In Sharkhead Isle, North of the Pocket D truck, is the old monkey bar. It is marked on the outside of its warehouse door by a red monkey with boxing gloves on. Its only drawback is the level of zone mobs, which may or may not be lurking near the PD truck when you zone.
Inside is a seedy, rough-looking bar [censored] casino, with craps tables, roulette, and slot machines, plus a grime-covered bar. In the centre is a large cube-shaped cage, with Rikti Monkey fights in there every five or so minutes. The spam from the fights, and the inccessant chatter from the two Family owners can be mitigated by removing NPC dialogue from your global channel.
I like the old monkey bar, as it's emtpy of heroes, and not often used. But it could pick up if enough people are willing to run the gauntlet of possible zone-mobs.
Whether this use is likely to pick up, is something that remains to be seen. -
I'm free all evening from around half six onwards. To be honest I'd have thought a trial deciding the guilt or innocence of someone most GGers know would take priority, but that's just me.

I have played a BS/Regen to 48, a BS/SR to fifty, and a DB/WP Brute to fifty. Currently on the go I have a WM/Dark brute, a SS/WP Brute and another BS/Regen scrapper.
Of the above combinations, I have to say I adore most DB/WP on my Brute, and when she got her Strength of Will, turned into a tank. I'm waiting the /Dark brute to warm up, though I imagine he'll be battered to death by something no char can survive; the Delete button.
BS/Regen I enjoyed much because it was always fun to outlive the Tank against an AV.
Super Reflexes... I plan to gut out and reroll my SR character, due to not enjoying the set anymore. She'll become a BS/WP I think. C'est la vie.
I took my WP brute against a WP scrapper when the set was still in testing, and with equal slotting and levels, the Brute won every bout, using only SO's.
Regarding one versus the other, I do admit I prefer to Brute than Scrap, but it's a very close thing. It's a great feeling to get lucky with critical rolls and crit four or five targets in a row, more with Headsplitter if very lucky (Headsplitter can be a very good AoE if you aim it right...). Conversly the Fury bar just pushes the whole team forwards at speed, especially in the later levels where everyone has nice rounded builds and knows their arcehtpe well. I've found Bruting works to my playstyle, that of grabbing a mob by the throat in my teeth and shaking it until it's limp and lifeless like a boned chicken... Wait... Oh yes! Forum post. Right.
Okay, I play my Brute like I do my WP/EM tank, dive in, grab aggro, batter until only a few stragglers remain for the team to mop up and then head-first into the next mob. Lather, rinse, repeat. Always repeat. -

hmmm nice idea. if i may add to it villians have mission in this zone to take hostages and do terrorist acts and the heroes have to stop them.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure NCNC would want to court the amount of controversy they'd be buried in if they let players commit terrorist acts
[/ QUOTE ]
Mayhem missions. Arson, grand-theft (bank-robbery), releasing of incarcerated villains, weapon trafficking, willful destruction of private property (cars), willful destruction of government property (mailboxes and payphones), willful destruction of city property (fire-hydrants and bus-shelters and newsstands), willful destruction of police property, resisting arrest and littering (crates, boxes, barrels etcetera).
What part or parts of the above isn't terrorism?

Is anything else happening about this?
Also, still waiting on anyone who wants SG/Coalish invites. Send me a tell to my globals and I'll get it sorted out. -
The Corporation is still going strong. Send a tell to @Quildo, @Synth, @John Sebastian, @CX-1233 or @Shadow Phoenix for an IC interview. Tell them 'Ms Flage' sent you.

To guarantee a Dev views your suggestion, send them a PM over these boards. I know War Witch checks her inbox regularly for the EU forums, she told me so at Omega Sektor.

My current bugbear is the lack (and I mean complete lack, Cimerora is time-travel to an island. One whole island. Whoopie-do.) of international content, let alone information about the rest of the world's experience of the Rikti invasions. For CoX to survive the onslaught of the other upcoming hero game, it needs to expand its borders to include the rest of the planet.
This idea, if implemented, will go a long way toward filling the gaps outside the war-walls. Very fine idea. *appalauds* -
I can be reached at either of my globals, which are in my sig. handily enough.

Many congratulatory sentiments of a jovial and lighthearted nature upon this celebratory period of twenty-four hours!

Courtroom is complete (I hope, been working on it since noon today.)
@Fanservice Girl has a leader-ranked char, so talk with her or myself for a coalition invite. Ten spots are open as of this minute.
As for the name, what else could it be other than 'Rhode Island Supreme Court.'?
*heads off to join a SF* -
I have a level twenty char sitting about twiddling her kheldian tentacles, and I have no plans for this afternoon. Song be the char's name so if you're in-game give me a prod.

Given how long forum RP takes, you guys might want to consider RPing this live... Otherwise you'll still be hearing evidence come Christmas!

I get the feeling a temp SG may be made, Rhode Island Court maybe? Would take some stuffing with alts and spare chars, but could be done.
Edit: Actually, I have time free right now. I'll have a stab at something and then show you when you're free Mechano (or anyone else for that matter, creative input welcome!) -
I volunteer for jury duty, as I haven't been reading the second Freak-out thread and am genuinely objective. Would Hand of Battle work or would you prefer my own villain-in-rehab character, John 'Lord Defender' Price? I have a spattering of other chars I could use if neither of the aformentioned would work, including a Peacebringer if necessary.

To my understanding, that haze effect represents all the gack floating around in the atmosphere inside our gilded cage of a city.
War-walls don't allow much airflow (unless air can pass through an energy barrier that solid objects cannot? Does anyone have canon on this?) meaning that all the traffic fumes, factory stack smoke and everything in-between is still floating about, being breathed in and seen through by everyone in every zone until convection carries it up and over the walls. Frankly, with all the aforementioned gack everyone's breathing in, is it any surprise there are so many mutants?
I digress. The haze is accurate to an extent, although in a city as large as Paragon I'd expect the kind of pea-soupers that plagued London in England before the clean-air act was implemented, especially in the more compact areas like Atlas Park and King's Row. -

Here's an idea; remove PvP from the game completely. This way, hopelessly outclassed PvE builds can enjoy the mission content in PvP zones instead of worrying that some Mid's crafted cookie-cutter AT will come along and gank them without there being the least amount of a challenge in a one-sided 'bout' over in two or three attacks while the élitish PvP player laugh and berate a foe who didn't have a prayer, making said PvE player give up on experiencing the PvP zone's mission content the Devs spent time and effort into creating so that everyone might enjoy it.

As for the OP...
Break-free's are there to break you free/protect you from mezzing effects. So, if you see someone approaching, spam four and laugh/cackle/insult them with poorly-spelled broken English or difficult to read/understand leet speak as they fail to hold you. If the above failed-mezzer says you 'cheated', tell them that it's not cheating to use a game-mechanic available to they themselves anyway.
And before anyone spouts off about 'honourable' PvP; there isn't any.

Welcome to Union Roleplay. My globals are in my sig (along with a desperate cry for employment) so chuck me a message and I'll introduce you to some fine and quality roleplayers I know. That list is long.
Also to add to the roleplaying supergroup lists, there's the New Heroes Union, and the Fourth Wall. Both of which have a solid core of fine talent. Send a tell to @Verto for NHU application, the group's an ecclectic mix of practically anything, so you're likely to be able to make almost anything fit in there.
@Loup Garou owns the Fourth Wall and would love to chat with you about ze arpee.
If you run villains, then The Corporation could make a good home for any type of char you might have, send a tell to @Riled or @Quildo for talkies there. -
I wasn't able to trot along to last night's game. I was round my mother's giving her a housewarming barbecue (bits of dead animal carcass slapped on a hot grill... Muhhuhahahahaha!)
Was fun, meat eaten. House warmed. -
Unconscious and bleeding, Hearth and Heart was helpless against the building's facade as it collapsed, burying him under brick and cinder-block. At his wrist, a small watch-like device began to pulse amber, then through orange to red. With a pulse and sudden in-rush of air his body was transported to the nearest hospital, the void where his body had lain collapsing in on itself.
-
Hovering over the battle throwing balls of flame at clustered Freakshow, Hearth and Heart watched with a grimace as their downed compatriots got back to their feet, dusting themselves off amid spasms of Excelsior-administration. They seemed to close ranks behind a big Tanker Freak with flaming eyes as he charged into the offices that seemed to be their base, forming a wall of death. Nicely packed together.
With a grunt of effort he propelled himself towards the bristling weapons of the Freakshow, and gathered his strength and heat for a large blast, sucking in a lungful of air as he did so. Stopping some twenty or so feet from one end of the Freak-wall, he pushed the heat in his body to fill his lungs, charging his breath with furnace-heat. He exhaled, sending a torrent of flame rolling down the Freak's line even as they swung their ranged weapons to bear on him. Bullets sang from automatic rifles even as the fire lashed them, setting a dozen Freamshow ablaze to writhe amid the rubble at their feet in agony.
Fire doesn't provide much protection from bullets, though, and the volley of gunfire scythed across the concrete of the pavement and peppered the air around Hearth and Heart. He took five rounds in his right leg, three in his right arm and nine to his chest and left arm. He dropped onto his knees, blood leaking from his wounds as the ground rushed up to meet him. He watched with a glimmer of glee as the burning Freaks stopped writhing one by one to lay still even as the black embrace of unconsciousness took hold. -
Hearth and Heart reached the battleground just as the Tank came barrelling from the ruined offices. He watched it stomp after a heroine he didn't know and another male, who stood there and insulted the Freakshow Tank as it roared its challenge. Hearth could feel the heat of the battle. Weapon discharge, energised air, body-heat, crude exhausts and any number of heeat sources filling the atmosphere with the right kind of heat he needed.
He felt his skin drinking in the haze, soaking up the higher temperature from the air like a sponge. Then the hot, angry feeling as his tissues became saturated to bursting point, he knew he had to release it soon, and that Freak Tank was the perfect target. With a mid-air convulsion he stopped eighty feet from the crude metal giant, bunched his fists, and emptied his absorbed heat from his outstretched hands in a blast of fire that tore towards the hulking brute. The fireball blasted into the Freak Tank's armoured chest, staggering him and throwing him off-balance, metal plates glowing red-hot and filling the air with the stink of scorched flesh. Hearth and Heart smiled, and readied another blast. -
Half a block away Hearth and Heart was buying groceries. He'd stuffed his goods into two paper bags and had stepped outside the store and was about to turn and head home, going over his mental shopping list again.
Cat-food, milk, butter, chocolate cheese-cake with strawberries for Afsoon... he glanced into the bag on his right, checking again the tray of a dozen eggs he needed for pancakes over the next week. Loaf of bread, tomato sauce, cornfl-
His train of thought came to a crashing derail as a woman pushing a pram screamed, pointing into the sky behind him. He turned, and saw... a flying Freakshow? Hurtling would be more accurate, but flying was all he could think in the few seconds left before the cyber-punk landed. His head shot round back to the woman and her babe. Without thinking further he dropped his groceries and dived for the woman, grabbing her and plucking the baby from the pram in a single movement before kicking off from the ground and soaring down the street out of the path of the flailing Freak.
The ganger slammed against the ground where Hearth and the lady had been, skidding along the sidewalk and smashing the pram amid a shower of sparks from his crude implants. Hearth and Heart turned mid-air, slowing to a hover as the woman clung to him and her child in fright. He watched the Freak for a few seconds, slowly sinking to the ground when he felt sure the Freak wasn't going to get up. As their feet met the sidewalk, the woman kissed his cheek, blubbering elatedly and thanking him a dozen times. He just nodded dumbly, then looked in the direction the Freak had come from and rising into the air, picking up speed. -
Personal Force Field. Nuff said.
Splendid idea for an event though, hat's off to you Damz. -
Debt to me is a measure of how much fun I'm having. No debt = too easy, not a challenge. Debt is also six badges to me, six, shiny, free badges for doing nothing more than being humbled. Now, those debt badges are further and further out of reach, especially the sixth one.
I too wish debt weren't so easily paid off. Double instance debt, and keep outdoor debt the same - it's four times the current instance debt anyway.
Another reason for the easier debt repayment is the smoothed XP-curve. Most times, mobs are giving more XP than before, making repayment much quicker. In my opinion, if the rewards go up, so should the penalties.
