned out to be my first 50 too.

Regardless of the format, I'm pretty sure teams are going to be stacked no matter what.
So, with the idea of letting people who want to stick together do so, would a 4-6 man pre-draft roster be fair? It could factor into the order of how teams are drafted. Teams of 6 could give up there first and/or second round draft picks until all teams have gotten the same amount of players.
Eh, just throwing out some ideas. -
3 Acc/Dam HO's and Hecatomb/Mako/Glad Strike procs, but that's for PvP.
-
Yeah, damage is the way to go. The base duration on Terrify is long enough, even more so when you mix in Domination.
-
And how exactly are they going to do that? I think it's too late for them to make a big change like that. The biggest 'problem' is stacking buffs and debuffs, but if they remove stacking then they make multiple buffers and debuffers on a team useless, which would be a terrible design decision.
