I vote Elec/Fire too. You'll have lots of damage and be a little squishier, but you should be fine backed by a Cold.
-
I don't have RotP on my Brute anymore, but when I did I never had a problem of dying after using it.

Quote:You don't need to be /Fire, just you have to be able to put out enough DPS while keeping the AV's perma mez'd. In the last mission, Numina took about a half an hour to take down. For a lower damaging secondary, a masters run might not be possible. It seems to me that any Mind/* dom could solo the LRSF in this manner (using confuse). Do you have to have /fire as a secondary to pull this off to finish off the last AV?
Quote:This thread would be so much cooler if it had an actual build in it lol.

I certainly wouldn't be against removing the crash entirely, but I think the -recovery should definitely be removed to start things off.
-
Well, if you're willing to use Kinetic Combats, they're your best option. They give both HP and defense bonuses.
-
If it means anything, I would usually take a Stalker over a fat AT like a Tank, unless it's something like a Fire/SS.
-
If only it told you how many shards you get by breaking down components.
-
Because when people are talking about how survivable SD is, they are referring to when it's softcapped, which can only be done with IO's.
-
FA does more damage and in general, SD is more survivable. However, when teams are put into the mix, FA can pull ahead depending on the makeup. Being softcapped with decent resists and a self heal, along with doing stupid damage is really awesome.
-
The Dom changes were good and brought under-performing sets like /energy up to par. However, I still can't bring myself to play a /Psi Dom again. After the changes first came about, I played around with my Fire/Psi and it wasn't terrible by any means. It's just the fun factor for me went way down and the change of play style made me not want to play it anymore.

-
Cold.
I remember when it was only available for Corrs, they were rare to see compared to other sets. Now I see Colds everywhere. -
Same.
I thought the chaos was fun, it's mostly about sticking together and knowing where your target caller is. The map takes getting used to, but I think once you know it better, evasion becomes simple because it's so easy to break LOS. -
It depends what you want for soloing, some sets are better than others for different tasks. Claws is a pretty good early blooming set with good AoE and decent ST damage.

Quote:Knowledge is key.Or you could simply learn about game mechanics. Knowledge is much more important than any of those things.
If you ask pretty much anyone if soloing a MoLRSF with a Mind Dom is difficult, I'm sure they would say yes. If you ask me, I would honestly say it wasn't difficult at all (for me) and I completed it the first try. Do you wanna know why it wasn't difficult? Yes, being knowledgeable about the TF and game mechanics made it easy. Sure, having an uber build was a necessity, but that was more about the game mechanics requiring one.
Now, I don't expect anyone to be able to complete some things that I have, not by a long shot. All I'm saying is that if you take even just a little time to understand how things in the game works, even if it's minor, it can go a long way and make tasks that much easier. It's not the devs fault if you refuse not to think and learn new things. -
Quote:If they made it like this, it would solve a lot of the problems. Then they could be more generous with the costs to craft notice's. If it doesn't turn out to be like this and players are able to run the WST and are still able to craft notice's, the costs to craft will probably be higher then some people may like.If the Conversion method was gated to a Once a Week cooldown (much like Gr'ai Matter conversion is gated to one every 24 hours atm), then that would already make it harder and longer to achive than doing WSTs.
And (one more time) making players only able to Convert a Notice OR Earn one via WST, so a One a Week no matter the method, would also stop exploitation. -
I'm guessing it can vary with different characters, but generally for farming the best rewards solo (inf/minute) was running at +3/x8 with no bosses. Now, I haven't tested it out yet, but with a level shift the best difficulty might actually be +4/x8 with no bosses.
-
I have a sneaking suspicion that the cost to craft notice's will be lowered. I do think the price is a little too high as is.
However, crafting it definitely should take longer for obvious reasons. And it's hard to compare the WST vs. the conversion method since the WST is time gated. It takes a minimum of 4 weeks to craft a very rare, so it should take over a month to obtain a very rare the 'solo' way. Now that's only considering the current system that we know. Things can change once we know about how it's going to work with the incarnate trials. -
Oh, my! What happened to the bears, did they all go with Dex or something?
-
I'd like to say cut the amount of total shards needed in half and from a totally solo standpoint I think that's reasonable. However, I think what makes balancing these rewards difficult is the fact that this option isn't only available for soloers.

If I HAD to choose, I'd usually pick the Scrapper every time. Although, I really don't care what people bring on my teams ever. I always tell people who ask, to play whatever they want to play. It's not like Stalkers can't contribute to teams, I mean I've had some tank Recluse in the STF, but generally a Scrapper can do more.

I'd personally go in a different direction and go with Mace Mastery if you don't mind switching sides and running the patron arc. As a Kin you should be in melee often so S/L defense will help with this and it's pretty easy to softcap with Scorpion Shield. This will let you go after other set bonuses, mainly recharge. I know I couldn't live with just 15% global recharge without Hasten.
Also, I'd find a way to slot up Shriek. Shriek + Scream yields about the same DPS as Shout without factoring in the res debuffs. -
I ran Kahn with half a team of pvp characters (Psi/EM Blasters), 2 Brutes, and a Fire/Rad and Fire/Kin Controller. After the first mission went smoothly, the Fire/Kin quits because they wanted to find a more stable team rather than having 4 Psi/EM's taking turns tanking Reichsman with Hibernate. I'm not sure if this person was mentally challenged since we did have 2 Brutes after all.
Anyways, we went on to completing the TF without any problems in about 35 minutes. It was no speed record or anything, but afterward, everyone sent a tell to the person who quit with our completion time.
