  1. Well it's pretty hard to be bad at PvE, it's not like the mobs do the unexpected, you just need a good grasp fo th ebasics of playing and teamwork, and if you're good at PvP you should have plenty of both.

However I could see some people who solo in PvP being bad in teams, just due to lack of knowledge, or a selfish playstyle.

    Armed Pets, Bug?

The red ones cause damage, and so they try attack it, but it's not attackable. Just psam follow till they forget about it is all you can do really.
  3. That's just numbers in zones. 6 Villians will beat 3 heros and vice versa pretty much regardless of spec (unless it's an Emp Blaster combo ;_. It's not an indication of balance at all.
  4. [ QUOTE ]

Does this mean you think villains are less powerful than heroes?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Come on, every top PvP team in the US is Hero, in fact show me a succesful team on the EU/US servers that is a majority of Villian AT's.

The only things people want is Thermals, and then they're just a compliment to Empaths with thier Res shields, not even as good when it comes to other buffs or heals.

People who still say Villians are fine are a bit bewildering really o.o
  5. Hey more people play Heros, guess we should stop Villian side content right?

I mean CoV was introduced later, some people don't liek it and some haven't tried it and if the Villian AT's were brought up to power of the heros then maybe more would play it and we'd all be happy.

Same argument really it seems. Also couldn't this be argued to stop nearly any changes? Don't fix (AT/power set)! The majority don't play (AT/Power set) so it doesn't need changes! More people play Male characters, don't introduce new costumes for female charcters!
  6. Isn't it obvious there'll be more people in pvE than PvP zones?

I mean until they introduce free respecs, PvP Hami-os, PvP patron arcs and the ability to level to 50 without ever entering a PvE zone i'm kinda forced to go there if I want to level or upgrade at some point.

Players in PvP missions don't really count, it's still just PvE. I love PvP, my whole SG does and most of the coalition, in fact I rarely meet someone who despises it, but I guess that's because I walk in different circles to the non-pvp'ers.

In fact i'm kinda annoyed at how spiteful people seem t obe towards PvP, if you've no interest don't drop by, bash the thread and say you don't want changes as it doesn't interest you.

I couldn't care less if RP pr PvE was changed or not, but i'm not going to go out of my way to ruin thier chances of getting something.
  7. Rad/Psi controller is an abosuletly digustingly powerful thing to play solo.

Ill/Emp controller is a very popular healer due to GI not suppresing on heals (This may be fixed someday, since it is meant too..)

Thugs aren't squshie! Slot enforcers for defence! Then you'll see thug power!

    [/ QUOTE ]

They're squishy in comparison to the nails that are Mercs
  9. Aid Self is far and away better than health for keeping yourself alive. And since you'll also want Aid other for your pets and teammates it's a good progression. 6 slot em both 3 health 2 int red and 1 recharge. Mmm!

Unless your getting leadership or using a lot of your blasts you can actually skip Stamina, as TA is a very end friendly set. If you do get Stamina, grab health, but don't bother slotting it unless you got "spare" slots to place.
  10. Just flash arrow won't aggro. Hmm well I played TA a bit so here's my impressions.

Entangling Arrow, you gotta take it, but eh it's alright enough so this shouldn't be a problem. Just use it to keep things still, or drop fliers.

Flash arrow. Not really a fan, the -acc is tiny and the -perception isn't really that useful in PvE. For PvP I love it (As do stalkers once told what it does ) but for PvE i't totally skippable if you want too.

If you're going without pets you'll want acid arrow as soon as possible, it'll really boost your damage and it's a small Aoe effect so you can pick off two weakened mobs without it before reapplying usually, I didn't think that much of it till checking what the difference the damage output was, needless to say it's nearly always the second arrow I fire after a control now O.o . Get it soon as you can!

You'll love glue arrow too, the slow it gives is just insane! One of the harshest i've seen, will make kiting even easier if you hit all the spawn but a few, and the -recharge on thier attacks means after thier initial attack cycle the incoming damage for you is greatly reduced, did I mention it never misses? Because it doesn't. It lasts ages too.

Sleep arrow is a bout a 50% chance to sleep the people in it's AoE, but as a bonus the arrow itself will never miss so it's great for reducing the alpha mobs put out, also comes with a nasty reduction on thier damage (30% if I remember right) which is going to further increase your surviablity.

Disruption arrow isn't really a petless MM power as it requires the enemy to stay still and really you should be kiting them! Once you get pets, or if you plan to team it's a great compliment to Acid arrow.

Oil slick arrow just kicks [censored], while you sighed at your taser you'll soon take it back when you realise pretty much the only way you've got to ignite the damn thing is to use the afore-mentioned taser. Coupled with glue arrow this makes spawns go dead. There's a bug where pets won't enter ignited oil patches on your side, but since you petless that's not really a problem. When you do pick up pets remember it, especially if you have melee heavy set like ninjas or zombies, it's really annoying!

Emp arrow is the final arrow, and yep it's killer a huge lengthy AoE hold and Endurance drain with some -regen tacked on too. Sure the recharge is long, but this thing is a free kill on a spawn when up, or one of the best panic buttons in the game for when things get nasty.

I quite like TA and it's certainly a rare thing to see (Unlike dark >.> ), can't wait to play mine more! Right now I got too much of a thing for /poison, but I will go back to my TA sometime!

    Hope all that helped!
  11. Mercs have some crowd control and at 32 plenty of cone damage. They're much, much tougher than the other pets (Smashing/Lethal resist of around 30% on all your pets, yum!) and I really notice it as they tend to survive far better than my other MM's under heavy fire. The Medic can prop up FF lack of healing, but don't expect much. Choose Mercs if you want to make the already tough FF even tougher, but the damage will be fairly low.

Thugs have a bunch more damage, but they're a bit squishier than Mercs. The Tier 3 Bruiser pet is a melee damage machine, although a bit difficult to manage as you need to tell him to move about to bring him to bear. With Thugs you get your own tank, as the bruiser is just that nails, and they got some nice AoE although the Arsonist while die a lot. They're a great choice for damage without the need to worry about melee much.

Ninjas are the highest damage of the three, but they're also the squishiest, FF can cover some of this due to it's defensive nature but still expect to see the poor genins to faceplant a good bit, all but the Oni does the most damage in melee and this can be annoying but get them in there and damn do they rip things up. The Oni brings a bunch of control to your character, and smokeflash let's you really turn on the damage with him if you take it.

So if you want to be the toughest of the tough and some extra control, but putting out fairly low damage numbers go Mercs.

Want to have good damage, and be less squishy than ninjas but lacking the controls go thugs.

And if you want high damage and control, but fairly squishy minions go Ninjas.

's what I like about MM's all the pets have thier own styles!
  12. Go with Forcefield i'd say, Traps is fun, but it kidna relies on them coming to you so unless they're a scrapper, blapper or tank (Or silly enough to get TP'd) then you're pretty much out of luck

Forcefield however has some real gems in it, and a Cage too which while hated for PvE is an absolute godsend for PvP. After caging a Blaster about to nuke your pets you'll agree, trust me
  13. Glue arrow is probably the gem of the Arrow set, but if you've got no pets you'll need the attack. Hmm...

    Flip a coin!
  14. Actually most guides will have no attack builds, despite how nice it is to have an attack, they simply don't scale very well and it's often best to drop them at higher levels and load up on Power Pools or extra secondaries. Lots of thugs seem to take pistol attacks because the "look cool" but they also, sadly, suck with double pistols being the only possible choice for taking if you really, really , REALLY have to get an attack. Mostly they just suck time and end that could have been better spent elsewhere.

None of my Masterminds have a personal attack and I don't really feel the need to get one!
  15. Found it off tests done on the US servers, I can't think of a debuff that does stack but I won't rule it out. I just know that bar the -regen poison debuffs don't stack with themselves, it'd be insane if they did!(So spread that love around ^^)

Noxious gas and evenom do overlap though on the -def and -res, and god I love it when I can get both on something, they drop like rocks
  16. The -regen on Evenom stacks, but that's the only bit of the two that does. (It's worth it, two applications is -100% regen >.&gt

They're sick enough as is though!

    PvP Night.

Well it's monday, so it's that time again! I'm level 40 this time round, so still out there representing a free kill (Although debatebly all villians are ^^ )

    I was hoping for 41 so i'd get my -fly/jump nades >.<

    PvP Night.

That's why I love being an MM, you can throw all sorts of nasty effects at me, but on th whole you've not really lowered my damage one bit! (Rad debuffs require some rather careful standing though O.o)

I agree with this to a certain extent. I stopped playing my emp last night because he is only 42 and so prioty target for the opposition. I spent the whole night running unable to buff the team (I know that's the point, but were not supposed to be playing that competitively, and it puts newer people off).

When I'm calling targets for a team I never call the same target twice in quick succession and make a point of going after the harder to kill members of the opposition too (tanks/scrappers/brutes).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah but that's the problem with Empaths, if you don't go for them your not killing anybody! Although I am sometimes nice and throw my -heal debuff on them but don't focus fire them down, and it's not because i'm cowardly hiding in BG, nope! >.>

I'd veto the cage for this kind of thing too, it's a bit of a broken mechanic and no one enjoys spending the entire match unable to do anything.

    PvP Night.

Had great fun on Toxic. Gonna gun for 50 and stop alting after the horrible smackdown some people dealt me!

Oh I will have my revenge.... >
  21. While you can cast them on other pets it will only work on ninjas. However you can feed pets like Shivians insps and they'll work.

Shame really, would love to Smoke Flash a Shivian or Heavy ^^
  22. Thanks! I'll try both the slotting and see how it goes

Edit: Seems to work great, so i'll stick with them. Having aid self up sooner makes a big difference as does Paralytic for SS trying to run back to bases.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
If the troller has tp foe, the MM has no chances (mainly if it's an Illu/Rad, because it can hold thru /FF -and this applies to Seri's comment about the eluded MA, too-)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Possibly, the number of times i've seen anyone with TPFoe is insanely small, and i've yet to die to it. And you can just pop an orange the next time
  24. I somehow doubt dark debuffs better than poison!
  25. Pet's will chase down things they can't see that they were told to attack or were attacking when they dissapeared.Or at least from my experience they do.

I know Thug's have better sight than me due to the Enforcer's but wouldn't think Zombies do.
