    I play other games for skill-intensive pvp allright. Counterstrike or any other kind of shooter is not among them though.

    What bugs me to no small degree is that this game USED to have ok PVP, but then IOs were introduced and it turned into WoW.

    I am vocal because this game has nothing left to offer except what is left of pvp. It was my first MMO, I would like to hang around. But I cannot tolerate PvE anymore.

    If you dont want me around then fine.

    Hammer, to be honest, you're just annoyed that people who put more effort/time in to the game end up with a better build than you.

    It's not much different from someone at level 40 whining because a level 50 has 4 more powers and 21 odd more slots.

    That is why I play games without level progression.

    I got better things to do in my life than waste countless hours of boring and repetitive WORK just so I could get a CHANCE to play PVP.

    The point is you do have the chance to PvP.

    You can PvP with SO's, you've done it before. Use HO's, use common IO's.

    You put more time in to the game, you get more from the game.
  3. It wouldn't work because of travel powers, quite simply it's far too easy to break line of sight in City of Heroes be it in the zones or in PvP.

    Plus people on low end systems would lose target far quicker than people on high end systems, I imagine.

    Giving ranged AT's something akin to a Dash-near-Target clicky or a medium strength, low duration movement slow would probably work a lot better. That could quite easily bring up a whole raft of problems itself, though.

    The DR one is the big one for me, though. I still think the Heal Resist could turn out to be a good addition in some cases.

    Rooks is right about the arena being the best place to show each other how good you are as everything can be 100% fair.

    Zones are usually unfair sides (only a problem for some) full of farmers or full of people who moan and call you every name under the sun if you beat them. i13 also made pretty much every stalker a "spirit sharking" one, doing 750 damage per ranged attack.

    That and there's always the risk of getting jumped by random PvE, it's not always a problem when it happens but it can certainly mess things up.

    I dunno but I wondered what are all the differences between arena and zonal pvp people notice..apart from how you enter, the limits of space and the maximum number of people.

    I started to PvP some recently just to test things out. So far I've liked a fight I been in but haven't been too happy with another in the arenas, and a zonal fight seemed endless. Some things haven't been there aesthetically I guess, or some effects in terms of usefulness have been too weak in comparison to others.

    Def Debuff's negating Defense? Next you'll be saying that Res based toons should shrug off -Res!

    (and for the record, no, you don't need -300% Res to get shafted on a Res toon if you've got aggro - damn you lolbow!).

    You're getting the Bonus/effect from the IO's as far as I know, they're just invisible. =\

    This is happening in the US as well.

    If you log to another toon then swap back, apparently everything will be visible again to you until you zone.

    Oh no throw spines! If one ranged attack means it's not melee, then your point doesn't apply to RV as every single Melee AT has access to a ranged attack.

    This is not a new problem introduced with Issue 13, so I fail to see why you bring this up now. If anything the movement suppression, in addition to the increased melee base range, makes it easier to get off more attacks in melee.

    They also trade survivability for lower damage. This has always been the problem with Melee and, again, was not introduced in Issue 13.

    In Issue 13 ranged toons are all sorts of broken when it comes to damage output. A Stalker spamming LOLSHARKS > a Blaster.

    If you suck, sure. 9/10 times Unyielding gives the best risk/reward ratio for me - and yes, both XPPM and IPM.

    I think one of the the biggest things would be player models, they've basically used up all the points where they can anchor costume pieces on a player model now.

    It's one reason we've not gotten backpacks.

    As sad as it is there'll average out to be more casual testers throwing back feedback now it's live than there were committed PvP'ers on Test doing so.
