You have no idea about solar power do you. That's OK, not a lot of people really understand it either.

The amount of energy the Sun drops on one square meter of the Earth's surface in an entire bright sunny summer day is equivalent to the energy in a half a litter of gasoline. That's at 100% capture, mass produced solar cells are barely at a 20% conversion rate.

That's sort of why we are stuck on gasoline and other fossil fuels, the energy storage density is considerable.

    Tv.....

So Lie to Me comes back early into Lonestar's time slot. The down side is that the revamped Human Target premiere is being bumped from this Friday at 8 to Wednesday, Nov 17th opposite of Undercovers.

Speaking of Undercovers, where were they hiding the smoking hot Mrs Bloom, Gugu Mbatha-Raw? Obviously not in Hollywood, they would have made her change her name day one. Ah, England, that makes sense. Oh she was on Doctor Who third season for a few episodes as Martha's sister.
  3. Well they didn't want to make him bullet proof. To easy to deus ex, without risk there is no drama. Could also be a plot point for a costume.

Catching bullets also allows his arm to absorb some of the kinetic energy of the round, skull not so much.

True but after some closely supervised testing they will diagnose that he was actually gifted and was simply bored with the current classes. Their bad. Sorry.
  5. Well we'll find out when the episode airs in the states this Friday.
  6. I didn't know he blogged until I checked that link. Neat.

That was Darla!? Wow, didn't recognize her with the business suit and office hair. She didn't have that whinny Darla voice either.

Okay, more special effects than a half a season of Heroes.

Mom has Flash appetite, glad to see they got that right.

The end fight was great with the teleporter.

Nice that the evil mastermind is Mom's boss.
  8. Betting that scene is right after the Steve is transformed and the lab is destroyed. Running around barefeet and skivvies in broad daylight is downright shocking during that period.
  9. What do we have story line wise.

    We have the present.

We have the gap between Sean being kicked off the cruise ship to boarding the plane. I'm pretty sure that gun was left for him in the bathroom.

We have the gap between the arrival of the "Aliens" and the present. Both for those detained and those that escaped. 60+ years is a lot of time they can fill up.

We have flashbacks to how Sean and Leila met and that Agent Lee is one of "them".

I'm guessing that there are at least two factions of escapees with multiple and sometimes conflicting goals. That some of them have wormed there way into industry and finance in the 60+ years and have amassed some amount of power behind the scenes.

We also have no idea if in those 60 years if they breed with stock humans at all or paired up among themselves and had children. Maybe Sean is 2nd generation or a half breed.
  10. Well they normally push a patch the 2nd day after a weekend, because you don't want people recovering from a weekend to do anything major and it allows them to double check everything. Also by pushing a patch then gives them a chance to fix anything that goes horribly wrong before the weekend.

Maintenance the day before the start of the weekend is somewhat obvious since the weekend is peak playing time.

    So, Chuck?

Which it appears she's going back to, by putting Morgan in charge. But since Big Mike is still in the credits I would expect Morgan to go get Big Mike to be manager so Morgan can go back to be "one of the guys".

Yes, I'm sensing the C-plot this season is to track down Mom so she can be with Elle for the birth, like tracking down Dad for the wedding.

Awesome is a terrible liar so Chuck has to lie to him. Elle is the over protective big sister/faux Mom to Chuck and now that she's preggers, Chuck doesn't want to worry her anymore than necessary. Not every spy is Michael Weston.

Anyways lying to loved ones is one of the fundamental cornerstones of situational comedy and face it, Chuck is an Action/Comedy.
  12. Oh great, let's muddle up my SciFi with religious overtones.

Are they angels? Could they be fallen angels? Could they be here to kick the end times?
  13. It's trivial, a small, sometimes flexible, circuit board snaps on the edge connector on top of each video card to wire them together. The motherboard on your wishlist comes with one such connector for nVidia cards. ATI cards have a similar style connector, but incompatible with nVidia, to support Crossfire.

Edit: What would I choose? That's tough for me to say. Reviews like this makes picking a pair of 1GB GTX 460s a no brainer. But there is still a part of me that rebels at the notion of SLi or Crossfire (probably from back in the days when some companies were selling horrible SLi rigs using a pair of low end video cards just so they could use the SLi buzzword).

You already have a huge power supply and a well ventilated case so there isn't a need to upgrade those parts as well. As long as you realize that some games don't word as well in SLi as others and in those cases your performance will be worse than a single HD 5870 (and on the flip side when it does work, your performance will be better) then the choice is yours.

Nice MSI video card, it gets fairly good reviews and does run cooler than GTX 460s that use the stock heatsink design.
  14. Well that was somewhat disappointing. Aliens. Passable human looking aliens.

Okay, maybe there's still a possibility of them being time travelers or from a parallel Earth.

Okay they are virtually immortal, aging very, very slowly. Only the injured from the crash were captured, the healthy ones escaped and are living among us.

Agent Lee is secretly one of them. So at least we know who he was talking to last week when he asked whomever to "do it now".

However now, after 60+ years, those who aren't locked up are finally tired of waiting for their friends and loved ones to be released. However they did blow most of their power porting the plane.

So many weird and interesting things they could have done and we get human looking aliens with extremely long lifespans. That's as boring as metahumans with a single power.

Well lets see if the 2nd episode of Undercovers is as disappointing.
  15. Aw, I thought he was going to do something from the sequel Good Will Hunting II: Hunting Season.
  16. Yea Herc, the HX850 watt PSU could handle two HD 5870s, a pair of 1GB GTX 460s would be a walk in the park for it.
  17. Actually I was expecting a more direct "accidental" demise of the Evo-bunny by the Annie.

In a world where Evo's seem to be shunned, neither of the girls seemed overly freaked by Rex's abilities.

So now Rex has the Annie the Blond Widow and Circe as potential love interests. Besides chasing the Doc Holiday.

Just noticed, Annie was voiced by Felicia Day. Noah's date Claire was voiced by Danica "Winnie" McKellar, which is cute since Noah is voiced by Fred "Kevin" Savage.
  18. Bye dude. Good luck with the lady.

    Hello Lady!
  19. Yea, you should be able to squeak that video card in there but it will be a close fit, less than an inch clearance before the hard drive cage.

Depends on what you define "max" to be. Bill Z Bubba is currently running an ATI 5870 (only the 1GB version) and he still had to compromise on some of the settings to get his framerate up while maintaining his standard for quality visuals. But that was a few driver versions ago.
  20. It's the amount of memory the video card has. Also the 768MB card only has a 192-bit video memory bus Vs 256-bit that the 1GB card has.

This roughly translates into an 8-10% difference in performance. However the 768MB GTX 460 is still nearly 20% faster than the older GTX 260. The 1GB GTX 460 is as fast as the older GTX 280 (not the GTX 285).

Funny, the 800lbs Gorilla isn't single shard. Neither is that new Japanese MMO.
  22. Try using this link to post your wishlist, the link you provided only works for you.

As I said, the i7-9xx series of CPUs are designed to work with memory in groups of three sticks, not two. So 6 or 12 GB instead of 4 or 8GB, that's just the way the i7-9xx CPUs are.

Personally I think the number default case fans are fine (1 Front, 1 Rear, 1 Top).

Yes the Hyper 212 Plus will work with Socket 1366 CPUs. It may not be good for extreme overclocking but it's a good value and significantly drops the temperature when compared to Intel's stock cooler. As for Arctic Silver 5, it's still one of the better thermal paste/grease/compounds on the market.

The Caviar Blue was popular because the Caviar Black drives were initially a lot more expensive, partially because it had such great reviews when it first came out. As hard drive densities increased, the 640GB Black was no longer the drive to get as the 1TB became the preferred size so the price came down. Also, and this is my opinion, SATA III aka 6Gb/s, is a waste with traditional hard drives as sequential performance is barely topping SATA I's 1.5Gb/s transfer rates.

Your motherboard choice already supports either two nVidia (SLi) or two ATI cards (CrossFire). I'm not a fan of multiple video cards simply because on a fix budget, you can get more consistent performance with one high end video card over two lesser video cards that each cost half as much. You don't automatically get twice the performance of a single card, it varies greatly depending on the game, the resolution you play at, etc. Then you toss in the extra power needed and the extra heat that's generated that needs to be removed from the case and I just don't think it's worth the hassle, but hard core gamers do.
  23. Ah yes, live action TV superheroes who aren't Superman. Hulk, Spider-man, Flash. Even Superman in Lois and Clark just shows that you can't really do superheroes the way they are portrayed in the comics on a TV budget.

Heck we can even toss Wonder Women into that list except that WW fans didn't care since they were ogling Lynda Carter.

Biggest misstep in the TV Hulk was the Thor movie. Daredevil worked OK since he really isn't super powerful but what they did with Thor was just embarrassing.
  24. Well I though his comment was considering all the varied geography of the African continent, they decided to show desert.

Answer, it's cheap. Or the forgot to photoshop in the Pyramids. At least there weren't any vuvuzelas, or guys on camels. Now if they have Lois meet Vixen, that'll be fun.
  25. On my max huge character I prefer to to move the camera two mouse wheel clicks back or until I can see his feet.

Now wings is another issue since they extend well about the shoulders so I find myself switch the camera to 1st person when I'm in office halls or other narrow places.
