We level too quick, and can't afford enhancers. Thus indirectly nerfing our power level without having to actually have the stones to do it like men (and women)! -

Constant whining is one thing to devs, but when the whiners haver a point... it's something else.
Regen really needs DP and QR to function in a team of any size(with the exception of playing with a good kinetics,) So nerfing them would be an act of pure evil. And, whether you like it or not, the devs aren't evil. The most unreasonable nerf they've ever made was to debt in I5(yeah, I know allmost everyone disagrees, but you're wrong.)
The only reasonable nerfs for DP and QR weould be to make DP perma with 6 slots instead of four, and put QR down with stamina for end recovery.

I generally agree that the devs are reasonable and decent people. But with Regen they have just lost perspective.
Expect more nerfs. -
I need some positive assurance here. Does anyone really believe that they are going to leave QR alone?
The facts:
1. Rest recharge reduced to less than a 1/3 of its original recharge
2. Vigilance
3. Endurance reductions all over the place.

I think they're setting up either a massive positive change that would make Stamina truly optional. In such a world, QR might be seen as overpowered.
OR
they are setting up "teh ubar nerf" of Stamina and QR and if we don't like it we can go [censored by me] ourselves.
OR
all of the above plus a nerf to Dull Pain for questioning their intentions. -

You know if they actually get endurance costs back on Earth and under control, I wouldn't have the slightest problem with QR and Stamina going away.
The powers aren't fun in and of themselves. They're necessary because endurance costs in this game are obscene.
People just want to play a fast paced fun game. I don't want extended downtime. That's why I've always said, I'll play Regen even if it was just QR and Recon. Of course, who knew the devs would take me seriously.

We'd still do it. I would organize chains of regens jousting one monster at a time, using LBE, Impale, etc. Scrapperlock cannot be defeated. -

The ironic thing was that I was hoping that with my ice tank I could avoid all the nerfs regen was getting (and enjoying my suddenly stacky armors). If ice armor proves anything it's that any set, no matter how inadequate already, can be nerfed worse.
But then this is a +def tanker primary that can't stack the +def from ANY pool +def power with their armors. And lost about 70% of it's +def. Yay.
I wonder if this is why I find myself tooling around with Dash lately - at least he's more survivable. This is why I truly expect more nerfs in issue 6. My BS/Regen is sturdier than my ice tanker - withour without the Parry that, with only 2 slots added, outperforms an ice tanker's +def to melee attacks.
That and... he's still a fun character, with the again-needed freespec to make use of the nerfs. I dread i6.

See that was the problem. Too many of you followed that plan and the devs took notice. The Geko meter that that wicked man uses to take away our fun, noticed that a spike occurred in the Ice Tanker population.

Take tough and weave, maybe aid self and such and just see if I turn out better off or not. As is my 50 has only reslience and IH and IH has only one recharge and I seem to get by.

I don't think regen Is going to get nerfed. It's not overpowered, and for the first time in ages, no one's complaining about how vastly superior it is. Whether you want to admit it or not, most power changes come because of whiners, especially lately. Things like lower debt, containment, lower end DA, and vigilance are all because of whiners. And how many people do you know whining that DP in regen is overpowered? I would hastily assume none. Past that, how many people are whining that stamina is overpowered? Actually, a lot of people (cough cough THE ENTIRE DEFENDER FORUM cough) are complaining it's required for all builds.
I think we're going to see more end reduction before we see any change to stamina. As for DP... just stop talking about it, and the no one will notice how good it is!

There was a very long post in the AT forum about how Scrapper DP should be eliminated. Do not underestimate the pettiness of nerf-herders. They're scruffy looking. -

I'll admit it's better, but with Resilience I'm not so sure I would say it's WAY better. More like...very slightly kinda better but jeez aren't there about 12 powers you would prefer maybe 15 better. -

Why?
Regens are always out to help each other. I just read the pre-release of Fanboy's DP guide, and I note that any newbie Scrapper can get a hand here.
I've tried several times to get help on my Controller on their boards without success. Regens take all the nerfs and still make a kick butt character. -

mmmm, we were good but we weren't that good. high level invul and fire tankers were doing so crazy [censored] stuff too. And they've had their share of drastic changes too. As good as havok's vids were, an invuln or fire could still do twice that.

The problem with the old regain, if you'll accept a regan noobs option, wasn't that it was the most powerful defencive set in the game... I think that belonged to I4 Invuln tanks... but it was extreamly powerful, really really easy to us, and had just about zero down time thinks to quickly refilling green and blue bars.
When you mix them 3 aspects, power, ease of use, and almost no down time, you get a very popular power set to us and play. and that's what you guys had. every scrapper and his brother was a regain. Hehe. Even now, regain, dispite being the single most nerfed powerset in CoH is STILL the domonite scrapper secondary. None of the others come CLOSE, from my expearince.
And that's your problem. So long as every other scrapper made is a regain, the dev's will look for ways to get people to play the other secondaris, and buffing them up really doesn't seem to be an option for the devs right now.
Next on the Hit list? You want my honest option? It's prolly Quick Recovery, for the simpe reason, that, at this point in time, it's regain's BIGGEST selling point. It keeps you attacking stuff longer, and attacking stuff is what makes a scrapper fun...
So in conclusion, so long as quick recovery makes the regain set funner to play then the other secondaries, thus making regain the funnest secondary to play, (with the lest down time, which also adds to it's fun), regain will contune to be the most played scrapper secondary, and thus, will still be #1 on the dev's hit list for nerfs.
Kind of sad isn't it? That a power set has to be constently nerfed becasue it's apperently to fun for it's own good...

Actually this is my conclusion and I believe this is the reason that they removed QR from Stalker Regens. Instead of fixing the ridiculous endurance system in CoH that makes the early levels a chore, the took away the one power that makes the early game fun.
I think Statesman is very happy in hindsight that people have to take Stamina. It works very well as a limiter in the game. If you don't take it, then you'll be much weaker than you would be otherwise and if you do take it, your low level game is saddled with trying to get it....unless you're a Regen.
Regens could hold off on Stamina until 28. Now we can hold off on it entirely. Worse in the devs eyes, I think is that we CAN get Stamina and completely remove endurance as a limiting factor. Thus having more fun.
I know their goal is for us to have more fun, but I don't see why they have to punish the one set that everyone likes because SR and DA isn't as much fun. Invul, IMO is not picked as much on the Scrapper side because Tankers have it. -

This thread scared us too back in I4. Strangely enough the doomsday wasn't so bad for us because we had conditioned ourselves to expect that much or worse.
I think it's a very credible threat that QR will be nerfed. Because they can't let an issue go by without nerfing Regen. -

My fellow Regens, it's time to bring back my most beloved forum creation. If you will all remember, in Issue 4, CuppaJo converted my Regen post to the official post. We realized quickly that the devs didn't give a rat's [censored by me] what we thought and vast silliness ensued.
Let's have it back. I'll start. Using the vast powers of precognition that I am well known for I was able to look into the future and see the Regen nerfs for Issue 6:
