Quote:This!Nothing would make me happier than to see an entire Issue dedicated to cleaning house. There's a distinct feel of quantity over quality lately, and I don't like it. Poor QA, grade school writing and a complete lack of action on long-standing bugs is not the way to attract new players, or retain the existing ones.
A lot of the old zones are really really showing their age, and it's one of the main things that CoX gets knocked down for in reviews. Polishing up the old content would be a great way to KEEP some of the new people who go through Praetoria and then get dumped into the oldest zones in the game. -
Quote:Yeah, I'm in the same bus... I've been fighting for the beast pack FOREVER and the options they gave us are nice, but SO limited.I bought it, but finding this out was a REAL downer. What was done was done well, and that's great and all, and I hope for it to get added to the pack at some future point. I mostly bought it to support further development. I had a few ideas rattling around to use it with, but without those options, it killed anything I was considering.
Why can't we use the ears we already had available to us on the new heads?
Why is the scaling customization SO limited on the new heads?
Where is the NECK on my wolf head and why is it so tiny? Give your werewolf any muscles at all and she becomes a pinhead! Why can't I make the head bigger than standard, only smaller?
Why are the cat feet STILL not cat PAWS, but instead have exposed claws just like all the other monster feet?
Where are the extra feathers for bird people besides having a bird head? How about a feathery shoulder fringe like the fur collar, feathery-patterned gloves and tights?
It's nice, and I certainly bought it, but... yeah. I'm underwhelmed and sad because I know they tend not to ever go back and add more to stuff they consider "finished," besides the fact it took us like 6 years just to get these. -
I'm making booties for mah babies!

Quote:Yup! I've got a character frozen at 25 and one at 40 just to farm tickets for bronzes for my own use.Recipes like Thunderstrike, Crushing Impact, Doctored Wounds, Efficacy Adapter, all flow like water out of bronze reward rolls. And, coincidentally, these are the very recipes I'm looking for on all my 30-something toons. And these are the very recipes which are not for sale at the AH. You'd think this would be a big win, huh? But my 32 blaster isn't ever going to slot a 32 Thunderstrike. The only toons who are looking for an even-level IO are all 50, and they have no difficulty finding recipes of any sort.
Honestly, so many of us have trouble finding mid-level recipes, I think AE could be much more popular for its rewards if we could just shift that stupid slider bar 3 levels up. -
I know right? I guess the devs shouldn't have given us snipes then... :P

Quote:I think it would be awesome to have a better sorting system and tags for arcs. Anything that would help sort out what some people enjoy from what others enjoy more easily, without penalizing anyone else. This is just an idea, but I think giving players a better way to sort the missions available to find what THEY like and will fit THEIR playstyle could help with two problems. First, it will get the lesser-played arcs out of the AE purgatory basement (helping the authors), and second it will help stop the flooding of missions that pop up for you to have to sort through on your own (helping the players).
It would also be awesome if the edit-and-republish feature worked better, in order to bring arcs back up-to-date when some change in the system ruins them. -
Actually, I had less trouble with Honoree than with Trapdoor in most cases. You can totally solo-pull Honoree with any ranged attack (Blackwand/Nem Staff vet power for my scrapper) without fiddling with the Rikti or their portals.

90% of my characters are female.
Of those who are male, one's a defender, one controller, one MM and one scrapper.
So... no. The AT has nothing to do with gender for me.
PS: I looooove my female Brute! -
Quote:This. If you're getting 10-15 shard drops per TF, plus the end component, I am jealous of your luck with the RNG.
I would like to see team drops equalized, frankly, and non-TF drops tweaked upward. I've been on way too many TFs this week where I walk away with 2-3 shards and several teammates walk away with 10-15. And I haven't gotten a single solo shard drop with 3 incarnates doing their 5 tips every day and one of them doing 2 story arcs. So for me, the drop rate is pretty much exactly where you want it. I'll swap with ya :P -
Most of my reasons have been mentioned, but:
It's hard to CREATE in that thing. The interface is clunky and extraordinarily time consuming, and you don't get nearly the customization of the mission itself that's needed in most cases.
It's hard to FIND good arcs in there. And my standard of "good" isn't the same as other people. Talos Island Vice is a well-build storyarc that lots of people have recc'd - I hated it. I can see the quality, but I hated it. So those lists of "guaranteed good" arcs are only good if you share the same TASTE as the listmakers, which is sort of arrogant in its assumption that if THEY like it, YOU'LL like it.
I like farming in AE, but it's hard to find story arcs in amongst the farms. I too am a fan of the idea of having a farm tag to separate the stories and the farms from one another.
A lot of the custom critters are HARSH. They give out LESS xp than normal mobs and many of them are just BRUTAL to fight at less than level 45+. Since I'd mostly like to use AE to skip through lower levels where I've played the content to death, stuff like that really harshes my squee. And the normal mobs are boring and don't feel like I'm playing anything new. -
It'd be nice if people would restrain themselves from posting SOLELY to gloat and be dicks about things. But we know that's not gonna happen.
I agree with those sad that the devs are cutting off a valid strategy and further narrowing the options. I've beaten him solo and teamed and probably won't have problems doing so in the future, but the "nah-nah-you-suck" gloating just makes you look like a tool. -

Quote:The lava thing really never worked for me. However, pulling him down the hall out of the LOS of the bifurcations (who always spawn in the room) nullifies their regen. You have to pull him fully out of their LOS, not just into the big room, he has to personally be in the narrower hall.Hmm. My Dark/Dark Defender is having a rough time with Trapdoor. Tried pulling him in the lava and he just kept jumping out (even from melee range), tried pulling him down the corridor but I couldn't dent his HP (so he was still getting a regeneration boost, or he's really resistant to negative energy). Sent my temp pets at him, and used up my inspirations. I'll have to try again later. I haven't had such a problem doing damage to him with my previous nine characters.
Had the same problem on my Widow, who's built as a team-oriented AOE machine, just couldn't do enough damage to kill him fast enough. Pulled him into the hallway, loaded up on Lucks and Enrages and got it done. -

I seriously had to play with my gaming buddy on autofollow and my camera pointed at the floor, with all the sounds off >.< It was baaaaaad.

As someone who's consistently the one person on the TF with 2-3 shards while everyone else is racking up 10+, and who hasn't gotten a single non-TF shard to drop, I hate you, Leo

No, it isn't.
Having played The Big Game and The Game That Recently Went F2P But Isn't Superheroes for several years, and having raided in both, with meters in the first and without in the second, no, it really isn't useful in any way.
And there's certainly nothing in CoX that would warrant it.
Also.... I don't care if I'm using OMGtheMOSTefficientattackchainEVAR when I'm playing this game. So what?
