Damage procs only have a chance to go off every 10 seconds, whether you're in the range of enemies or not.
-
There's really no effort in having enemies gather around you when you AoE them to death, since you should be in the middle of them regardless. And for harder targets like AV's, gathering targets for a few seconds is well worth the time, if they're not already in the middle of a group.

You feel left out because you can't get some costume pieces without running the trials? You must really hate all of those booster packs then.

Quote:You died easily on a /DA Brute that was softcapped to S/L/E/N? Something tells me you aren't very good.Sure that build is nice but it costs about 8 bil more than my character and is far out of my reach.
58.1% Vs 41.5% is the difference between 41.9% incoming damage and 54.1125% (factored in AAO) incoming damage for just under 25% difference (over 25% for ranged attacks).
I guess it all depends on perspective, I have just finished rerolling my Dark Brute into a Tank because he was too easily slaughtered, considering he was 25% more resilient than your shield Brute, I expect that Brute is even more likely to be lying on the floor.
A 55% damage bonus means nothing to a corpse. -
Check my sig. Not all of them are the fastest times, but it gives you some more to throw into the mix.

Quote:My SS/Fire has under 30% S/L defense, and around 20% melee defense. I'm really not sure how many melee attacks and ranged attacks they use, so I don't know exactly how much I get out of the defense in a fire farm. But, I can run at +4x8 with bosses without the need for inspirations. When dealing with +4 bosses (the best setting for inf/min), they will tear you appart even with capped resists unless you have decent defense numbers.
I was more referring to that it's useless slotting for fire defense when you should solely be focusing on recharge for a farming build, especially when there are endless amount of inspirations to keep you damage capped and softcapped. -
I can see where they're coming from, a lot of people had no idea this league existed and I'm certain there's really no other organized PvP going on elsewhere. Artic did post in other forums about the league, but the threads were quickly deleted for cross posting. Even the whole team of 8 signups was only posted on the CAPE forums and when it was finally posted on these forums, only teams of 4 were allowed to signup.
Bringing in another team will never be a bad thing. Nobody wants more people to join the free agent list, let alone a whole nother team. I know my team doesn't want to pickup more people, we have to sit out a couple people each match as it is.
I commend the efforts of the league organizers, I really do. However, always abiding by the rules isn't good if it's just for the sole purpose of following the rules. Remember the saying Budweiser used in his league regarding the rules (which he stole from me)? "If you don't like the rules, quit." Everyone was against a lot of his rules and the fact that only a select few that he picked were coming up with the rules.
If you want to be different from Bud's league, I say let them join! I mean rules were already broken on the first night, as minor as they may be, with lineup submissions and time in between matches. Why not break some more to let people who truly want to PvP, PvP. -

I'm glad there are different mechanics in this trial. This game is way too easy, including this trial.

There wasn't any point in playing FF from an efficiency standpoint even before all of these incarnate powers.
-
Because slotting for defense is even more useless when you have capped resistance. And of course slotting a build in reliance of an NPC is bad.
-
Well, you also have to consider the low base accuracy, the cast time, the recharge time, and the fact that you need to be grounded to use it. I think it's a fair tradeoff when comparing it to Fossilize, which is part of the same set.
Besides there are other really broken 'mez' powers out there like Soul Storm and TK that I'd worry about first. -
If you wanna see a SS/Fire in action (not mine) check out the 14:45 ITF link in my sig, it's a youtube video of the TF recorded through a friends Brute. It was before all of this incarnate nonsense, but it'll give you an idea of how awesome they can be.

Like others said, there's really no best. Some combos will be better in the early game, while others will be better later.
Honestly, you can go 2 Fire Corrs with any secondary and be highly successful. Fire is simply the best primary. -
Quote:I'd welcome another team, just so there's more people, it will only help things in the end and keep the dwindling PvP community active. Even if the team came in with some kind of penalty in the rankings for joining late. I think restricting access to players, even if it's because it's against the rules is detrimental to the PvP community and will only help lead to the inevitable death of PvP.You know honestly having vinnie and silit team would probably have been good. I posted this in a privet forum previously, yes the obvious problem with the skill disparity is teams getting rolled but the one thing no one has said yet is the fact that the Lib vs artics matches will be the only challenge these two teams ever have. I would think that would be boring for them. Personally I liked the way the last freedom league was set up a core of 6 with the rest being drafted.
Not that my opinion matters.
One thing I will say is I am consistently surprised by the attitude of the champion league people. I don't know if they are just stubborn mules or just have amazing attitudes but the just roll with the punches and take their licks and come back for more. Are they having fun? Idk I would say at times but the sound i hear in their voices after being farmed doesn't sound like fun. Yet they keep coming back so props to them.
A big problem I've seen from the past couple leagues is that once the league was over, arena PvP kind of died down. Once Bud's league was over, PvP died on Champion and you couldn't even get kickball going. Those who still wanted to play in a league moved over to Freedom. Once that league was over, arena PvP died again with quite a few people leaving the game. I'm afraid that might happen again even with a league already planned after this one.
And I agree Philly, I really like the way FML was setup with a core of 6, captain ran, and simple rules. Except for the events at the end of the league, it ran smoothly and was relatively drama free, besides from the usual trash talk from some individuals. -
Burn doesn't cause fear anymore, that's one of the things they changed with the FA buffs and one of the reasons Burn is so good now. Most of the damage is frontloaded unlike before with some damage ticks.
I know some Scrappers say that enemies still run from Burn, but that's not Burn, it's the lack of taunt aura. -
Quote:Keeping Domination on auto is better, unless you enjoy clicking powers more than you have to.Do hasten on auto and click dom... I have 2 or 3 dom stacked at a time, and I am mostly sure I have less rech than you. I think. Maybe?
Well, the bug had to do with auto powers sometimes not casting after you zone. Unless we're talking about two entirely different zoning bugs. -
If I remember correctly, it was originally advertised or talked about to be just that (hardcore/competitive). At some point Cherry/MAH decided to change the focus of it a bit, not that I have a problem with that.

Burn and Fiery Embrace are irreplaceable. If you want top notch AoE and ST damage, it's the way to go.
You can make a SS/Fire pretty tough in addition to its unrivaled damage. I believe it's the only melee character to solo the STF thus far. For incarante trials you'll likely have some sort of outside buffs, plus there are always inspirations. -
Both. You can easily achieve permadom and softcap S/L defense.
Yes, you have controls, but defense is really helpful on fast paced teams and against things you can't mez right away.
Quote:Is that global recharge or including Hasten? If it's global recharge, that's enough for permadom without the need for Hasten. If it's with Hasten then you need more recharge for permadom. How bout for a Mind/Psi?
Last night I finally got my Dom to 126.25% Rech and I went to battle and my Dom got wiped! I couldnt even keep perma up since I have to pay attention to Hasten and Domination...Should I go for a bit more Rech and look into some form of Defense?
Mind/Psi should be fairly easy to permadom and softcap S/L defense. My Mind/Fire has permadom without Hasten and is softcapped. If you get as much recharge as me, you would be really hard to kill with the defense and near perma Drain Psyche.
