Good to know there's some interest in this
I thought we could make a global chat channel - so say come 7pm if we're about we can arrange a meet n beat (-up the archvillain). As a computer professional, I was thinking an obscure set of initials such as 'uaaa' (Union Anti-Archvillain Alliance) for the chat channel name
-
Nifty
Well I'm still good for Sunday. I'm a little dubious about whether I'll get the enhancement at the end if I level during the trial, but either which way I'll be getting the badges, the experience is just gravy
See you all Sunday -
Hi all, in my infinite musings, and given my recent push to get my scrapper to 50 before I die, I recalled prior posts from days of yore about the abundance of archvillains in the 40s and the general difficulty in mustering teams to deal with them all.
I thought a potential solution, that would provide both help with tackling archvillains and a good turn of experience, helping to fasttrack the 40-50 run, would be some regular team-ups, where participants would get their archvillain missions lined up and we could tackle 2-4 missions of an evening.
This wouldn't have to be the same team all the time, it'd just be a given time that people could agree to meet and do a series of archvillain missions - folks in the 30s that might be interested in getting sidekicked could join for the experience and general funning (and higher levels could get their nice shiny mentoring badges!), missions that otherwise might sit around get done, and everyone's a winner.
So what do people think? Would there be any interest in this kind of thing? Personally I'd be happy to put a couple of week nights aside for this kind of thing, and maybe even have a run over the weekend at some point, but obviously the whole thing falls apart if there's only the one person interested in doing it -
It was a very efficient team - a handful of drops, at least half intentional for those after debt badges, but otherwise we stormed through all that opposed us
How you guys can talk and fight at the same time so well is beyond me - I guess I'm just too slow at typing! -
You seem to be slotting your attacks with endurance reduction instead of recharge reduction, which I find especially odd considering my dm/regen doesn't even have stamina and I rarely run into troubles.
I'm not sure shadow punch is necessary - I have been toying with putting it into my build, but I can keep a good attack chain with Air superiority, Midnight grasp, Smite, Air superiority, Shadow maul, with each attack having a single recharge enhancement - with Touch of Fear as well (which I'll be respeccing into when I hit 42) I wouldn't even have space for Shadow punch, even when Hasten wasn't running.
And that leads me to your question on Air superiority - it's essentially my main attack - I can kill a lot of bosses, Fake Nemesis' for example, without taking a single hit by using the attack cycle mentioned above, because he's quite simply never on his feet. Some bosses are a touch quicker and the animation time of the attacks between using AS are too long, so I'll just use Midnight grasp (on its own) if it's ready or Smite when it's not, although I'll only do this if the boss is particularly nasty - it's not usually an issue taking a hit or two!
Reconstruction I got much earlier and 6 slotted (could probably get away with 2 recharges instead of 3 for 5 slots total), and without decent slotting Siphon Life is worthless (even with slotting it's pretty poor)
I went the same way as you, getting superspeed at 14 and fly later - I actually slotted fly a couple of levels ago, just for larks, and it's actually mightily impressive with three flight enhancers in it! When I respec I'll almost certainly find a way to keep those slots in it.
Dull pain should definitely be 6 slotted, 3xheal, 3x recharge. The heals now increase the HP increase, giving you even higher overall health - which is very nice obviously
I'm not sure why you've got combat jumping when you have fly - personally I'm looking to get aid other so that I can get the healing badges
Elsewise, I also picked up Whirlwind for larks - nice when teaming and things look to be going south - just run around sending everything flying, giving everyone a chance to regroup. It's more of a fun power than anything though.
Have fun anyways -
Me and Manf are hanging with Moonfire - feel free to come join us, we can sing songs together
-
Well personally I always rated radiation infection over radiant aura, but I know a lot of people like a heal regardless, so I can understand your wanting to keep it.
You say you have all the radiation emission powers except RI and EMP - that would suggest you have fallout - might you consider swapping that out for radiation infection? Do you actually find it particularly useful? I know most people ignore that power.
As for attacks, I rather like Electron Haze - I know the animation is a bit long, but it's a nice wide, damaging cone that works nice against a crowd. I think it is mostly the ~3 seconds spent rooted that puts people off this power. Other than that, as Rock_Star mentioned. Cosmic Burst is a popular, high damage attack.
As far as pools go, I've never found myself terribly motivated to get invisibility or phase shift - especially now that they're intending to stop you being able to interact with glowies with them on. I had always been quite fond of stealth, but with suppression, the defence nerf and now having the ability to interact with glowies removed, it has been reduced to being pretty worthless.
Given that you seem to be very support-oriented, I can understand your wanting to keep grant invis and recall friend.
It might be worth considering dropping hover and fly and picking up teleport as a travel power, to give you an extra power choice, but that depends on whether you'd want teleport or not.
Also as has been mentioned, the fitness pool (i.e. stamina) might be useful to you as the toggles tend to be quite endurance-heavy, especially when doing other things as well, but it looks like you might have difficulty fitting it in for all of one key power - you might be better off putting a good few endurance reduction enhancements about the place instead.
I think I'll leave it at that anyway! Have fun. -
Given that it's looking to be quite popular, it might be worth any extras who want in turning up anyway - 6-8 people = 1 team, 12-16 people = 2 teams - there's only a wee gap in the middle where things get awkward, and I can always try harassing people on coalition to fill the gap if required

Hi all, I'd be looking to run the Moonfire TF tomorrow (Wednesday 11th Jan) - level range is 23-28 and the minimum team is 6, altho naturally the more the merrier
Perks include lots of warwolves and vampyri for those wanting the two badges towards the Atlas medallion, a badge (Honourary Kheldian I think - can someone confirm?), an archvillain at the end, the usual xp/influence/prestige and of course the company of my good self
I will be attending with Paragon Prime, my lvl 25 ice/nrg blaster.
I'd be looking to start at 7pm (GMT), although subject to popular demand I could be convinced to put it back as late as an hour to 8pm if required.
If you're interested, sign up here - we'll be meeting at Moonfire in Striga Isle (if you don't know where that is, and you have access to a supergroup base teleporter to Striga, it drops you right next to her I believe)
Information -
Because the bulk of the team cannot make the next meet-up, we'll take a week off and meet again on the following Wednesday, the 18th.
-
I'll turn up and see what the state of play is - any stragglers that can't make a full team can always team for missions for a couple of hours, if they should feel so inclined.
-
No Moonfire? For shame! Well I'd certainly be interested in Hess - I'll see if I can get Prime up a level or two beforehand.
-
Good to have you on board, and thanks for letting us know about the second badge

No point rerolling Duckdee. Might aswerll respec later. We'll reach the 1st Respec level range in no time.

I concur. -
Props to an exceptional team - the fall of the titan went flawlessly
I was surprised so many turned up, what with everyone being worried about whether they'd get up or not
And I got 2 badges in with the deal - sweet!
For future reference, it sadly looks as though exemped heroes don't receive the dual enhancement, but I hope everyone enjoyed the trial as much as I did regardless! -

what hour?

We'd be meeting at 11am (GMT), in Founders Fall at the Eden entrance. -
As an amendment, if you could let me know the level, AT and powersets of the character you'd be bringing (as Aero and Phil did) that'd be helpful.
I believe as long as those lvl 42+ are exemped when they try to get the weapons then they will get them, so ideally we'd have at least 4 in the 38-41 range and then up to 4 over 41.
And as a sidenote, I hit lvl 41 tonight (I'll try not to hit 42 before next week!) -
Hit level 41 - I'm on a roll
Well hopefully 11am doesn't prove too early for everyone - else it might be wise to change the time for the sewer trial I have planned for next week! -
I've made posts for the abandoned sewers trial next week and the Eden trial tomorrow.
Aeronaut, hopefully you'll be able to make the sewers trial next week. If you let me know which weeks you can and can't make, I'll try to organise the Shadow Shards TFs for when you can and interleave other things when you can't. I gather the 40-50 run is littered with archvillains, so I'm sure I'll have plenty of events to fill in the blanks with
Cybercel, given the relative lack of notice for the Eden trial, I'm doubtful there won't be room for you, so I hope to see you there
Tufty, the Abandoned sewers trial is lvl 38+, so hopefully I'll see you there next week. I gather the Eden trial is supposed to be jolly good fun, so I'll perhaps organise another run one week when Aeronaut is busy if you haven't done it by then. -
Hi folks, I'd be looking to run the Eden trial tomorrow (Sunday 8th January) at 11am (GMT).
Level restrictions are 39-41, although presumably higher levels autoexemp down to it, or at worst can be manually exemped down.
Rewards include the Liberator badge, a double attribute enhancement (so keep a slot free!), the usual experience/influence/prestige, and of course the company of my good self!
I would be doing the trial with Ilservian, my lvl 40 dm/regen scrapper.
I believe the minimum team size is 4, although naturally the more the merrier!
Information -
Hi all, as you may have gathered from the title, I'd like to organise a run of the Abandoned Sewers Trial for next Sunday - I gather this is easier done with a full team, so I thought I'd get to organising earlier to get a better chance at getting a full team.
I'd be looking to do it around 11am (GMT), although this could potentially change if there is sufficient call for it.
I gather the best levels for this are 38-41 - higher levels apparently don't get the rikti temp powers, although that's not to say we can't have a couple of higher levels on board, especially if they can offer any experience of the trial to the party
Rewards include the Charmer badge, a double attribute enhancement (so keep a slot free!), the usual experience/influence/prestige, and of course the company of my good self
Information
And as a side note, I'd be doing this with Ilservian, my lvl 40 dm/regen scrapper. -
"A scrapper is a blunt instrument, to be delivered with direction and force. In this capacity he has few peers. But please, leave the tanking to someone else!" - paraphrased from Megatron, Transformers: The War Within #2.
Sorry, I just like quoting and paraphrasing Transformers when the opportunity presents itself -
Well I gather it gives a 100% accuracy boost (roughly equivalent to 3 SOs - actually better now that ED is in place), and a 66% damage boost (roughly equivalent to 2 SOs). It has a 10 second duration and a 90 second base recharge. With 3 recharge SOs this is dropped to ~45 seconds, so downtime would be ~35 seconds.
It's real nice for pesky high defence types, such as force field generators, rikti drones and the like, but is also nice as a general damage and accuracy boost, especially when used in series with Build up.
I think a lot of people use it (and/or build up) as an opener at the start of a fight, to clear away a particularly troublesome mob very quickly, and I agree in an extended fight I sometimes forget to use it at all after the fight has started, but it is a very useful power.
If you don't like it, you're not required to take it - feel free to take something you feel would be more useful - but it can be put to good use if you choose to. -
Hi folks, having just recently hit level 40, I wondered if others in the low 40s (and in some cases very late 30s) might be interested in some trials and taskforces to help on the way up to 50.
I'd initially be looking to do the Eden trial this Sunday (the 8th), perhaps early on if people are interested - say 11am-ish? I gather the level range for this is 39-41.
Others on the to-do list would be the Abandoned Sewer trial (lvl 38+), and the Dr Quarterfield, Sara Moore and Justin Augustine taskforces (lvl 40+). As with the Eden trial, I'd probably look to do these on successive Sundays. Also, because the TFs require a full team (8 people) it'd be keen to get a good regular group together to help these things run smoother.
So, would anyone be interested in the Eden trial this Sunday and/or other trials and taskforces on subsequent Sundays? -
2 hours commute - is that driving or by train? At least by train you can read or some such! No worries anyway, we'll see you when we see you - hope you had a good Christmas et al
