What TG said, there's some really great people on Defiant that PvP.
Don't let it put you off. -
It has a pretty good recharge, so I'd just say stack it over CJ.

EXTREMUS ive hit 42 now, we can finally have our rematch, this saturday good for you, about 9 pm would be cool.

It's on. -
Just like to mention that in PvP Blaster's get a proportion of unresistable damage that may be skewing your results somewhat. *shrug*

Weekend could work for us, too. -

Rightyo PDs. I think we are ready to kick your butts. I would suggest a arena fight next week on monday 24.4 or wednesday 26.4 around 7pm GMT. How about it? I think we should be able to put together a team of 6-8 for the fight.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wednesday seems best as we're usually busy Monday's on Test. We'll let you know. -

I am thinking to create a series of events to introduce more people and more casual players to the pvp zones.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sounds good to me man. Sign me up, i'll bring my crappy scrapper.
I think we also need to focus more on team PVP as solo PVP clearly is not suited for everyone. The most fun I've had in PVP has always been in a team. Same as in PVE really.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well tbh if we really want this to work we ll have to count a lot on the hardcore pvpers of Defiant.PD's,HU,Sanity,Daggers boys,Ainur,ANBU etc will have to help all together to pull this through, that is of course if they are interested in expanding PvP population or simply let it die away
[/ QUOTE ]
The PD's would be more than interested in helping out, getting PvP interest up is always good. -
OMG BOW FIRST, U HAV NO HONOUR!
Sorry, any JKII players may get that remark...
You were right, SS to stay out of Melee from a Melee AT is perfectly fine. But you should think about the Arena next time, 1v1's in Zones are too often interupted by people 'watching'. -

it was very tempting to go for Elec Mastery, but this'll suit my play style a bit better.

That's what I'm probably going to go with PvP spec wise, it was very tempting to go for Elec Mastery, but this'll suit my play style a bit better.
Hope it helps. -

sorry but i have to disagree with that
try playing a controller/defender u have to work yo but off to save the team
my blaster jeesh, effort.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have tried a Defender, and I've become quite adept at keeping my (suicidal) team mates alive, thank you.
What I'm saying is, give an identical build on the same AT to two players, and the one with greater skill/knowledge/experience will invariably come out on top.
Just because a build or AT is considered 'gimpy', doesn't mean it takes no skill to play it well.
It's misconceptions like yours that lead people to immediately jump on the FotM Band Wagon. -
So does any AT to play proficiently.
A good player will always best a lazy player on any AT. -
Mind if we field some toons that aren't our usual PvP stock when this happens?
We've all got some new-ish ones knocking around we'd like a play with (Xanthus as a Defender, for example!). -
Awesome, the way I see it, casual fights are the way to go. Plus us heroes need to start working together, fight back those villainous dogs in Recluse's Victory!
-
To be, though, fair a lot of it was previously said in that Toggle Knocking thread.

Little tied up tonight with villain respec and helping one of our SG to 40 on villains...an arena match would be fun though, I'll see if I can arouse some interest.
[/ QUOTE ]
Aww. :<
It'd be nice to get some more SG's to PvP on a more regular basis, if anything it'd hopefully bring more use to the zones. Hope to see you in the arena soon!
[ QUOTE ]
And next time we're gonna shut down your entire towns, not just the TS server!!
[/ QUOTE ]
OH NOES!!! -
They h4xed our megahurtz!
Seriously, h4x0rz, all of them, breaking our base and TeamSpeak server.
I'd actually quite like a match, I was looking forward to the base raid and it's a shame it didn't happen, especially as it would've been nice for both SG's to get a taste of SL50 base raidy goodness. -
[ QUOTE ]
Come on guys. This should be a simple thread with "fightin' words". You're turning it into something negative.
Violators have every right to claim uberness. Hell, I do the same with the Paragon Defenders. They just have to back up the claim, and every thing is good.
So please guys, behave. And fight us in the Arena.

Edited for accuracy. -

did this thread just get nerfed, or is the forum borked??
[/ QUOTE ]
just what i was thinking
[/ QUOTE ]
Bridger AS'd the thread when we weren't looking, guess he thought things where getting a bit heated. -
My comment about falling back to the base was aimed at the players that go straight into the safe zone as soon as they get hit. I've seen it far too much in Warburg.
@MarquandDance: Excuse me? No, I'm not talking about 'ganking' and I'm sick and tired of complaints about heroes 'ganking' villains. Heroes team, at least my SG teams. What I'm saying is that even if you're outnumbered, have a go. Fighting back and winning against a bigger mob is great fun and a rush. When one side predominately outnumbers the other, which happens often in Sirens, that's when I leave the zone. It's no fun when it's an almost guaranteed victory.
@Hammerfall: Droning with TP Foe sucks, majorly. I'm also referring to the tactic of pulling back to the drones with the specific intention of getting your oponent drone'd. You don't lose anything by dying and it's a PvP zone, so, personally, I'd rather go down fighting instead of running back. -
Zone PvP is very different to Arena PvP, Arena is a lot more tactical, Zone is a lot more fluid, at least in my opinion.
I agree with your base camping thing though, I much prefer fighting in the water (Sirens) or at the beach (Warburg).
The issue with the latter is that it's very near the Hero base, so some people are tempted to just jump back a few hundred yards when they get attacked, which is kinda lame.
The thing I really hate about Zone PvP is that both sides have a habit of immediately falling back to the base if they're faced with a good team, at least on Defiant. Especially villains, as they're less likely to pool experience and set up a team to work together.
Droning isn't fun, and it isn't clever. Stop hiding behind them, if you get taken down, so be it. PvP is meant to be fun, if I'm killed by a good team or a clever tactic, all the better! -
Defiant has a great community with some great players, but Union seems more open to PvP. Which is a real shame.

or you got a nice secret that amaes it actaully enjoyable ?
[/ QUOTE ]
1) Play in the arena if possible.
2) Play for fun, not for kills.
3) Laugh when you die.
[/ QUOTE ]
What he said, but also:
4) Don't expect to win with FoTM builds alone. I found that the overall standard of PvP in the zones on Union seems a lot higher than Defiant. For example: People actually team with each other.
[/ QUOTE ]
how many times we gonna go over this xan....i-team-in-pvp comprende(typo?) ?
understand what others say tho, but on defiant we do team in pvp, mainly dependant on what each side has going for it, i.e. the other day was tons of villains staring at us outside hero hospital xD Btw loving fights near bases, not the mobs close by tho, just that bit
[/ QUOTE ]
Rarely on Defiant have I seen a multitude of Heroes appear and fight back Villains in Sirens after a simple call over /arena.
They team more casually it seems, yes, Defiant do team, but Union team more.
