Quote:It's true, that can happen with Hibernate, but it's also not that difficult to figure out when it's safe to use it or not. Phase is good for being able to pop greens against the incoming damage, but a lot of people have Phase now so there's the risk of getting chased down in Phase even though most probably don't wanna 'waste' Phase for that.Well actually PFF/Phase is better for arena, you see people die in hibernate all the time because of the incoming damage that was there prior to hibernate activating and them not being able to pop another green or get another heal once it does activate. So really hibernate is probably the worst out of them all for arena......
Personally, I don't use Hibernate much in the arena. I find myself mostly using it to counter Stalkers. -
Blueside I'd go with the demon farm and redside liberate TV.

No, they're referring to the weekly strike target and if it will still be around as an alternative way of obtaining the rare alpha component. Personally, I think they should keep it just for another option.

Quote:Well, I believe the people doing stuff that's not very fun to obtain rewards has the idea of having more fun later in result of the rewards. Like for example, farming for influence and recipe drops in order to IO a charcter quickly. Sure, you can play the regular way and have fun although it will take significantly longer and some people may not want to invest that much time so they'll take the quicker route. Or maybe people just have more fun playing with uber builds that the period of having no fun is an acceptable sacrifice in order to have more time having fun. What I've gotten from this thread is that there are a significant number of people playing the game that are perfectly willing to not have fun if it means they can have their shinys now as opposed to later. Which I suppose is okay if that's what they want to do, but I still can't claim to really understand it.
Now, I don't find farming the most fun thing to do, but I do it anyways. For example I farm and PL PvP toons. Sure I can level up the character the right way and maybe have fun, but you bet I want my shiny lvl 50 now so I can have even more fun with it. -
If you're permadom without Hasten then I can tell you not to take Cardiac since Drain Psyche should be close to being perma if it isn't.

I agree, I like the changes better. I'm just still bitter about the changes to /Psi even though they balanced the set across the board rather than around one power like it was.
-
It was very entertaining. Back in i13, having my Fire/Psi permanently at the damage cap was so much fun.

Quote:I think the statement he's referring to is in a conversation we had many months ago. I said that I didn't use Rage in a specific ambush farm because I used red inspirations to the point the Rage crash started slowing me down. In all other situations where you don't have an endless supply of inspirations to burn, Rage is used. So, I'm guessing I'm the many people he's talking about.I don't think I've ever seen a SS character not using Rage outside of a few RPers here and there.
As far as how just SS/Fire goes without an epic powerset, it's still effective and out-damages most combos out there. Just cycling between Foot Stomp and Burn can be devastating. However, since I can take epic powers, why wouldn't I? I'm sure BBJ's Elec/Fire does. -
Quote:I've heard people have done it with Spore Burst since it's pretty much the same as Mass Hypnosis, but as you know it's very risky to do it without also having a ST sleep because you will most likely miss eventually.Anyone try using the Earth Sleep (or plant sleep for that matter) on the RSF as a mind dom does it?
Salt Crystals has double the recharge so I don't think you can do it with that. -
If the 6th team fell through, there should be enough to make 13 man teams so far, assuming the 5 teams all have 6 preselected members.

Quote:I think it definitely would too. I've only done this trial two times and both times it was completed pretty fast. Just did it yesterday actually in about 25 minutes for 29 merits, not bad.I also feel that if people ran the AST as much as the ITF if would pretty quickly become as routine.
The only real coordination this trial takes is making sure people are at the different generators and to take them down at the same time along with coordinating the temp powers. -
In no particular order I would say ITF, LRSF, and Apex.
The worst would have to be Synapse because doing the same mission over and over again is fun. -
Yeah, what Silas said. A Blaster would be a better choice if they're just looking for ranged ST damage.
A Corruptor won't be able to deal the amount of damage a Blaster does, but they can be good against hard enemies like AV's because of -regen.
If they're interested in doing that along with blowing stuff up and contributing to a team with debuffs, then I suggest a Fire/Rad or Fire/Traps. Fire/Cold also works and is excellent, but I'm not sure how they feel about buffing people. -
Not to mention that BA is an offensive toggle so it'll drop whenever a mez hits you.
-
This would definitely be powerful. I remember how fast we were taking down DE monsters together, although I think you still had your Sonic/Rad then.
-
I remember how Dominators were pre-i9 when they were probably the least desirable AT for teams.

Crushing Impact is actually a good set that pretty much any character can get use out of. If that's the only set you're willing to slot, who cares; it grants HP, accuracy, and recharge bonuses.
Now, I'm not sure how you slot with SO's, but usually if you slot a set, the accuracy enhancement is lower than the standard 2 accuracy enhancements in a power. In the case of Crushing Impact's, it's 68%.
However, set bonuses will fill up those holes, especially if you slot a bunch of sets. Crushing Impact's grant a 7% accuracy bonus which bumps up that 68% value to 75%. Even if you just use cheap sets, slotted right, you'll definitely see a performance boost in your characters. -
PvP IO's aren't ultra rare, they're just rare, indicated by there color. Purples are ultra rare or whatever you wanna call it, yet they are even easier to obtain.

Unstoppable doesn't give her anymore confuse protection from what I remember soloing the LRSF. What could have happened is you missed at some point and the mag confuse could have dropped off on her for a few seconds. Remember, she has a base 4 mag protection that doesn't show up using the power analyzer on top of the 50 mag protection from the purple triangles.

Most of the times I got the badge when we weren't even trying for it. While other times teams I were on had more trouble when focusing on getting the badge.
If you really just want the badge, you can just load up on temp powers like Rikis said and take down Director 11 before he even drops any mines. -

Quote:We all know that you want Tanks to be just as survivable as they are now, but surpass the damage of Brutes and Scrappers. In case you didn't know, that is never going to happen. I'm sorry, but I think you're playing the wrong game genre. This is a MMO and it sounds like you don't like them, and you never did and never will.fix the ATs that were designed for and are only good for tank and spank, ie Tankers.
In the end, yes all the game comes down to is stringing together an attack chain to defeat enemies. However, standing still for every enemy through the entire game repeating the same attack chain can get boring. What's the point of adding new content if it's the same exact thing we've been doing for all of these years with just a new skin? I for one welcome the new direction. -
You shouldn't have any problems with PvP'ers since there's never anyone in RV on Champion anyways.
