  1. The photo spread reminds me of German porn, the women are all sexy in their skimpies and the guy is fully dressed.
  2. Vidiotmaps only puts bitmaps into a folder structure that the game was already programmed to look at and if something is there, use it. Vidiotmaps doesn't change any game code or replace any game assets.
  3. I don't think of Brian Blessed or Tim Curry as obscure, just not A or B list. Or maybe just out of action on TV or the big screen. They are primarily character actors.

Curry plays a great comedic villain and Blessed is known for his Black Adder and Flash Gordon roles.
  4. Is it wrong that all I can think of when I look at it is how to turn it into a base for a lamp?
  5. Father Xmas

    Fringe 10/14

I think you can see that strip appeared to have a circuitry pattern on it so I also assume it simply did a wipe of all memory while causing him to bleed out.
  6. She did mention in the Brit/Brit episode that her father is a Doctor so she seems quite well off (she also got breast enhancements over the summer). It may have more to do with the strict diet she follows to maintain her weight. Bread is supposedly very fattening so maybe her attraction to it is that it's forbidden fruit.
  7. Well Mummy 1 and 2 made a ton of money. Brenden Frasier's Journey was a gimmick 3D kids/tween flick. Still it made $100 million.

This one sounds more like a two generation action/romance flick with the possible addition of Disney sexting High School Musical lass Vanessa Hudgens to be opposite of Josh Hutchenson's Sam.
  8. I like Olive Garden too, as an adult. I can't remember ever seeing high school students on a date there. Denny's sure.

Actually for me my perception is probably a generational thing. When I was in high school (late 70s) there simply weren't many national chain restaurants where I grew up. We had a regional New England chain, Friendly's, which was known for their ice cream so it was a good place to take a date post movie and I think there was a Pizza Hut two towns over. Everything else were locally owned sit-down restaurants, mostly Italian with a couple Asian and I think one steak house. This was suburbia BTW, not the middle of nowhere where I currently live.
  9. Oh, I forgot to mention one of the show's writers and executive producers is Paul Dini.

    Yes, that Paul Dini.
  10. Even though I'm annoyed that CN has a number of "live action" programs instead of being just animation, I watched the sneak premier of Tower Prep, which ran after their homemade, live action Scooby Doo movie.

The regular premier is Tuesday at 8p with additional showings during the week.

It's sort of a mix of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters with The Prisoner.

Premise, main character Ian gets suspended for fighting from school, again, for defending a friend. While playing an MMO online he is rendered unconscious by a strange tone coming over the headset and wakes up in a boarding school.

All the adults are only referred to by their title or subject taught, no names (Math, Science, History, Coach, Headmaster). None of the students know where in the world they are. The forested school grounds is surrounded by a tall, humming wall on three sides and cliffs overlooking the ocean on the fourth. There are "things" in the woods at night to encourage the students to stay within the campus.

The school's stated purpose is to unlock the unique potential in each student. And it appears each student have a talent. Ian's ability is to "see" what is about to happen and react to it, which is why he's good at fighting. He quickly befriends three others, each with their own ability. Nothing that's a super power, yet. Their mutual goal is to escape and go home.

I found it interesting, you may want to set your DVRs to catch it as well.

Probably. Rocky Horror is generally thought of as a cult film that became successful because of the interaction from the audience. You either seen it multiple times and loved it, seen it once and hated it or your a virgin.

While VH-1 did do a 25th anniversary special 10 years ago with some of the original cast along with actors like Anthony Head (who once played Frank in the stage production) singing the various songs from it,it never appeared to my knowledge on any of the movie networks or other cable channels ever. Except for preceding or following the special. Well it may have been on once or twice since.

I think it's because it needs to be experienced in person with full audience interaction to really enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, I think the music is great and you can analyze the clever use of classic science fiction tropes to illustrate what conservative social culture considered to be "evil". But playing the movie straight with none of the meta experience just makes it an odd, "bad" movie musical.
  12. Just watched this today. I really felt sad for Brittany.

Sam and Quinn make a cute couple. I think Sam is a closet geek/nerd.

I wish I could remember a time when a gift certificate for two at a chain restaurant would make me that excited in high school. Yea it's a step up from fast food but really now.
  13. Jackass will be a flash in the pan. Big first weekend, big drop for second. Red may have some legs if it isn't overshadowed by another film in the next few weeks. However we are going up on the holiday season with a number of big pictures coming out before Thanksgiving in the US.
  14. Well it's was popular throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s here in the states. At least around where I lived. Really big with the college and post college crowd. However I only see Rocky Horror playing around Halloween lately as oppose to midnight every Friday and Saturday.

I think there was a special for the 25th anniversary of it on one of our cable music TV channels, VH-1 I think. But since then, nothing on standard TV here.

Manimal appeared as a guest star in Night Man, which was on in syndication about 10 years after Manimal.
  16. Mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot passed away on the 14th.

Lets go on a trip or two into his world.
  17. No public high school would ever put on Rocky Horror just as none would do a serious subject musical like Rent. Too "adult" for the kiddies. An arts magnet school maybe but for normal public schools, the powers that run it are as narrow minded and budget driven as Figgins on Glee.

Also standards and practices at Fox simply wouldn't allow some of the songs unedited. So we get the Rocky Horror equivalent to the NA aired version of DBZ Kai with the turning halos into glowing dots and whatever euphemism they are using for dead.

The movie version is still rated R in the US and it's not just because of the nipple slip during the floor show.
  18. Father Xmas

    Brick Frog!

    Still prefer Bear with Knife.
  19. Well the only "regular" character they killed off was Ashley. Invisa girl was in like two or three episodes along with Watson so they weren't really regulars.

For me it's odd to see Calum Blue not as a reaper (Dead Like Me). Also I didn't the recognize lizard guy for the last three episodes without his faux Scottish accent as Carson from SG: Atlantis. Just remember, if you are an actor in Vancouver with any experience with any other science fiction or fantasy series, there will always be work. Like Henry in Sanctuary popping up in Caprica (he also had a reoccurring role in BSG).
  20. I find it unusual for SyFy to not have a rerun of this two hours later. Yes they are showing the first 3 episodes of The Event in the hopes to attract those who like science fiction (since SyFy is part of NBC it's not a surprise) but even next week's Sanctuary doesn't have a 2nd showing. Strikes me that the network doesn't really support the show.

Oh and I just found out that the "Big Guy" aka Bigfoot is played by the same actor who plays John "Jack the Ripper" Druitt on the show.
  21. Star of Manimal, Simon MacCorkindale died after a 4 1/2 year battle with cancer.

I remember watching this in college.
  22. Great! Didn't bother to watch it because it sounded like a clip episode with even less happening than either of the first couple of episodes this season.

Just going to have to add it to my list of episodes to catch online.
