Psht. 'It's about the powers'. Then stop complaining when I move around, too.
People complain because they don't think they can negate Inspirations. I can happily stack over Break Frees with my controller, it's not really an issue as long as you know what your'e doing so there's no problem, it just evens the playing field a bit. -
They like easy kills.
Spines are the current FoTM (ugh, hate that term, but it's true) because of the -Fly and the reasonably good ranged damage.
Most people are too scared to play Blasters since they nuked toggle drops in zones, which is why there's hardly any around these days. At least not from what I've seen. -

Xanthus said he, more than likely, won't be able to make it on that night.
[/ QUOTE ]
can we have confirmation please.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can confirm that I almost certainly won't be able to make it on that night, since it's my first night at uni.
[/ QUOTE ]
You have a replacement or shall i remove the team ?
[/ QUOTE ]
Remove the team. -
Not many can beat a decent controller with breakfrees. Really.
Yeah, insps = part of the game, anyone moaning about using them is a twit. -

Protection - Stops the mez to a point, IE, Integration will stop 3 afaik before you're held.
[/ QUOTE ]
As most like it, like "Practiced Brawler", when running.. 3 strikes and ur 'out', kinda routine.
[ QUOTE ]
Resistance - Shortens the duration of the mez, IE; Health shortens the duration of Sleeps somewhat.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed.. tis a very 'minor' resistance.
[/ QUOTE ]what Ext said, and...
50% res is a fair bit AFAIK, just like the 50% stun res that aid self gives
Plight
[/ QUOTE ]
TBH, sleep res is most usefull vs ED, but they stack so much [censored] on you... ugh. -

Fire/Rad, you know you want to.
It's a build that allows you to solo AVs
[/ QUOTE ]
TBH, very few AVs can be soloed nowadays. And Ill/Rad will always be better for that because of Phantom Army. But I agree that for someone playing their first controller and wanting some good damage, Fire/Rad is a great choice.
[/ QUOTE ]
Considering some are solo'able by Stalkers, Rad controllers shouldn't have much issues with most of them, especially if they're Illusion. -

That's the way I look at it, basically. -
Oh I'm in. Infact, I'm so in, I'm already there.
No, really, I want big team fights. Not that I have a big team, but I have a small one, we'll take ye all on! -

This is not a nerf aid self thread.
Murphy's law is not just one phrase, Im afraid. Ask my Mum she's Irish. Toodle-o0.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can we make it a nerf regen thread then?
I'd pick up Siphon Life for your brute, 20% of a lot of HP is much better than 20% of squishy HP. Besides, if you're being beat on hard enough to negate Siphon Life and Healing Flames, swapping out SL for Aid Self wouldn't help much either. -
"[MISS] Oh shi-*INSP*"
Good times...
Ice/Elec is a very good combo, I'd probably rate Ice/Energy slightly higher for the self buffs, but Ice/Elec can be extremely competent. Though I'd never get lightning field myself. -

AoE immob doesn't count as control
[/ QUOTE ]
Now now, it's control because it stops them moving. -
[ QUOTE ]
Mind > All. Also, it does affect robots normally (apart for the fear), robots just don't take that much damage fom it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fire/Kin > Mind/Kin for raw damage.
Fire/Kin is one of the fastest, most fun combinations I've played in the game, but the End use really can be a pain. Even with Transfusion, though that may be because I'm at the point where I'm wiping mobs before I can get Transfusion off most of the time.
Fire/Kin and Fire/Rad probably have the best damage pre APP as well, which is nice when you want to do some solo'ing.
Grav is nice, but the sinergy with Kin isn't so good, Sing has Repel so you may run in to issues of things bouncing out of Fulcum etc... Ice has awesome slows and good soft control in PvE, but lacks much damage and Jack is naff.
Fire/Kin is good, but in PvP... ehh, Fire isn't so hot in my opinion. It's a PvE powerhouse for sure, and can do well in pvp, but other sets can do better. That's not to say it's incompetent, though. -

That attack rate buff is pretty damn usefull on a Blaster.

Thanks for giving me a hint for the Squished-tournament..
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't think it'll carry to the Arena, but it's handy for the Zone's if you're solo. -

Hammer,
But brutes do (stone melee, energy melee and super strength and dark melee) and i think tanks and stalkers do to, i dont think scrappers do tho.
I wanna make my next toon a detoggler...
[/ QUOTE ]
No, they don't. Anything with a Stun or Hold can create the illusion, but the powers themselves don't actually knock a toggle off in the same way a Blaster's Energy Punch would. -

I can level enough HP to make a tank take notice. It was more fun when AS dropped all toggles mind.
[/ QUOTE ]
lol now that depends on your perspective, Tank thanks that that aint the case!
Cheers,

[/ QUOTE ]
I mean you could almost hear them go 'Oh shi-*break free*' before starting to heal and toggle back up, especially if I stunned them too.
It was horribly unbalanced, but the reaction was brilliant. -
[ QUOTE ]
Quality PvP tanking!
How effective are Stalkers at taking down tanks anyways? Is the AS enough to make tankers raise their eyebrows? Or do they stand there and go "'tis but a scratch!" Monty-Python-Black-Knight stylee?
[/ QUOTE ]
At 38 (or 36, can't quite remember), I can hit 1100 HP on my AS whilst at the Damage Cap.
Not always there, mind, but I guess in the right circumstances I can level enough HP to make a tank take notice. It was more fun when AS dropped all toggles mind. -

Except you're not.
In an effort to get this thread back on topic and avoid me having to lock it, please clearly explain the use of Rest that you continue to allude to.
Thanks.

Oh, you know what, Bridger FTW!
OT though, I was in SC the other night with my Stalker. As per usual, there was another stalker claiming greatness in broadcast because he could AS a lone hero easily, and a group of heroes screaming about how it's cheap and that a stalker wouldn't dare try and take a hero in a group without AS.
So I run in, hit BU, Bone Smasher, Energy Transfer, Placate and get taunted. TAUNTED?! Good play to the tank, but man was I annoyed. This spawned a bit of a conversation in Broadcast about how Stalkers can scrap a squishy down without AS if they're quick, the other Stalker slinked off.
I just love the misconception that Stalkers really only have AS to kill people with, it's the AT's biggest character flaw really. -
Yup. also, APP's > PPP's.

Not only for the +percep but also for squishies getting armors which makes the AS+quick follow up (or bonesmasher +TF in EM/ ones) not enough to get a kill
[/ QUOTE ]
My stalker dont seem to have them problems. I guess all depends on slottings and the various types.
[/ QUOTE ]
Aye, it's still pretty easy to drop enough damage to kill a squishy in two or three hits at 50 on my EM. -
I might bring my Stalker along, and I'm voting for a cap of 40.
-
I think he's forgotten what it's used for.

Considerably is too harsh of a word, the power drop off isn't that bad.
To be fair, for example Empathy, many Defender sets would be better as controller secondaries as Power Boost is up so much more than Power Build Up. -
And how we laugh at the axe. Ohohoho.
Heck of a job Tanking, though.
