If you want Tough/Weave from Fighting, then sure, it has the benefits that are described above.

My Inv/SS tank does not have the fighting pool, and does very well. In general, you'll be tough enough against Smash/Lethal to survive without it, although Weave undeniably helps defense wise.

Now that I have tier 3 Destiny:Barrier though, I doubt I would bother to run Fighting:Tough or Fighting:Weave if I had them.

Hold on to it and see.
While we're on the topic of not knowing, anyone want to suggest what the 5 remaining Incarnate abilities will do?

So far, we've gotten generous global enhancements, a ranged attack, pets, ally buffs, and enemy debuffs.

What are we missing that might work for Hybrid, Vitae, Mind, ...the one I can't remember... , and Omega?

A melee attack? Controls? Some kind of whacky (yet awesome) travel power? A domination-like power?

Just curious what people might think?

Anyway, gratz on having all the Incarnate abilities you want, hold on to the loot...

I can't find this information anywhere. Everything I've read has stated that only Shards can be used to create Alpha components (Hero 1 DNA, etc.)

Please let me know if this is incorrect or outdated information. I stepped away from the game for 4 months and when I came back, there was a TON of new systems/currencies/items/etc. I'm very confused.
Fire up the game, click on powers, click on incarnate abilities, click on Create, click on Alpha, click on the alpha flavor (cardiac, musc, etc.) click on any of the abilities in the tree, and scroll down the recipe list on how to craft it, and you will find the bottom one (or ones, in the case of tier 4) will contain non-shard components, but thread-craftable components.

On a related note, how difficult would it be to have the animations be from weapons, like for example some of Life Mage animations, or the Nemesis staff. Is this doable and would the player base support something like this?
Well, I know that we'd support it, but it's Extremely Difficult for the devs to implement. We are getting some of that, slowly. We used to not be able to change colors, for example. Nowadays, some powersets allow for alternate animations. It's still very limited.

I for one would love the weapon based powers you are describing, but I think that something like that would be implemented well after the Soon timeframe (as in, probably never.)

The devs just told me that it'll be going on all day. Because they can predict the future.

Tuesday is maintenance update time. Sometimes it takes longer. Sometimes they have to fix stuff. It is unfortunate that it coincides with your available time to play.

And not for nothing but I'm really starting to hate this game I can't even play with any regularity, what the dev's say is NOT dependable or they don't say anything at all, and now as someone having several lvl 50s the only thing to do is incarnate trials because that's what everyone else is doing... either that or fly solo peppered with the occasional raid.
If you don't want to do the trials, I recommend you do something else. That is, when the devs realize that they haven't turned on the game. (If that is the case. More than likely, they are trying to get things up as soon as they can.)

Since I20 came out, I've run enough trials to unlock and slot tier 1s, and since then I've played my 50 (the one I'm grooming up the incarnate path) the way I usually do, exemping down for sewer runs (because they are fun), hero tip missions where I invite lowbies along (because they are fun), through some of my AE arcs (because I find them fun), fly to the Storm Palace and beat up on Rularuu mobs a bit (because with Incarnate power, its very fun.)

If you log on and everyone is doing the trials, and you don't want to, don't. Do something that is fun. If you want to do it with other people, then advertise what you are doing, and see who wants to come along. If that's not working, I understand your frustration, I just don't share it.

You realize that no matter when they do it, its night somewhere? So, I submit that they are doing it at night.

    Not necessarily.

My Super Reflexes scrapper specifically took Nerve to boost defenses. Since the closer you are to the cap, the more the lower % point is worth, even marginal gains were great.

The nice thing about the Incarnate powers, you're not locked in. You can always build up a secondary build, and see what works best for the situation.

I have a scrapper who likes to take on foes one on one. It's fun for him to teleport to a secure location, pull a foe up and gank him, then repeat.

Then teleport to the high ranking enemy and engage him solo.

Sappers, Sky Raider Engineers, etc. are handled easily.

You know the Cimeroran fortress that Romulus hangs out in during the ITF finale? The front end of that was used in the Daedalus finale, filled with Malta. I'd hang out under the bridges and teleport Malta to me to thin the herds.

Even if Teleport Foe is not attractive as a power, it doesn't have the negative impact for a team the way, oh Group Fly does. A teammate who wants to try to teleport a foe is not that big a deal. A teammate wanting to leave Group Fly on is griefing.

Are you angry at the police scanner too? It always gives out missions. (If you are in a level-appropriate zone.)

The active contact tab always shows contacts who could give you a mission. Once you've been introduced to Marcus Valerius, he is always available to give you a Cimerora mission. That's not a bad thing.

My first character ran out of contacts who were offering missions, more than once. That's a lot worse than having someone that can provide content, should you wish it.

Like fighting Rikti, earning Vanguard Merits, and earning mission completion xp? Then Borea will be your go to gal.

Like filling up your inspiration tray with tier-2 inspirations, whenever you want? Repeatable Kora fruit missions in the Shadow Shard.

You might not think there is a point to having missions of different types available whenever you want, your mileage is varying than mine.

    Incarnet Slot

When you open up the Incarnate tab via Powers, there is a slot for your Alpha Boost.

You have to craft the Alpha boost, by collecting shards and components. The Incarnate powers window will let you Convert shards to components, to Craft a boost, and to Equip one of your crafted boosts into that slot.

If you have crafted a boost, click on your empty alpha slot, and any boosts you have crafted will appear on the right, if you right click a boost, you will be able to equip it.

I hope that helps, your post was unclear in what you were asking.
  11. You should stick to using friendly binds to ask solo players who are blue.

I wouldn't even try to talk to someone listed as unavailable for teaming.

If you are persistent, you should be able to hook up with people who like duoing too, and you can set up future teamings.

I had a similar problem. I was trying to update my credit card info and it was not passing the risk assessment criteria. I interacted with Customer Support, it took a few rounds of interacting, but eventually things worked out.

I get nostalgic whenever I see a new player post. I remember (bones creaking, mumbling, old man story coming on) the good old days with my first characters, and how just getting into Kings Row was a big adventure. The excitement of climbing up the big buildings in the east side (the ones with the central atriums) and getting to the top, to find the Clockwork nests that then shocked the hell out of me, all the way back down Thud!

    Ah, good times.

Bases: Has anything changed here since they lowered the costs oh-so many issues back? I've been on my new guy and thus not joined my Supergroup. Will he be able to join a Villain SG as a Vigilante?
Not much has been added since the price drop. People have developed many techniques for stacking base objects, creating fantastic looking bases, using objects for walls, free-floating objects. I made an analog to Batman's giant penny using two CoT eyeball windows, back to back. Check out the base threads. We're always hoping new tools or objects or textures will come, no action so far.

I don't think you Vigilante can join a Villain SG (my Rogue couldn't join my hero SG). I haven't tried taking a Villain in a Villain SG to Rogue, then hero, then Vigilante. I know there are patch notes about SG members becoming the opposite alignment, I don't think they are kicked out, but there is a loss of access to the base.

    Welcome to the game!

I'm not sure if the Praetorian dimension is host to Architect Entertainment, at least it wasn't when Going Rogue came out a few months ago.

I'd recommend having your Praetorian character run regular in-game content.

Has your scrapper spent time logged out in the Vanguard base in the RWZ? If so, you have a day job credit that grants Vanguard merits on any mission completion.

It used to be so much worse. Back in ye olde days, base costs ran about ten times as much as now, and base rent was perceptually a serious chunk.

Rent, or base upkeep, is extremely small now.

I'd be happy if the conversion was changed a bit, but I do admit to once converting 500 million influence into 1 million prestige.

    Thumbs up.

I have a few SGs that I run (I like multiple ones, so they can be different thematically), and over the years I've only recruited after teaming with someone several times. Usually people are already in an SG and the usual result of frequent teaming is when they make an alt, they make an alt that will fit in with one of my SGs.

If I see someone who is not affiliated with an SG, and their look, or name, or backstory "feels" right for one of my SGs, I might chat them up for teaming. Teaming should come first.

I think only the Great Lakes Avengers ever did a big public recruiting drive in the comics.

If there is less SG broadcast spam now, then I'm glad.

Why are you punishing yourself for wanting a base? The devs certainly aren't punishing you.

You have the option to form an SG, and you have the option to create a base.

Base building takes work and time, but the current prices are roughly 10% of what they used to be when I built my small SG/batman-esque type batcave. (Avenging Aggrobats on Virtue. I'm particularly proud of the giant penny homage in the Aggrobatcave.)

Anyway, if you want a small SG so you can have a large amount of say in the construction of the base, accept the fact that either your base will be modest, or expect to put in a lot of work earning the prestige. If you want to be part of a large group with some kind of uber base, then you might want to join a larger one whose playstyle, rules, and requirements are aligned with your tendencies.

I agree that I am looking forward to new visual aspects and items for bases, but I'm not overly distressed about the prices of functional items. Again, it was once way worse.

Besides, how hard is it to create a functional Batman-esque batcave?

The classical batcave did not feature a medical teleporter, or a teleporter of any kind. If you must have a telepad, one with two beacons, say to Kings Row and Brickstown would hook you up with Gotham City-like areas, one conveniently next to the Yellow Line, one not far from the Green Line.

If you must have medical, the baseline minimum should be enough.

Create a room to decorate (I usually go for a workshop) put in some tech decorations for the batcomputer, turn down the lights, make the walls dark with a texture that isn't too wrong, and you're 89% of the way there.

Then make a giant "penny" by stacking two CoT eyeball windows back to back.

    best regards

Hey, and this is no doubt further down the road... in Peregrine Island there is access to a place I'll refer to as Firebase Zulu. It's really meant for high end characters to explore, but you can get a jet pack there and see some amazing sights. It's a freaking dangerous place though, but cool to explore.

I'm purposely being vague, since you might want to experience things are freshly as possible.

If you are heroside, go see Monatague Castalanetta (or something like that...), you'll find him in the University in Steel Canyon. He'll offer you a fun set of missions, and at the end you'll have a handful of badges and access to the Midnighter Club, which at level 35 will provide access to Cimerora.

    FF -> Pocket D -> KR -> Galaxy.

Since Pocket D is right next to the transit in KR, your travel time depends largely on how close your are to Pocket D in Founders, and if you have big delays when zoning.

I know it seems bad, especially if you are used to the relatively quick travel in CoV, but I (cue crotchety old man music in background) remember when there was no base teleport, and no green line in Founders Falls, you had to exit FF and use the train in Talos. Angus McRikti in Founders might give you a Rikti Crash Site mission in Founders. You'd have to exit Founders into Talos, use the train in Talos to head to Brickstown, head on foot to Crey's Folly, cross the full length of Crey's Folly, enter the RCS, defeat X Rikti/whatever, retrace back to Angus in FF (since you wouldn't yet have his phone number) and get another RCS mission.

Not saying you are wrong to complain, but being a tourist in Paragon City is less than being a citizen.

Usually whenever I enter a new map for the first time, I always zip around until all the black is gone. I hear tales of a "Cimmaroen wall" (excuse spelling idk),
When you get to the right level, you can complete the Midnighter's Arc which will give you access (once you hit level 35) to the land of Cimerora. I won't give any more details, other than to say that my level 50s occasionally enjoy clearing the wall that you mentioned.

Your information is basically correct, although to be clear, that was the Chantry, not the Storm Palace.

For entry into the Chantry, you need to fly/geyser to it and circle around the equator of the structure until you find either tunnel leading in to a glowing point of light. The light will port you into the Chantry.

As Jacktar said, the clues are not obvious. Defeat everything inside.
