... Can't say this wasn't expected, but it's still a tad disappointing. -
Well, the mediocre travel power aside, the costume pieces are magnificent. So much so that I will definitely be buying this one.
Backpacks, DO WANT MORE LIKE THIS PLEASE
Though a more normal hiking-type or military-type backpack would be nice, really.
Victorian Decor Aura, DO WANT MORE LIKE THIS PLEASE
This "Decor Aura" technique has so much potential, runes, tech, veins, the possibilities are boggling.
The "oil effect" from the Clunker Aura also has a lot of potential, though I can't see it for any of my current characters...
The costume Change emotes could find a bit of use on my character concepts as well. Oil Strike could work nicely with a lot of Dark or Demonic themed characters...
Not to mention the victorian dress options and the male vest options. Just... Too... Classy!
All in all, great job on this! -
Quote:The problem isn't that they can't add things, but that the current code is at it's limit. Adding just about anything needs a whole rewrite of the code. Add a polygon here, an item there, yep, whole rewrite.Rebuilding from the ground up is a good idea, but it's unlikely to yield results from the Devs. Simply adding in more items would help a lot, like the Arachnos set, a transparent SG Symbol, water...stuff like that.
Those and make cabinettes solid instead of see through from the bottom.
It's not even just bases, but the whole SG system. SG v1.x is done, it's buggy beyond repair, wasn't made with the future in mind from the beginning, and needs to be scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up. -
Quote:Yes, some Snake and Shark stuff would round out the pack nicely without overcrowding it.ahhh thank you... but rodent and more reptile stuff still would be nice
Considering what I've seen on Test so far doesn't look like it adds up to anywhere near 60 pieces, I'd say there's still hope for one or two sets after all... -
Quote:Curses, you beat me to it... That whole arc, all of Doc Buzzsaw's dialog... So full of win. From Doc Buzzsaw:
"Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?"
The best I've uttered in recent memory, after getting scrapperlock on my Bane: "Ah defeat, I should have expected this. After all, the bonkstick is a harsh mistress." -
Quote:The bonus is once-a-week per character. If you run it with a sub-50 you get the bonus reward for that character for his only time during the week.Has anybody tested this scenario ?
I am not level 50 yet, I run the weekly TF. I get the bonus double merits and XP.
I run it again having hit 50 and unlocked my alpha slot, I understand I don't get double merits again, but do I now get my notice of the well ? or have I already had my weekly TF special reward.
When you run it on your level 50, you get the bonus and the notice for his only time during that week...
And so on. -
I've seen a vote here already for Leadership, but I'm gonna specifically say Vengance. I see it get a lot of bad press, since it requires a player character death. Consider that it basically turns a bad Stalker or Blaster into a halfway decent Empathy Defender for one fight. It's good with just the base slot, and keeps getting better with every slot you can spare on it.
Almost every character I have picked up Leadership in exchange for their Fitness almost solely for that power, only saving the toggles for when someone tosses out Recovery Aura or there's a competent Kin in the group. -
Quote:Right, perhaps I should specify, if there are any Noble Brutes or any of the boss level Brute, kill those first.I have to disagree regarding purples and brutes first.
I've been farming overseers for a badge in Efficiency Expert Pither's arc "Alone in the Darque" on my bane. Settings were 0/x8/n/n. My bane has 45%+ ranged defense. It would go from plus 45+ to minus 50-100 in 4-6 seconds after being hit by all eyeballs in the spawn. So, purples wouldn't help much with such huge defense debuff. Also I found that killing all eyeballs first worked much better than trying to kill brutes first.
I'd agree that confusing brutes is good idea though, especially if you can get close enough without eyeballs noticing you.
As a side note: eyeballs are ignoring the stealth the same way as rikti drones and KoA.They are the ones that heal... Otherwise, go after the eyeballs first. Their def debuff is insane, but it doesn't last all that long.
The main toon I use to farm Rularuu is an Illusion/Sonic Controller who is very close to perma-PA. Phantom Armies and Confused Brutes lead to Rularuu being very farmable.
The eyes are vulnerable to holds, the Wisps vulnerable to Sleep (I think, mostly, they're frail, so I don't bother mezzing them), the Brutes vulnerable to Confuse, and the Natterlings are vulnerable to Fear. Each is resistant to all other control types (less so for the Natterlings).
Also, Natterlings debuff resistances slightly (I think... Phantom Army, lol), the eyes debuff defense a LOT as discussed earlier, the wisps put a heck of a recharge debuff with their psi attacks, and some controls, and the Brutes as I mentioned before buff the others and pack a hell of a whallop.
Basically, tailor your priorities on them according to their strengths. -
Quote:Had to stop there to laugh, The Rularuu do have entirely too many things that fire from their hindquarters. He saw me through my stealth, turned 180 degrees and launched some kind of spikes at me from his eyeball a**.
Quote:So now I'm running from the hospital and stop to grab some orange insperations. Time for some payback! Zone back in, pop oranges and now I have the upper hand... and then I get placed in a detention field. So I run off to lick my wounds and reset the mish at a lower difficulty. But I have a funny feeling it won't be much easier.
Any information that makes these fights any easier? These guys are insane!
Edit: I should have put this in the player help section... sry about that.
Each type has a very specific weakness, the Brutes are weak to confusion, and mental attacks in general, the Wisps are weak to smashing and lethal, the eyes vulnerable to energy and have kinda low damage, etc etc. (I can't remember all of it) The idea is that an organized team can take down mobs of them quite efficiently, and a poorly coordinated team of the same builds might get crushed. (Ghouls may trump Rularuu for this now, I'm not sure)
Purples will be your friend much more than oranges, and kill the Brutes absolutely first (they are buffers/healers as well as main damage-dealers). If you can toss a Confuse at them, Brutes and Noble Brutes are your bestest pals ever. -
Both Axe and Sands are unaffected by Fury as far as I can tell, and at the times when I actually want to use my vet melee, I want to start out with it, therefore the redraw isn't a big deal and the higher accuracy and faster animation of the Axe is definitely nice.
Also, the Ghost Slaying Axe lets you to be a proper frothing barbarian. -
StratoNexus touched on VEATs, but that's really my recommendation. Not only do you get enough AoE powers to make a completely AoE build (with exception of a tier 1 power) You also get an AoE immobilize that negates Knockback. the latter part is really important when you team, let the Brute (or now, tank) herd everyone up, then drop that wide area web grenade and let everyone go completely crazy with their AoE KBs and/or Rains.

Ah, point... Though that was a long time ago. As I mentioned, this thread seems to have been necro'd just a bit.

Quote:I'm not sure what you're talking about, but War Witch makes maps and things related to maps.I would like you to remove TS, HD and DR from pvp - if we call it the War Witch effect will you do it? Are we seriously supposed to believe in ask a dev no one asked one question about broken pvp but there were several "what's it like to be canadian?"
People didn't ask her about PVP because you don't ask an architect why your car is making a funny noise.
Nice thread necromancy, though. -
I've used the Recessed tech Lights as flooring with mixed success, The top of them is slightly cone shaped, so you don't get the texture flickering that you do with most other stuff.

Quote:Fixed for specificity. Personally, I like the fact that KM is being so heavily underestimated. It insures that it isn't the flavor of the month, like so many new powersets become. It's an irrational preference, I know, but I like not playing a KM in a sea of KMs.I think the devs were testing us when they designed Kinetic Melee.
devs: Alright! Here it is!
some players: WTF! This set is stupid slow!
devs: *looks at animation times* Actually, much of the animations are actually faster with some being basically on par wi-
some players: Nope! Slow! And the damage sux too!
devs: *looks at numbers that coincide with Super Strength* Uhh....
some players: And this Siphon thingy is retarded! Why I gotta use this stupid gimmick to make this set even playable!?!
devs: 'Future Note - these specific Players don't know what the f*** they're talking about...do not listen to them.' -
Quote:Howabout a compromise, Revamp of Talos Island, have Vista Zoning out to Striga Isle instead of the warwall out at sea that just feels utterly pointless.I would much rather something in the middle to late levels get redone since a bunch of new 1-20 content was just added. Something in the DA range would be nice.
I still say the zone that needs revamp the most is Steel Canyon. And I don't just mean it's the worst zone in Paragon, it's aesthetically the worst zone in the entire game.
Yes, DA and Boomtown need to get revitalized, nobody goes there, they need love. I get that. but Steel is a place where everyone goes, it's a place through which a bulk of heroes get funneled. You have the same population flow through Talos, but Talos never felt wrong the way Steel Canyon does.
I dunno, perhaps I just don't get what the original vision for the zone was or something, it just feels wrong. -
I'll toss out that for the completely law abiding hero type, it's not that difficult to just become a sheriff's deputy. Where I live it's almost a given that a martial arts instructor or the owner of a gun store worth their salt has been a deputy at some point for some reason. But then again, there's a town nearby where every homeowner is required to legally own a firearm by city ordinance, so I don't expect that it's the same way in other states.
for that matter, a law-abiding superhero probably wouldn't have a tough time going through full police training. No rule out there saying a cop has to strictly be a mundane citizen. Sure, you don't get quite the choice of snappy heroic outfits, but there's plenty of police uniforms that include masks of some variety. which makes sense considering in some cases an officer has just as much reason as a hero to hide their identity during a bust. -
-
It totally depends on exactly which super power I have. In any case, the answer is fuzzy.
I don't like the law currently in the least. I feel that the government has become a lumbering, clumsy behemoth that punishes the wrong people far too often in the name of politics. This puts me firmly in the "vigilante" category, but not in the normal way. However, I have a very concrete moral code, and don't believe that this moral code should stretch in the slightest for things like vengeance.
Not exactly the same as Captain America during the Civil War arc, but similar (granted, look how well that turned out for him). I strive to be right even when the law is wrong. I feel I'd be too busy fighting the government to even bother with petty criminals.
tl;dr Put me down for Resistance Warden. -
A great heaping pile of my villain characters are definitely more Roguish than Villainous... compared to that, I don't have many Heroes that are... angry enough(?) to turn Vigilante.
I do have several Heroes that are willing to play both sides, I suppose, but more for profit than... I dunno exactly what is supposed to drive the Vigilante faction. -
Redside, I have a twofer. Cap Au Diable and Port Oaks. If anywhere NEEDS Vista Zoning, it's there. Also, Cap Au currently has the only entrance to the Midnighter's Club, right next to a landing point from Ouroboros, and an entry to Vanguard and a Black Market, oh and the lowest level boat on the main Rogue Isles Ferry network... It's a major transit and trade hub. It also has the most "advanced" city area of the Isles with Aeon City, which by the way, needs Gold Target tech in it badly.
For blueside parity, Steel Canyon is the worst example of what feels "wrong" with Paragon City while also being a transit and trade center of the city (not quite as much as Cap, but close). It's currently just has the same copied buildings from the rest of the city, but packed into a relatively claustrophobic space. This needs to change.
I have a vision where the Steel Canyon Zone extend all the way across the river to Indy Port, connecting with it via a Vista Zone Border. It's doable, and not annoyingly large, either. -
Quote:Specifically referring to this part:They've publicly mentioned extending some use of SGs to the opposing factions. They're already saying they want to look at doing something if it won't "break the game." Let's see what they can do.

can heroes and villains be in the same super group?

Positron: Not yet, but we're re-looking at how to make that happen, because we know a lot of you are asking for it. Don't want to break the game to make it happen though

I don't think I'm gonna get that though. -
Quote:I for one find the idea of a Ghost Recluse intriguing.Dear God, if Recluse came back as a ghost like Ghost Widow with a Mag-100 knockback spider-tantrum power, I'd cry.
EDIT: Especially if Prime Earth Arachnos infiltrators are responsible for bringing him back. -
Ecstasy of Gold, Drafted into Arachnos at the age of five, Ended up a hermaphrodite, though they didn't know at the time of drafting and put him/her with the male recruits. Apparently, shenanigans ensued. Completely brainwashed until one day he/she snapped, blew up some bases and went off the grid for years.
Got his/her name working for the Goldbrickers, Recently got a hold of the Malleus Mundi for about twenty seconds while working directly for Scirocco... Further shenanigans.
Now living almost exclusively in the Rikti Warzone. Swiftly moving towards Hero status and bashing enormous quantities of Arachnos at every opportunity.
