  1. Amazing! I linked it to my multi-game guild's ongoing MMO watch thread, hopefully it'll tease a few more players over here

The video was beautiful and brilliant, and the music really made it! Kudos to both you and the composer!

Yeah, I did that, and I used the Vidiomaps too. I just have no idea how one didn't register First thing I did in each zone was badge it.
  3. Okay, I'm at 19/20 on this one. Is there ANY way to know which one I missed, or do I have to go click them all again?

Yeah, my group didn't even get to fight Marauder in that mission. They killed him before we even found the spawn :|

Uh... no thanks. Seriously, no freaking thanks.

Some powersets like /regen have very little in the way of defense and resistance, and few opportunities to slot those sets. Taking the Fighting pool is a good way to supply those things, it's not necessarily stacking anything.

And making the Leadership pool ally-only and excluding the self? Boy, gee, thanks. Take away the few self-buffing powers my poor Empath has? Wow, no thanks. That might be an okay move for people who only team, but for folks who solo or duo through the game, that would suck rocks for no discernible benefit.

We don't need to NERF anything else just because we're getting Fitness inherent :-/

We bot hahd alol and thought it was agreat way to kick off that particular RP moment.
    That's great!
  8. My RP group talks back to NPC dialogue all the time. If we're responding to an NPC, we do it in /local, otherwise we RP with each other in /team.

Medicine - in most cases inspirations are better than this power pool. Aid Other has such a short range and small heal that it's virtually useless. Stimulant's duration and range are also too short. In most cases Respites > Aid Self because either you have so much mitigation you rarely need it or you're being hit with so many things you wouldn't have a chance of pulling Aid Self off. Inspiration combining for Wakies > Resuscitate.
I've got 2 scrappers who tank for their groups who have the Presence taunt because it's an AoE rather than a single like the scrapper taunt.

I've got 2 characters with the Medicine pool all the way up.

There are characters who use the powers, even if you don't see 'em
  10. You can get the badge without being in the ship raid. Once the zone announces the shields are down, just fly over there, get your badge, and leave. That's how we got our RWZ beacon.
  11. I actually deleted my main back in i6 or something, she was my first character and she was the ever-dreaded "healer" emp - I hadn't slotted attacks and the partner I was leveling with quit the game. I was in an SG but no one was going to commit to playing with me every single day, so Trillium only came out on TF days, or when someone was stuck with an AV mission, and this was back where leveling took a long, long time.

I deleted her at 35 I think, so I could roll an ill/emp with her name. I got to KR and kinda freaked out about having done it, contacted a GM, and they actually un-deleted her. I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to do that, but it's been years so I'll admit to it now, I think no one will get in trouble

Please, don't even joke. Turbine just ruined LOTRO with that crap. CoX is perfectly fine running on the subscription/booster pack system. If this game goes pay-to-play too (and yes, free-to-play is NOT what DDO/LOTRO are, they're pay-to-play, make no mistake, and we're getting a lot LESS now that it's gone "free") I'll probably be done with MMOs for the forseeable future.

Well, I can say that, thanks to the recent LOTRO change, I personally brought about four new players in from my kinship there to join me here. So yeah, there are indeed new people. Also, at least on Virtue, I've never had trouble finding a team when I want one, indeed, I'm much more likely to be bothered by people sending me team invites I'm not interested in!

  14. I hated my Warshade but loved the character, so I re-rolled her as a Fire/Pain corruptor and recolored all the blasts and heals to look like Warshade energy.

I rerolled my DD Defender/scrapper as a DS/Thermal and recolored the thermal to look Dark for character consistency.

I've got an Earth/Rad where the Rad is all recolored dark brown to continue the Earth theme (it really looks like clouds of dirt or dust)

I recolored all of my Clockwork Elec/Elec's blasts a different color just because >.> She's like playing a christmas tree!

By utilizing City of Heroes' current staggering amount of content, revamping the game engine, introducing some new systems and upgrades, City of Heroes 2.0 could be re-launched to the public to compete with other more current MMOs
This is what I think, and what I hope. Having just gotten a new shiny video card and being able to truly enjoy Ultra mode and the beauty of Praetoria at more than 10fps, the legacy zones look pretty scrubby in comparison. I would love to see them re-launch CoX with the older zones buffed up, the contact trees trimmed and made to flow better, and perhaps some engine changes to tone down the lag and the rubberbanding that run rampant through this game no matter what your settings are at.

Power Pool/EAT/MM power customization and the abillity to have the game set and remember your preferred idle/fly/costume change animations would be delicious frosting on that cake.

Either that or the "Coming Storm" FINALLY comes... (invasion from Praetoria anyone)
This would be a bonus and a good "reason" to launch 2.0 as a big deal. Not JUST polished-up old assets (which would be the complaining cry of many, "you didn't give us anything NEW!") but also the invasion from Praetoria and hopefully a tie-in from Cimmoria/Oro to wrap all those loose ends up.

Heck, if it's even a fraction of those things, I can sure see the need for a signed NDA! Just the news that it was happening would blow people's minds!

Re: DR in PvE - everyone who thinks this would be a good addition to the game is pretty much playing damage-dealing characters and not controller/defender/corruptors, imo. It would be a fairly fatal blow to certain ATs being able to solo on anything above +0/x0. I would have to seriously reconsider my sub I guess - I just watched my other MMO (LOTRO) self-destruct to a bunch of game-wrecking changes, I don't think I can handle CoX doing it too

The Razer lefty mouse has all of TWO extra thumb buttons, yahoo :P
  20. Well, I got a brand spanking new Radeon 5770 and reformatted my c: drive (my windows was crudded up) and that pretty much took care of the matter, LOL Thank you for your help, folks!

This way, more costume pieces can be chosen to go over this new skin type, instead of the skin type just being the costume piece itself.
I'd like to throw in a vote for this. This would be EXCELLENT, and help a lot of theme issues where you really want a certain type of character's body (say, monstrous fur) but you'd also like them to wear clothes (like say, a tank top.)

As a lefty, this (http://www.simhq.com/_technology2/technology_091a.html) has pretty much saved my gaming/mmo'ing life. I always had to re-bind all my relevant keys to the num pad so I could keep my left hand on the mouse pad, and then steer with the arrows... very messy setup in a lot of games, trying to decide which most vital keys I could bind around. The Zfang is the best lefty-friendly pad I've come across, easy to use, and I can bind different layouts for the different games I play. I <3 it.

You know, I'd kinda put "keybinding" in the list of 10 useful elements people overlook. You can really customize your game playing keys, be they on the keyboard or a pad, to do most of the useful things with the most convenience to you. I know that's one of the first things I do in any game.
