Also, what's the point in taking a set if you're not going to use it? Reminds me of an Invul scrapper I teamed with that didn't take his Mez resistance. Man, was that a fun team when he was taking point against CoT.

Actually, I'd say 3r Rec Red/2 Heal/1 End Mod.

You'd be surprised how much the End Mod helps.

On Live, that'd leave a lot of unflexibility without unlimited respecs, TG.

I really. really wouldn't recommend that.

If I don't have support on my Stalker, I run. I've not exactly got an unbundance of hitpoints and without Hide up, the majority of PvP players will hit straight through.

Not to mention that if I AS a Blaster, they can usually 1-2 shot me if they're fast enough. If ET misses after an AS, I'm fleeing.

But if I'm buffed, I don't mind the odd spot of Scrapping.

This is probably the best PvP 'Nuke'.

It's ranged, is 100% Energy (well, no, 2/3rd Energy because of the extra tick us Blasters get) which isn't too resisted in PvP by squishies (Only Elec Armour for Blasters/Defenders and FoN for Blasters iirc), so it hits freaking hard.

Back in the day, Extremus had his Inferno 6x Damage, which was more than enough to flatten pretty much everything. Now, it's all the more important to go for max damage, I'd personally slot 3x Damage, 1x Acc. It's got a high Acc anyway, especially if you buff it with Fort/Aim/BU, but better safe than sorry. If you're really after some end drain, I'd slot the last two slots with it.

Recharge is good, though in 1v1 I wouldn't rely on it or drop it too often because of the -recovery, and in team battles I'd rather have a Blaster to be chaining attacks than flooring his Endurance at every oppurtunity. It's great for dropping (or almost dropping) a handfull of squishies in the 'rena, though, been on the receiving end a few times, get's my Def's HP down to almost zero, which is what you want.

I do hope they don't nerf toggle dropping to heavily to be honest. Right now I'd say most */Elec and */Nrg blasters have both their toggle dropping attacks, because they do both toggle dropping AND good damage. A good blaster really only needs 1 toggle dropper(which is why I don't need Frozen Fists, as Ice sword is sufficient), but if they start messing with it too much, everyone that can, will just stack up on them just to get the same effect they have now.

I really have hard time computing this, why would a blaster rely on luck and use 1 toggle dropper when you have 2 available? Especially as the damage from both should be ok-ish compared to other attack chains.. I dont know how good the melee attacks in question are in this case (like animation and such), but not using both ice sword and frozen fists both as starters sounds .. weird. What would you use instead?

Third attack in chain might be freezing touch for the hold, or blaze for damage..or both I dunno. This is when going blapper route.. And imo it is perfectly viable.

Frozen Fists has mediocre damage, reasonably long animation time and a pretty naff chance to knock more than one toggle in any reliable fashion. On my Fire/Ice, it's the only toggle drop, I cycle attacks pretty fast (having only one hold in Char means I'm pure damage below level 41, compared to an ice blaster that can pick good hold up at L6) and it does me just fine. I've got pretty good range, which can annoy some toons, plus the DoT from fire can play havoc with interruptable powers. Chilling Embrace and Shiver are incredibly good at keep people near Melee for you, so Ice Sword is generally sufficient. Besides, if all else fails, there's brawl.

@Tyl: Yup, but a lot of villains don't seem to team (on Defiant anyway) so you're not too likely to find a Stalker with Hide, Stealth and a Grant Invis or two at the same time.

Rad is a nice set for soloing and sonic can do some good damage, (for defender).

Devices + tactics + IR goggles in SC will let you see stalkers.

Fire blaster does good damage and chilling embrace will prevent assasin strike.

Claws probably isnt the best scrapper set but due to get buffed and the ranged attack will help. Dark with tactics and goggles can also see stalkers and has fear protection which can be very handy.

I would say defender would be the most challenging and scrapper the easiest, though alot comes down to how you like to play tbh.

To be fair, the amount of support we had flying around, even if you could negate Force Bubble you'd have a hard time.

It's amazing to think that there was a team when Empathy and Force Field were considered useless in PvP by the majority of players.
