I am not much of a suit and tie guy, least not when I have a choice.

Ahhhh, sounds like an interesting invention but I am afraid useless for me. My problem is big shoulders to begin with, I look utterly ridiculous with shoulder pads. It's a pain finding a suit coat without those things though.
