Yes. I'll create it now before server shutdown for I11
Edit: Done. The SG is made on Union, Jupiter Horizon is the setup alt. When everyone has joined, she'll quit tha group and my wife's char Spiral Outrage will rejoin it and run with you all. She's fairly new to scrapping, so this will be the perfect opportunity for her to learn. -
Synth, there is nothing to apologise for. The real world is jut that: Real. This is a game, something to enjoy. The real worl must come first, I know this as a father.
-
I'll prod my wife into Galaxy, it seems that everyone who wants to be seen goes to Atlas, and those who want to have some peace go to Galaxy when they first roll their chars. I speak from my personal experience, and not for the experiences of others, of course.
-
((Mostly Galaxy City, possibly other areas too))
"Hey, did you hear about that guy those Heroes brought down?"
"Yeah, they chased him all over the place didn't they?"
"Yup. Five of 'em on one guy too, and they had a giant with them."
"Know any of their names?"
"Well there was this one guy, Hvy Metal Hero, used to be in a band years ago. I don't know the other ones, but they all had the same badge"
"What'd it look like?"
"I heard it was a star within stars, yellow and blue. Know it?"
"Yeah, that's the New Heroes Union isn't it?"
"No idea. Anyway seeya later, here's my bus."
"Seeyou round." -

Adding another name here, as permission is granted:
Hand of Battle - 48 (dinged last night) Scrapper
Server: Union
H/v: Hero
Global: @She whom is all Evil (BIG thanks to my wife for that one...)
Story arc - current story arc completed, open to new storyline as available. I think Hand has several characters available.
For the names which are on currently, I'll be sending out some PMs shortly.

Minor adjustments... used a little correction fluid.
I have two solid heroes, both Hand of Battle and Sparrowsong, that I run most often. Sparrow has fallen by the wayside for now while trying to hit fifty on HoB.
When I11 is released (unleashed?) I'll be skinning up (*grabs rolling mat*) a villain Roleplay character by name of Cammie Flage, operating under the handle Rumour. She'll be hopefully rejoining The Corporation villain group. And so my altitis will divide my full attention thrice.
Edit: sorted out UBB code mishap. -
My wife will be joining the actual SG as I've used up all my Onionverse slots (we have six each per server). Her char will be called Spiral Outrage. DB/WP scrappergasm

Okay.. following a conversation with BH, we are The Hand of Chronos.
Rank titles he thought of could be:
Sword, Blade, Dagger, Knife, and Dart. Which I think would work best in this order:
Sword
Dagger
Dirk
Knife
Blade
As the sizes of the above go down in actual length, longest first. Opinions/ideas? -
Think carefully for several months: Comics of bygone eras were penned for the most part during either World War II or the "Cold war". The heroes and the villains they fought were stylised versions of the ethos of the countries they were represented. Red Skull vs. Cap. America is a critique or propaganda (depending on viewpoint) of the conflict of the contemporary period. They're avatars almost, and very single minded in their outlooks and ethics. Good Vs. Bad. Good wins out over Bad, rattles out some morale-building slogans, and vanishes into the sunset in a flash of red white and blue spandex (with stars and stripes too, who'd have thought?).
In short, Boring. Yes, that last part was my opinion, but hey, it's all I have in the end, right?
Don't get me wrong, there's a place in history for the classics of yesterconflict, but the reading audiences have moved on and matured into the fine variety of people and comics we have today and the past should be but a lesson to learn from.
We read comics to entertain ourselves with a bit of suspended disbelief, and much of that suspension is part of roleplay, where we get to make up our own personas and play out the events affecting their lives, events which we have a greater control over than those in our real ones.
This all comes crashing down when that small portion of control is stolen from us by one voice in the dark saying "Things are thus". We lose that immersion and suspended disbelief in less time than it takes to realise it, generating a lack of entertainment for which we pay our subs to achieve. Anyway, I tire of this tirade. *wanders off* -
Sudden thought. Use Bill n Ted's example. Villain A wants to kill Hero B, travels back in time to do so. Hero B gets knows this will happen already, and travels back in time to before Villain A arrives, tells his past self, and helps hand Villain A back to himself. Hero B trades witty remarks with past self, then returns to their present.
Everything is how it always was. Distorted -
Think Orson Wells' "The Time Machine."
The man who made the machine couldn't go back and save his fiancée from dying, because her death was the very reason for the machines' creation. If he were to save her life, then he'd never have needed to invent the machine to go back and save her, because she'd still be alive and he'd not need to go back and save her.
Cause and Effect?
My head hurts... -
Perhaps Blade of Chronos could be one of the Rank titles within the group? The kind of rank who "Does what must be done, even if it damns you".
-
It's /gignore from me. Character X ignoring Character Y. Fine. Player of Character X ignoring most/every other roleplayer on the server? ...words cannot express.
-
Hand of Chronos... I like it. With issue eleven they're making it possible to use the prefix 'The' as part of supergroup names, so we could be 'The Hand of Chronos'.
It must be pointed out that Chronos is also sometimes known as Aeon; Source , so we may have to take care that we not do anything to associate ourselves with the infamous one from the Isles. *smirks*
So for names we have:-
The Hand of Chronos. (my vote)
The Blademasters.
Blades of Wrath.
Blade Dancers.
Where do everyone else's votes lie? -
The Blade Dancers? If only due to the animations of certain attacks.
"Who are you working for?"
"I'm a Blade Dancer. I work for everyone." -
Sounds good to me. Gives unity and leeway at a stroke. Now, about that name..?
-
Nice work Kalistoh.
As for RP... would a formula of Local chat = RP, Team chat = non-RP be satisfactory for all? That way we get the best of both worlds, allowing those who do RP to work round those who don't, without imposing on them.
Also, can some more ideas for SG name be possible? I have an alt on Union ready and waiting to create the supergroup ahead of time, so we can decide on rank titles, emblem and so forth.
I also like the idea of allowing other time-travelling characters in who aren't necessarily blade-users, but what is the overall consensus? -
I think that species and race are entirely down to the player. You want metahuman? Go for it. Alien? Bring some lunch. Genetically modified Were-<animal>? Absolutely fine. Android/cyborg? Great. The more creative the better, given that there will be a uniform of sorts and an overall theme, some individuality is always a good idea.
As a side note, the green and blue combination in my trio pic is representative of the colours of Earth: mostly blue, with some green. Just for effect (unless it's popular, of course) and nothing hard and fast.
Regarding Energiox's point about future tech being brought back, I'm assuming that the suits would just be a simple mesh or weave of polymer threads and armoured scales (since that's what the Stealth costumes look like up close), and are therefore simple enough technologically speaking to pass through the time matrix/telporter array in the same way the swords do.
One final question, would this be roleplayed as much as I am hoping for, or is it a straight up OOC idea?
Addendum: What are we calling the Supergroup? Blademasters? Blades of Wrath? Steel Justice? -
Plausible, and well thought. I like it. I even have a name for a char spring to mind, but am keeping that little doozy a secret.
I think the Future-tech blademasters is getting my absolute vote. -

Something along these lines?

Aye. Something along those lines. I think that even if we all decide to go our own way with the overall appearance of the team/sg, as long as we all have that tattoo to keep us coherant, it'll still work well. This suits me also as I'm a roleplayer (I don't create any characters without RP in mind) and what I am thinking is that, at first, our chars are all still getting to know each other, have their own styles and the like to begin with, get tattooed after deciding to join forces as blademasters, and then build the SG from the ground up. Adding the Uni later. Thoughts on this? If it doesn't work, then it's all still fine by me.
As for the insect armour idea, I showed my wife and she loved it, but I'm not so fond of it. The tech suit with flags is also another good idea to me, although it does have me wondering (perhaps a little naiively) if in the future, there would be no seperate countries politically speaking, just Earth as a united whole (Against the Rikti/Shivans maybe?) with a single planetary defence corps. to guard the whole planet.
... *rereads the above* Hmm.. /e chinstroke
Edit: corrected some spelling, and also the below;
The idea.
Blades could be completely down to personal preference, as the characters would have theirs on which blades to use. -
I've just been playing with the skinner, and had an idea for a subtle, if coherant, link for all the characters. It's tattoo known as Fishhook for males and Tattoo1 for females. It could go in black on any mask or face, as a symbolic scar to bond all the members together.
-
The Immortals skin looks good, but the only problem is that not everyone will be able to use the Veteran reward shoulder pads pictured. Can you come up with an alternative, Necro? And that face mask pattern is Technis btw
As for overall theme, my mind has just locked up and gone home. I'll get back to you on that. -
Showers? Not just the three door graphic for walls denoting lavatory facilities, but actual showers, for use in private apartments and/or communal showerrooms (my sg has both).
-
Agreeance with the above.
Brutes do lack somewhat in the melée weapon area. Granted they now have Dual Blades, but it'd be nice to see axes and broadswords on the red guys/gals. Especially with the saracen scimitar for BS... *drools*
