Quote:Thanks for the info Zwill, but if it was already addressed in an upcoming build, why push this build live? This bug effects a majority of players (F2P, Premium, & VIP), if not all of them (AFIAK). Seems like a bad decision to push this patch out, even with the new Incarnate abilities (that only VIP players can access).
If they have a fix, why release this? Seriously, very little was actually added to the game in this patch, but a whole host of VERY obnoxious bugs were.
Wrong. It was reported repeatedly on Beta. There's zero excuse for this going live. -
Quote:Less KB should be an optional feature. Personally, I love it because a lot of my melee characters duo with characters with KB that makes me scream. But lots of squishies use KB to good effect and need it to survive. Blanket nerfing the effect without any sort of documentation is unprofessional at best.Good, maybe this will finally get me to play my Peacebringer again. Less KB is good feature.
Seriously, whoever greenlit this partial patch should be strung up. Nothing new, undocumented nerfs and a load of bugs?
Oh, but we get rare incarnate salvage now. Whoopdie-doo for the rest of the game. -
Quote:What she said. I can't even reload my default, which has/had? my preferred settings.
For me this is about equivalent to having to recostume my character every time I log in. I'm surprised that so few people customize their UIs that they sent this live as is.Quote:I'm looking at the numerous bugs that go through on this patch:- The infantile KB
- Mace Mastery mace still malfunctioning
- UIs being reset
- Bases going all "Skynet" on their owners
For what it is worth, I am still excited about many of the changes, just wish so many bugs hadn't come with 'em :/ -
Hm, looks like you're right. I guess seeing the "an image of a strange land forces itself into your mind," immediately followed by the cut scene just made me assume that's the image I was getting forced into.
-
No, I'm pretty sure when it actually happens there's text that says you're seeing it. Apparently I need to play it through again to find the exact wording, will come back...

Quote:Not true, in the very first SSA (hero side, anyway) there is a message that the explosion of the Obelisk takes your mind away (or something to that effect) to a strange place, which turns out to be a bar in the Rogue Isles. So at least the first SSA cutscene is meant to be viewed in-character.But we only saw 'Jean' in cut-scenes that our characters never witnessed. Since our characters never saw him they had no reason to tell us who he was. They could have had a black screen with captions on it instead of the cutscenes if they wanted to, or even no cutscenes at all. I would have prefered cutscenes which actually had something to do with my character, but it is what it is.
Our characters might have recognized him during the negotiation fight, or might not since he was out of costume. Manticore certainly did but he wasn't sure which side he was on until it was too late. -
Quote:That's basically how I feel about her. I'm willing to give a nod to the possibility that Miss Liberty was killed, not to discredit Manticore and make States snap, but to give Ms Liberty a Heel Face Turn that may very well end with her being the one who dies (because the rest of the Phalanx has to take her down) or in fact the weapon that ends up killing one of the others. If you ask me, she doesn't have that far to turn.Given the shady practices of her own private army, I've always sort of seen Lib as kind of a loose cannon. She just comes off as having this facade of heroism, but kind of dirty and arrogant at heart. In that regard, not all that different, actually, from her Praetorian mirror. Of course, a lot of this is based less on her direct action and more on the actions of, like, 90% of the Longbow agents out there. I'm sure Megan doesn't approve at all of their actions. It's just how like Countess Crey has nothing to do with all those rogue mad scientists running loose in her corporate structure.

Quote:Manticore: "I can get my own way out of here."Stop using broken English.
Stop repeating words.
Check that all fields in both contacts are filled in.
In other words - get an intern to proofread these horribly written missions.
Seriously? :P
Also, what the heck is that graphical line at the submarine now? It starts in the water at the center of the sub, goes out into the bay and then cuts in a right angle to the bridge abutment. It's hideous and obvious. I bugged it, but I don't have much hope they'll fix it. -
Quote:You mean when they're like "Go ahead, read my mind," and she says "NO, YOU TELL ME!"Typically, it's considered a serious ethical violation to force one's way into someone's mind and pull out whatever information one wants.
And also when lives are at stake and she chooses to be "nice" (despite getting permission) instead of delving into the plan?
Yeah, I guess the Phalanx subscribes to the "evil wins because good is stupid" morality system... -
Quote:Well you know, that's just like Psyche standing there in Malaise's cell going "NO I WON'T READ YOUR MIND EVEN THOUGH YOU KNOW ALL THESE DETAILS AND WHO'S BEHIND THIS AND THE WHOLE PLOT, YOU TELL ME WITH YOUR MOUTH!"Numina used to be able to raise the dead. Did she conveniently forget how to do that?
Seriously, the writing is AWFUL. -
Actually, I'd like to say the path aura alone would be a fantastic release for me. The SSA is frosting on the cake. I've been dying for something like this for my dryad character forever!

Quote:THIS.This is getting out of hand. I can't even stay logged in for a few hours now. If I dare remain inactive I get logged out the next time I visit. vBulletin is broken beyond hell and approaching worthless.
Lock this thread, hell nuke it from orbit for all I care, just fix the friggin' thing.
Uh, yeah, and clearly that support contract is working out so well for them, with the logout bug going on for YEARS now... -
Quote:Personally, I feel they should do new sales at least bi-weekly. Maybe then there will be less need for filler.Quote:Kind of agreed. I'd rather not have anything for two weeks and a certain power set than a few nifty auras. But hey, been looking forward to SSA3 too.
Feel better by the way, Zwillinger.
The little weekly tidbits are FINE. Lots of people do enjoy them. Lots of people won't buy them. Personally, I didn't buy the fireman's helmet, the undead survival pack, or any of the permanent NPC changes. Does that mean they shouldn't have been released? Ridiculous. I've seen other folks using them, so what gives me the right to say they shouldn't?
Little tidbits every week is great, and if they were only doing monthly releases, that wouldn't necessarily hurry the powersets we want. It would only raise expectations for that monthly release. And when we get a monthly release with the SSA, the NPC powers, the undead pack and a hat? Then what? Will people clamour to have content releases pushed back to quarterly?
Unreal. -
I had the same problem, Tex. On my emp defender, no problem with the Underground, loved it. On my ff/grav troller? Not so much. With no heal to take care of the multitude of environmental damages and no good long-range blasts, I felt like a tag-along. Also, I got targetted at least six times during that fight. I got back up away from everyone, but other folks didn't. Breaking LOS, going WAY back down the hall, nothing stopped him from totally ruining me, and then I either had to wait for someone with a rez to notice me or fly back (the hospital porter doesn't put you right back in the action, sadly.) It was pretty demoralizing.
Had the same problem on Keyes, really. After running the incarnate content on my emp, I got used to having heals at hand. Swapping to a character without them and realizing exactly how much random environmental damage you get pinged for (and yeah, I count turrets, you're just standing there and BLAM! oops!) when you've got no heal to fix it. -

Yeah, pretty much... we seriously need an update on this. It needs to be fixed asap. I don't know a single person who's gotten all the tokens they're entitled to at this point, and no one knows when they can expect another one.
Apparently the answer to the thread title is : Yes. -
Quote:Yup, think it does!Indeed, I think I could probably write the entire thread myself.
Lets see, some people will come in and post in support, some will post in opposition (mostly citing the poor impression it creates for a possible returning player).
A few people will come in and make implied insults that anyone in favor of it is unimaginative and listing all of the good names they have recently acquired.
Someone from the old EU servers will come in and request a global name purge so that they can get back their old global name.
Someone will bring up the CharacterName@AccountName system used in a certain other MMO and will get shouted down.
I think that covers it.
And yeah... that was the only macro I had on hand, and I didn't feel like altering it to "six-hundredth" :P -
You know, I find that's true, too. I'm not sure why, but I presume it's because DfB will run with 4-8 players, instead of 12-16.

I'd like to get ANY of my tokens on my renewal date.
I pay monthly, I got one token late in October and my renewal date is the 3rd. Didn't see one for October (I'm assuming the one I got in October was the one I didn't get in September) and haven't gotten one for November, despite the fact I've already paid for that month.
I'm contemplating dropping to Premium til they sort this crap out. I'm starting to feel like I'm rewarding them for some very bad behavior. -

Quote:I... can't tell if you're serious or not.Is this still happening?
The log in cookie is possibly still set to 24 hours, but we've talked to the appropriate parties about having this changed to 14 days.
Seriously?
YES. STILL HAPPENING ALL THE TIME!
Quote:Every single time I close the browser. Every. Single. TIME. It doesn't matter if I closed it 5 minutes ago or 24 hours ago. The forums require me to log in every time I want to use it.
Even if I leave the forums up in a browser tab for more than 2 hours, I have to log back in.
Quote:Ditto. The only thing the Remember Me does is gives me false hope.
Before the switchover to Freedom, I would get the logout bug MAYBE once a week. During the time period when a bunch of us had to change our passwords to get back on the forum, I changed mine (to the exact same password) and now I get the logout bug ANY TIME I close the tab with the forums in in. I check remember me EVERY TIME. It does not remember. -

Yeah, I was just asking my husband "is the forum doing this to you too...?" as we're both browsing it...
Maybe they're fixing that *#^%(*#^& login bug???
