    Yeah, these jerks are all about "safety," beating up a defenseless woman in questioning. I wish I could have targeted them. I even more wish I could have served them to Hatchet's ghouls with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

    This.

    An appropriate reward for this trial IMO is 50 merits and 20 million inf. The devs just need to put in a real lockout timer on this so a character can't earn a reward for the trial more than once every [X] days. Where X equals what the devs think is fair.
  3. My Night Widow Build does not use PPPs. My Fortunata build has Soul Mastery. Gloom + Dark Obliteration = Happy.

    You people are making me agree with Memphis Bill. This is not a good thing for the stability of the universe.

    5 slots at 50 I could get behind as a bonus for capping a character. But not being able to take all your epic powers presents an interesting choice sometimes.

    Another interesting thing is Dominator's Blaze 168 damage with recharge at 12s is still less than Blaster's Blaze with 10s recharge? Doesn't Dominator have 0.95 range modifier?


    PS: Blaster's Blaze damage is crazy high... lol
    Corruptor's ranged damage mod is .75; a Blaster's is 1.125. That's a 50% increase.

    126*1.5=189

    As I said, anyone who thinks a Corruptor is out-damaging a Blaster is hallucinating.
  6. There would be winners and losers in a Diminishing Returns scheme, but the game would be much better off for it. Much more so than it was after ED, in my opinion.

    Why A Blaster?

    I just wanted to chime in for the OP:

    Anybody who tells you that a Corruptor does more damage than a Blaster needs to learn to play. It's that simple.

    Doms are closer to Blaster levels of boom, but Doms don't typically have the same amount of AoE or damage buffing that Blasters do.

    Blaster take a player who is good and adept at managing their controls, melee damage, inspiration tray and has situational awareness. You're going to have a harder time solo if you're not good, that's true. But if you are, any blaster can do more damage than any non-primary damage dealer.

    Some Scrappers and Brutes can do better, but it's a much more isolated case than a lot of people here let on.

    Since Castle shot down the idea of PPPs or APPs for Kheldians, this is my goal for them. However, I just don't like Khelds enough to really be annoying about this so it's probably not something you'll hear much from me about.

    Why do you believe that any would be required?

    Personally, I don't think Controllers/Doms need full control, but only the three basic controls given to Masterminds on character creation. The ability to tell the pet to attack, to back off, and to protect themselves and me first.
  10. Makes no sense that a leader of a band of thugs has more control over his/her subordinates than a person who creates animated incarnations of their will and control over the basis of their power.

    My Illusion controller's Phantasm exists only because my character has brought him into existence. He is a mindless extension of me animated and controlled by my thoughts.

    The original reason given for the disparity was that this was intended to provide a benefit to CoV. Any reason to do that has long since fell out.

    My guess is that it's an artifact of the change that allowed non-offensive toggles not to root or animate if moving. Maybe a bug or maybe WAI, I don't know.

    Why A Blaster?

    I've not found the game to get significantly harder for Blasters post-30. But it does require being on your toes more. It also helps to take those controls that they put in the Blaster sets.

    For example, my Ice/Energy Blaster had a very smooth ride to 50 and this was in the bad old days pre-IOs when ED hurt. But having holds and stuns and KB helped a lot.

    By contrast, I have a Fire/Fire who is sitting at 26 because while the damage is frightening, there's nothing to stop mobs from beating the character down.

    My last Blaster, a DP/Elec is doing well because like the Ice/Energy there are enough controls to back up the damage to prevent mobs from doing too much damage too quickly.

  17. The great thing about micro-transactions is that you get to pick and choose. I'm passing on this pack like I did with the science and wedding packs. Certainly not angry that they created the pack.

    I only hope that they stay reasonable with their micro-trans as they have been up to now. This is a bit overpriced IMO, while the costume packs have been great bargains.
  18. Perma-Domination isn't necessary and hasn't even been that useful since they moved the damage increase to all the time.

    I love my doms from level 1+.
  19. Kheldian's don't lack much but what they do lack is: ranged controls, mez protection, primary debuffs (as opposed to secondary effect debuffs). So I was thinking about how to do APPs and PPPs for Kheldians. I think I've come up with a few. There are only two APPs and I think more aren't needed. In theory, APPs should still provide themes consistent with the AT. So for example, Scrappers got Blaze Mastery because they have Fire Melee and Fire Armor now. Since Peacebringers are based on Light and Warshades based on gravity/darkness/twilight, I came up with two pools that reflect that.

    As for PPPs, they are a bit harder because of their required themes, but I think I have them covered too. Here goes:

    ANCILLARY POWER POOLS


    PHOTON MASTERY (In Peacebringer colors)

    41 - Blind
    41 - Power Boost
    44 - Light Armor (Passive - Same effects as Bane Spider Armor)

    Umm... I never said that a BS/Regen Stalker couldn't solo AVs. YOU SAID that a Brute/Scrapper couldn't solo an AV with high regen and a godmode. Having done so, I know that's not true.

    My BS/Regen has soloed Maestro, Terra, the Envoy of Shadow, Countess Crey, Nemesis (and he's a jerk), Bobcat, Malaise, Battle Maiden (who had MoG at the time - may still), Chimera, Dominatrix, Mother Mayhem, Nightstar, The Kronos Titan, Giovanna Scaldi (dinged 50 on her long ago! ), and a few others I can't recall right now.

    All in missions, all even con. Not all without inspirations, all without temp powers.

    Something I learned building my new system: Make sure the darn thing fits in your case!

    I use an ATI Radeon 5850 and I was shocked how big the darn thing was. It fit, but it took some juggling.

    Scrapper's attacks at base are 150% of a Brutes with the same attack.

    Well, when you need about 100% of that damage buff just to match the Scrapper, I would probably pick the Scrapper. YMMV
