  2. I been trying to figure out who is the contact for the second who will die arc. Anyone know where they are located hero and villain side?

The problem, of course, is that those L50s are geared up to be able to handle +2/x8 or +4/x8 whereas most mid-level toons are not. That means a rather poor survivability rate for those of us who join up with our lower level toons.

Is there any advice, short of "Don't join teams of 50s", that would help make adventuring with them more survivable? If I hang back and jump in (with my Brute) only when it feels "safe", I survive longer but I don't really feel like much of a hero, and I certainly don't feel like I'm "pulling my weight" for the team either.

For context, I'll just point out that my L32 Brute already has all the defenses she'll ever have, short of Incarnate powers or set IO bonuses. My slotting policy for melee toons is to prioritize defenses over dps, and so at L32 her defenses are already slotted for maximum effect. She's got L30 generic IOs slotted in every defense slot, which means she has the equivalent of green SO+ enhancements that never diminish in value. I'm told that all-SO builds can survive the "end game", that set IOs are not imperative for survivability, but maybe that isn't true for the +4/x8 style of "end game" play?
I dont do teams that are + anything if I have the option for it. Kill speed is too slow and its actually worse xp/inf over time than if they are +0 to you. The teams would have to be so optimized to the point where the purple patch didnt matter then I would do it.

We are getting a bit off-topic. But this discussion has progressed exactly how I hoped.
Was only crappy against psi mobs which could totally be avoided now by cherry picking your content. Either way broadsword is the last on the list that needs help now. If you had said broadsword for stalkers you might have gotten my support since it would mean stalkers would get looked at then.
  5. I still say the old mog is better. New mog only delays death by 15 seconds or so. I would give anything to go back to the days of perma-mog/unstoppable/elude, maybe not elude since soft cap is easy to get now. Mog didnt really get bad until they changed the base defense to typed defense. Kind of sad how they still leave the paragon protector version of mog the way it is. Its bad enough they screw you out of the exp/inf but you still deal with them for full duration unless you got a psychic blaster on your team with aim and build up.
  6. Don't worry about hp, its pointless. If it can 1 shot you now it can 1 shot you at brute hp. HP has never been an issue for me. In fact I was against any hp increase we got because this takes away from what the stalker AT is supposed to be about.
  7. Glad you are joking cuz I was this close to nerd raging about this.

Substantively, I tend to disagree with this objection as I'm not sure anyone can conclusively state what AT or set needs the most help.
Calling shenanigans on this. Stalkers stilll need help. We been saying this since issue 6. Some changes did help but its no where near enough to put them on par with scrappers or brutes. At best they are equal to the veats minus their buffs/debuffs. Also you now owe me a new keyboard for spitting out my drink when you said gravity control is fine. Its no where near where it needs to be compared to the other sets. I am not saying broadsword does not need to be looked at but before it gets fixed gravity and a whole list of other crap needs looking at first. Hell I would be bold enough to say regen needs to be fixed before broadsword, but we already had this discussion that fell on deaf ears in the issue 21 beta.
  9. Welcome to issue 6. Its been like this since the begining and nothing will ever change till we get a dev with balls who actually plays stalkers and not pretends to play them. Just be glad they let you join the tf. Normally on servers the typical response is "lol stalkers" when you try to join anything. Its only gotten worse since freedom since its easier to start villains on heroside now.

As I see it, the real value is in where you can free up a slot but have the same bonus at the end. Like being able to get by with two in haste instead of 3.
I get that examplar butchers enhancements but doesnt it start at a much higher number or does it count like the boosters arent even there before the exemplar crunch?
  11. I hate to say it but these things only seem worth it on lvl 50 purples or pvp IOs where you keep the bonuses. Possibly the upcoming purchaseable enhancement sets but again I would have to see how it works out with those and the boosters.
  12. The maps for the different cities keep resetting. Its annoying as hell, its not just the fog of war thing but also the icons that you turn on for all the city places like stores, contacts and trainers. This is way too annoying to deal with.

My other issue is not really my issue but one for a friend that recently came back. He thought that the aura unlock in the store was for all auras and not for just unlocking the use of auras before 30. I know what it is because I know auras unlock at 30 but he didnt. There needs to be better descriptions on the market as to what they are so no one gets confused about this if they are a new or returning player.

Also a personal gripe, there needs to be some kind of mini-video or pictures for the items you buy so you know what your getting for costumes and powers and emotes. The pictures shown are some what lacking. Lastly for the enhancements sold in the store there needs to be something that shows the set bonuses so people know what they are unless there arent any.
  13. I like it best on stalkers hard to believe. Just build up AS a builder attack and then placate for multi-crit possibilities. Right now my stalker is 17, things might change in the later levels when resistance becomes insane. I will be attempting posi and synapse at least this weekend to see how it goes. What I do love is how if AS is not used from hide it still gives you 2 points regardless.
  14. If the devs allow crits with rage and they don't take down rage's boost for damage then they do not think the set is overpowered when it goes to scrappers. But $100 says if stalkers get ss they will still give them build up.

Depends on how you put your own spin on it. While I am doing Evil Ken, there was no Evil Ken character with capcom, there was a Violent Ken character. My version of Ken is actually closer to the star trek mirrorverse where he has a goatee and darker blonde hair. The back story is going be very off from what capcom did to the regular Ken. Thats why its original.

Honestly, if doing the most damage is what you're looking for then Scrappers is probably what you want, as their damage output is steadier than a Brute's. I'd say go Stalkers, but honestly, that AT's playstyle is one of particular player choice, and if you enjoy it then go for it.

If you want the potential for doing lots of damage, but a bit more survivability, then go Brute.

However, if you want to do pretty decent damage (even for a Tanker) and be really survivable, then go Tank. You'll still solo quite well, and if team tanking is something you like as a player, none of the other melee ATs do it as well as a Tank.

What I particularly like about choosing a Tank is that if you're looking to level on a budget, and want to be really survivable, it's easier to soft-cap Tanks with defense sets then it is for the other melee ATs.
The problem is tanks really aren't tanks anymore since everyone got squishified back in issue 5. Pretty much anyone who can soft cap are just as survivable outside of 1 shottings. and in incarnate trials everyone is practically naked so why play a tank? They just do not do anything special anymore.

Already got them both right now. Might do a Gouki as well just depends on if I can get the hair right for the costume.
  18. Has anyone factored in the placate crits on the pboaes? That fact alone is huge.

Rikti, knives of artimis and Rularuu. That pretty much it. No amount of stealth overrides it either.
  20. Probably gonna do scrappers and possibly stalkers. It just depends on how I can leverage it. */SD is just way too juicy to pass up so thats getting done first. This is a lot of good damage without some wan key gimmick. I guess the real issue for me is knowing what the damage is going to be with brute sj/sd vs scrapper sj/sd. Fury for me has always been a non-issue so basically I am going to base performance on what the new max fury issue since the fury nerf vs what crits would be.

After my main got butchered in issue 3 I always searched for another way to fix it but now this maybe what I end up doing.
  22. Finally. I been waiting for the this to come for a while now. Now I am dropping all other characters for this.

I was getting this a lot on coh and aion. All this hot free nurse secks tells were getting insane. What they should do is allow us to turn off tells received from free accounts or premium players. That would massively cut it down even more if they find away around it.

So, my level 7 Elec/SR scrapper was shopping in KR when I received a blind invite. Ok, I thought... why not? I accepted and found myself in the middle of a team of five -- count 'em, five -- time manip defenders, a controller, and I think a blaster. I was sk'd up to 11, I think. No other melee types. We finished some ho-hum save-level bank mish, then pulled up somebody's +2 mission... all reds and purples, skulls... large packs, most with two bone daddies in them. Team wipe twice. Third time, I charge a pack to start hacking down a boss, go down, then swivel camera to see all the defenders bunched up a ways back. I got pissed, hit the hospital, then hit the quit button (a few seconds later, I saw most of my former teammates materialize back at the hospital, too -- another wipe). I never have quit without saying something.

Chewing it over afterward, I tried to understand why I was so pissed. Maybe it was because I understood my job as DPS, and I understood the defenders' job as... well... to defend. Why didn't I have at least 3x Temporal Selection on me (+90% dam, +450% regen), and why weren't the defs bunched up around me to keep me in their healing auras? They were all standing back in their collective auras. Sure, I know ranged AT's stay at range, but with no tank, everything is going to be in melee pretty soon anyway, and you better keep your DPS alive so he can cut down the real problem children (freakin' bone daddies). I guess I could have hung back there with them, but that looks kind of goofy... the scrapper hanging back waiting for whatever happens to come his way.

But then I started wondering about my own culpability. Maybe I wasn't right to think of my role as so central. Or do the roles shift with such a drastically unbalanced makeup (I would have thought if anything the scrapper becomes more central -- there being only one -- but I could be wrong). Maybe I should have taken one look at the team makeup and either asked for some backup, or politely departed. Should I have made some comments and suggestions on tactics? Were my own tactics brash and cavalier? (I am, after all, an SR scrapper, not a Stone tanker). Would all this be a non-issue if I just hadn't accepted a blind invite in the first place?

Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions on this? Thanks.

    P.S.
Since this is an exercise in introspection, I warmly welcome all honest comments, even those that reflect negatively on my gameplay, manners, personality, intelligence, heritage, or personal hygiene
Try being on a team as the only scrapper and dying when you have a team with 7 empathy defenders. Died in a carnies mission cuz they refused to clear mind or fort each other. You will get bad players and you know when its time to quit.
