Sorry...I started w/ the Defenders since they were in the lead...I'll focus on the Corrs...grrrrrr! STAB! STABBY STAB STAB!

Quote:Lucky also grants 1/3rd of your passive scaling dam-res. If you're going to drop a power from SR, it should be elude and That should only happen after you've got the IOs in place to soft-cap your defense.
If we could take physical perfection without having to take conserve power or focused accuracy, I'd be all over it.
Since I currently have conserve power as a replacement for elude, I'd like to fit PhysPerf in, but have no clue what I could possibly drop.
While LBE does fit your theme, be aware that it does cause tou to redraw claws. Not a big deal if you're just using it for runners, very much a big deal if you were planning to use it as part of your attack chain.
You would probably be better off sticking a stealth IO in a movement power rather than taking the power Stealth. Remember that half of Stealth's defense goes away in combat. You can soft cap in other ways.
I was already dropping Elude. I was aksing about the remaining 8 powers.
Ya, I'd never try to use LBE as part of a chain...just an opener at distance for fun and for runners.
I had forgotten about Stealth's def being cut in half during combat...thank you for the reminder.
Man, I have no clue how to make this build work the way I want to! lol The Stealth IO will help save a power pic so that's a start at least... -
Quote:I'm going to have to drop one power for my Predator concept/tribute build (to make room for Stealth) and I'm down to either Eviscerate or Lucky. I'm thinking Lucky because I should be able to make up for the loss of it's 5.63 AOE def with some IO set slotting. On the one hand, I hate eviscerate because the animation is long and looks stupid.
On the other hand, it does very nice damage, has a 15% chance to crit all the time, and can be used in conjunction with spin to decimate spawns in short order.
As I'll be using my main to run scanner missions in PI set at +4/x8 as soon as I-16 goes live, I kinda wish I had room for eviscerate. As it is, I just don't.
Luckily, +4s only get knocked down with shockwave instead of knocked back.
And for the record, ALL new claws users I build take swipe, strike, slash, spin and followup. It's not til later that I respec out of strike or swipe.
Any opinions? Would I better off dropping something else out of the first 8 powers from SR?
I'm also wondering if I'm going to need Physical Perfection for this toon. I'll be 4 slotting Stamina with Perf Shifters (using the Proc of course) and I know that Claws end requirements are not all that hefty. Does this sound about right for what I'm wanting to do?
If I don't "need" Physical Perfection then I'll either go ahead and get Lucky or I'll get LBE since I've never had it before and it kinda goes with the theme...too bad it can't be shoulder mounted)
BTW, i was just going to use a Stealth IO so I didn't have to "waste" a selection on Stealth but then I realized that I'm almost at the soft cap right now because of the plus to melee def that Stealth provides. I think I'm around 42% for melee def right now with just standard IO's. -
Quote:Keep this in mind, though:
Being sexy may very well be more important to your survival than a few DPS. Strike is an ugly power with an ugly pause on the end of it. Swipe is pure and smooth and glorious.
Strike really is an ugly power. It seems that there are some fairly good arguments concerning the Strike vs. Swipe at lvl 1 debate...ARGH! However, it seems that most of the builds I see on here start with Strike so, I guess I'll stick with it since I already have it and all.
What are your thoughts on Eviscerate?
Keep in mind that I'll probably never be soloing AV's or anything like that. I'm mainly a team player that does some solo PVE here and there. -
-
I could've sworn I saw a thread recently where people were saying that Swipe leads to better DPS than Strike since it has a quicker recharge. Is that not the case?
I'm working on my Claws/SR build and trying to figure out which one of the two to take and which attacks I can drop. It's a concept build and I'm using Stealth to get to the soft cap quicker and to fit the concept. I've posted about this build before...it's my Predator inspired build.
I've seen a few people say that Eviscerate and Shockwave are not worth taking but they sure seem like they would be a big help to me...opinions? Gotta admit that the animation and activation time for Eviscerate is really annoying though... -
I'm probably alone in this but I'm going MA because of the end costs. Sure, MA excels at ST attacks and Elec Armor works better in a group but...I don't know...it just seems like it could be fun.
I'd like to try Katana with Elec Armor but I already have a Kat/WP and a Kat/Regen...I'll probably do it anyways.
Spines seems like it could rock for sure. -
Quote:Ya, I was wondering if I should frankenslot VS. I was also thinking of removing a slot or two from Power Slice. In the original build that Nihilii did for me, Power Slice was only 4 slotted.I see nothing glaringly wrong with it. I would add a second slot to practiced brawler so as to make it perma. The passives really only need two slots, the amount of extra defense you get from that third slot is meager at best. But since you only had to fully slot up 5 from your primary I guess you had plenty extra slots to throw around. The only other thing I see that you could play with is the full set of makos in Vengeful. You don't need the full set bonus as you are well over the cap, and you might get better mileage by frankenslotting it, maybe a useful proc or something. And I always like a jump or Zephyr or two in my travel powers...just because.
I'm hoping the end consumption and recovery will work out well. I'm tempted to wait for I16 and get Physical Perfection but then I would have to give up FA with it's full compliment of GSFC's. I think I should be ok since I skipped a comple of primary attacks... -
This is the current DB/SR build that I'm working towards. This is a conept build so that's why there are some weird power and slotting choices. Kinda going for a Jedi theme which is why ET is there and slotted the way it is.
Nihilii helped me with the original build and I've only slightly tweaked it...thanks again Nihilii!
I just wanted to see if the changes that I've made are at all problematic.
Thank you!

Great info! Thank you very much! I'm going to work on my build tonight.
Much appreciation -
Quote:By personal experience, a willpower scrapper can tank pretty dang well, and the set is generally regarded as one of the best, if not the best, for defense.
I second that. I've been really amazed by what I've been able to withstand playing my lvl 50 DB/WP and lvl 50 Kat/WP. -
This is my first pass at a generic lvling build for MA/SD. I haven't played around with shields before and I wanted to get some input.
Thanks.

I'm only starting this thread because I'm at work and I want to be able to get to the build when I get home. For some reason, I can't save the build on my computer here...no clue why...
Comments are still welcome if you're just really bored though)
It's a concept build so that's why there are some strange choices.

I'm only starting this thread because I'm at work and I want to be able to get to the build when I get home. For some reason, I can't save the build on my computer here...no clue why...
Comments are still welcome if you're just really bored though)
It's a concept build so that's why there are some strange choices.

Quote:I love it.Just as we have scrapper guides and power discussions it would be neat to have a thread of compiled builds by the different Scrapper gurus. Bill, Werner, Umbral to name a few.
It would be a good goto resource to see how the more experienced players choose slots and stuff.
I have recently started learning about IO set slotting and I often comb through the forum looking for builds to contrast and compare. I have often wished that we had one place to post sample builds.
I would think that it would be a great tool for most and it would save a lot of time for the "different Scrapper gurus" since they wouldn't have to post the same builds over and over again in response to similar questions from various players.
Would it be one huge thread or is there a way that we could effectively break it down somehow? I just think we could potentially end up with a lot of builds...just a thought. -
Agreed.
I have an E3 blaster (Elec/Elec/Elec), and Power Sink just rocks...I never worry about end on that toon and I'm hoping that Power Sink on a MA toon will be just as great. -
Has anyone messed around with a Martial Arts/Electric Armor build yet? I'm alway so frustrated by end consumption on my main MA toon and it seems that this could be a good solution to that problem...
Anyone? -
HOLY CRAP! For some magical reason, I was able to get his on my compuer at work! I wasn't able to do that with the orignial MID's...
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I'm so happy)

Quote:You're not weird/wrong at all...well, I guess we're all a little weird...Maybe I'm wierd/wrong, but I use the Sweep combo for the AoE. 1kCuts is big by meelee cone standards, and does nice damage*. The 50% added damage on Typhoon's Edge turns it into the second most damaging PbAoE Scrappers get. The KD is nice, but I tend to see the AoE damage as the main point.
*Yeah, crappy activation time, I know. OTOH, it's nice and big, and has a 10 target cap, if CoH isn't lying to me.
A lot of people say that the damage output isn't worth it but I disagree. While I do enjoy the mitigation of the sweep combo first and foremost, the damage output just makes me that much happier. Sure it's not as great as the AV combo but put both of them together in the middle of an angry mob and hey...no more angry mob...muahaha! -
Quote:I use it a lot! I didn't even know who it was run by or anything but I've always greatly enjoyed it.Haha, thanks! I'm kind of surprised by the support I've received since coming back. I kind of figured people would have abandoned the old Planner ages ago. It's what, 7 issues behind?
I had always wondered why it was called "SuckerPunch" lol
Now I know...hehe
I think there are many of us that are glad you've returned and are really looking forward to seeing it updated. -
Quote:Yikes! That's exactly what I've been worried about. I've seen a bunch of lvl 50 MA/SD's running around lately but they're always IO's out pretty heavily and I just don't have that kind of inf.I am trying out a MA/SD scrapper right now started last night. So far he is only lvl 7 but i am staring at his Blue bar at it scares me on how much end he eats up. I can see that upper lvls are gonna be a endurance heavy. Hopefully when i get Stamina it'll be ok.
Hopefully, between Stamina and the new Physical Perfection, it will be a bit easier to manage. -
Stick with the DB/WP...you'll be glad you did! Although, some people do find it boring since /WP is a "set it and forget it" secondary. But, it still rocks! I have 3 Lvl 50's and they're all /WP. ...I think I have a problem...heh
DB/Regen is frustrating because of all the redraw from using your clicky powers from Regen. This really puts a damper on your combos and dps from DB.
DB/SR, as you've already heard, is an extremely tight build. I'm wrestling with one right now but I can't give any good advice on it because mine is based on concept. I'm attempting to rely on the BF - AV - Power Slice chain with some Energy Torrent thrown in for fun...we'll see how it works out. -
I really, really want to make a /SD toon but I have no clue what primary to put with it! For some reason, I hate the BS animations...they just bother me.
I'm thinking either DM or MA with a heavy leaning towards DM. I' m guessing that the end consumption between MA and SD would be somewhat difficult to manage w/out a ton of inf.
Doesn't DM have some sort of end recovery power? Or am I thinking of DA?
