I want to touch on not what PC Guy said, but what he has in his signature. I don't want proliferation to fall off the radar like PvP did. There are already folks who claim that it isn't important to do proliferation because all the ATs are available to each side.
The devs have created some AWESOME systems over the years, but they do have the habit of chasing the next shiny. The next shiny in this case is the endgame and Incarnates, two things I greatly wish for and support them in doing. But that doesn't mean that I'd like them to ignore other things in the game, especially low hanging fruit like proliferation.
Positron was probably right. They should have just done it all at once and gotten it over with.

Quote:It's comic book release day, please don't get me down before I go give Marvel more of my money!Indeed, part of why I gave up on Marvel was the fact that they not only built, but use a dues ex machina character and use her to explain any changes to the way the world works on their whim

(i.e. you're exactly right, but I can't quit them.) -
You may be right. But PA is more of a control power than a pet power.
-
Quote:Your point was subjective. That you trusted the devs to do everything you want. I gave an example of where I did not trust their judgment, complained about it and eventually saw an improvement to the game as I play it when they changed their mind and did what I said they should have done all along. In addition, the improvements to the market are only arguably subjective improvements. The market is more efficient now by economic standards and that can be objectively shown as an improvement over where red side used to be.I wouldn't call that horrible at all. I'd say your response is pretty subjective tbh and it's made almost no difference to me.
I have no argument about the Devs listening - they certainly do, much more than Cryptic ever seemed to - NCSoft, not so much
So your point is still refuted. If you don't care about proliferation, I understand and thank you for bumping the thread. But I do. -
If someone walked up to Scarlet Witch and put a bullet in her head would all the mutants get their powers back?

Bonus question: If you're going to kill Jean Grey off for the 34th time, could you not also get rid of her deus ex machina, Phoenix, at the same time? That's my HOPE.

Quote:I didn't want this post to be dominated by Illusion (pun not intended). I'm still looking for Mace Scrappers, Ice Stalkers, etc.I think Illusion Control can and should be ported over to Dominators.
I also believe that minor tweaks to the set are in order.
Now that I got that out of the way:
One power that I think they could certainly drop would be Group Invisibility. Dominators aren't really team-buffers, so it could make room for another control-power which would benefit from Domination.
Also, while Illusions may also be viable as a base for a Mastermind set, I do not think that means Dominators should never receive it as well.
But to your point. I don't think Illusion needs any changes at all. Plant has Spirit Tree which is a regen buff, so Group Invis isn't out of place. In addition, it's a handy place to add a LoTG 7.5.
The Domination thing is a complete red-herring. It doesn't matter one bit whether Illusion can benefit from Domination because the set has plenty of other controls that provide effects on par or better. As stated Illusion has three power subject to Domination. Most other Control sets have a ST and AoE Immobilize and a sleep. These powers are nice, but in most cases they aren't anymore useful than Phantom Army, or especially Spectral Terror. -
Of course. And think of how much work they'll have in Issue 20 with 2 or more new Incarnate slots, which have even more effect on what characters can do. It's time for a round of proliferation.
-
Quote:Actually, there are several things where they're judgment has been horribly wrong, we complained until they changed their minds, and the game was better for it. For example, at one point, the devs were adamant that we shouldn't have a market merge because it would "hurt" villains. Two months in and the market is healthier than I've ever seen it.Personally I'll trust the devs to decide what's right for the various issues and moving the game forward.
Sure there's all kinds of stuff we'd like to have but they know why they (don't) do stuff and so far their judgement hasn't been so horribly wrong has it?
The game as it stands now is a testament to the devs ability to listen to complaints from their loyal, but crabby, playerbase.

Quote:ATs are collections of stats, attributes and possibly an inherent ability. They don't have feelings and they don't care about being unique. They're numbers on a spreadsheet.I am one who doesnt think that everything should be ported over. Some things should be unique within an AT IMO.
PLAYERS want to be unique with the CHARACTERS they play. Increasing the potential number of options in character creation provides MORE UNIQUENESS. -
Quote:We haven't had any proliferation since Issue 16. Issue 20 will be packed with Incarnate stuff and the end-game stuff.Given the other goodness we are promised in I19, and all the new shiny power sets we got in I18/GR, I think we can forgive the Devs for not proliferating anything in this instance.
Now's the time in a transitional issue like this. They're almost done. The can finish a couple of ATs right now. -
Quote:It actually does 1.64 scale damage but .64 heals back. The 1.64 is enhanceable fully, while the .64 ignores enhancements and buffs. Thus at level 50 it would do 86.6 damage base on a dom and heal back 33.81.I'm actually curious how much spectral wounds would do on a Dom. It does 1 scale damage, 1.5 sec animation and 6 sec recharge, all psi damage. Would it rank pretty high even with the healback?
Slotted to ED cap it would do 173.2 but still only heal back 33.81.
WANT SO BAD....SO BAD.....!!!
-
Quote:It's been clear that you're insane for some time so I am not surprised that you don't like the finest and most unique controller set there is.You want an illusion dom? Pretend it's there already.
Problem solved.
I'd be perfectly happy if Illusion completely disappeared. With two invisibilities, I don't know what's taking it so long. Can't stand that set. Yes, I've run it to nearly 40. Still don't like it one bit.
-
-
You're wrong. As usual. Illusion would not only work for Dominators, it would probably work TOO WELL.
-
-

You had it coming. Where's mah Illusion Dominators?
-
Thank you devs and/or community team. The EvilGeko is MOST pleased with the Issue 19 feature list.
MOST PLEASED!!1!!one!!!11! -
I took pictures of the slots as they were on test (not beta, the accidental leak to test) but I run afoul of Mod 12 enough so I'm not going to push my luck.
-
Quote:Yes.What I didn't get from Beta was if there would be more powers or would our powers be somehow expanded in look and feel?

Joking aside, the different slots do different things. Alpha was like a free global enhancement; some later slots added powers, some others added effects like -regen to existing power. No idea if they will launch in that state. What I saw on test for a short time was VERY overpowering. -
How do we know that Praetorian Hami isn't a tragic hero? Remember the human race had nearly rendered the world uninhabitable. What would be Eco-terrorism in the presence of a responsible humanity, might be Eco-salvation in the distopia that was nuclear ravaged Praetorian earth.

My Soldier was sold out by Arachnos a long time ago, there was no love lost and he looked forward to his redemption.
My Widow Super-Spy is loyal to her own ideals and spies for many different groups. She's in Paragon now, working the hero thing for loot, but will eventually join the ranks of the Vigilantes. -
I've been playing with builds for most of my characters, shocked at how awesome inherent Stamina will be. Then I remembered what is really supposed to be the point of Issue 19 - THE ALPHA SLOT.
Then I start salivating over a return of perma-Hasten, 800%+ regen, etc. and I'm wondering what those sneaky devs are up to.
Anybody else wondering what's up?
